The Berkeley City Council is wrong in their efforts to ban the Marine Recruiters, and in their bias toward "Code Pink". The Marine Recruiting Office has the right to co-exist with those businesses that don't involve military service. If the City Council feels it must establish a parking space and sound permit for "Code Pink", then should give equal treatment to "Move America Forward". Their failure to do so validates their bias, therefore any actions taken by the federal government in response to that bias are understandable. Apparently Berkeley has never heard of the saying: "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".

What the City Council has done by basically endorsing Code Pink, is to infringe on the rights of not only those Marines trying to do their job in the recruiting office, but the rights of those who wish to enter the recruiting office to join the Marines. No one is allowed to voice their own opinion or pursue the career of their choice, because Code Pink and Berkeley have stomped their feet like spoiled children and said "no".

If you object to the City's behavior the best solution is to protest. The more protests the greater the costs to the City. Eventually, and not too long in the future, they will go bankrupt. Let the residents deal with their Council's stupidity at that time and through higher taxes.
