I kinda like the new format that the Times has implemented for the forums now that I've gotten used to it, but, I miss being able to e-mail a respondent and format typings. It's not the best, but it beats the alternative: no forums at all. I've gotten to know lots of people here that I would never have dreamed existed, learned about alot of issues I didn't know existed, either. Have made some great friends, too (you know who you are!). I love that we can converse here and have some fun at the same time, experience menu's, grilling techniques, weekend get-aways, and discuss some serious issues that affect us daily in our various communities. This has been the best fun I've had since I joined Classmates.com. Okay, where was this going...?

yes Roy, I also like the forums. Not the new format especially, but what's a person to do. We have to accept what is given sometimes. It is great to read the news and at the same time read what other people feel about it, even if it doesn't agree with yourself. I miss the e-mail feature also. I guess I could always put my seldom used e-mail in my profile.

I started on the forums and was just comfortable with the old system when they changed the format. After a little effort I got the hang of the new format and although the options are not as good as with the old, it is still a workable system. It is nice that some of the veteran posters have started to return. We need to keep up the character of the East County Forums.
