Ms. Harrison must really, really be good, with incentives like they offered her. All that salary and an accumulation of sick leave beyond the clouds--she must never had gone on leave, which is really odd, what with over 300 days on the books for 34 years. I wonder how much a professor makes compared to Harrison's salary? Sure would be nice!

Knowing Berkeley, they probably re-hired her because she would let the tree-sitters stay forever and not allow her officers to enforce any laws on campus.

As a UC employee, stories like this make me vomit in my mouth. Just when we think the university is committed to fairness for all employees, another story like this pops up. It doesn't sound like this women was very busy as police chief, having time to work for the athletic director and serve as a vice chancellor. Abuses like this hurt everyone, get your [bleep] together UC adminstrators.

Somebody please tell me that this article is a joke. I can't believe that the University would engage in such a flagrant and dishonest abuse of public funds. Who is supposed to be watching out for this sort of thing?

It's past time for UC to become a 100% private school. Taxpayers are fools to allow this corruption to continue. Their arrogance at all levels is contremptable. UC shouldn't get a penny of state money for blatant VIOLATION of CA law PROP 209 (equal treatment & no discrimination). Pres & Chancellors arrogantly defy "the people's" law by stating diversity (discrimination) is their top priority. My 3 blueyed, blond males need not apply. MIDDLE income so No private schools.... into life without education !! Yet these thieves take my taxes to do as THEY WISH !! The list of violations in this Chief scandal is too long to repeat. The arrogant defiance is disgusting. We know this legislature only thinks of their own greed for office, so allow Regents to run wild, & as the huge scandals have repeatedly displayed in recent years the Regents are happy to IGNORE & VIOLATE THEIR PUBLIC CHARGE !!! Where's Blum? Who's hot honey was she ?? She was hired as a kid of 18 ((police&fire don't need to waste time & money on college.,.they do BETTER than the real world withoug....as this demonstrates)) hired at 18 and cashes thes MULTIPLE layers of retirement programs at age 54 !! Wake up people ! CA safety (police & fire) are eligible for FAT retirements at 50 !!! Are YOU ?? No these thieves have NO CLUE about life in the REAL WORLD..she's NEVER spent a day in OUR JOB WORLD. NO worry about layoffs...so don't need to SAVE for a rainy day...they know they will NEVER have a rainy day. Can YOU say that ? I *LOVE* Cal and have always made it a priority to donate to it as an alum, but NO MORE. I still love what it stands for, but those bastards in charge of it now are nothing but crooks and I WON'T start donating again until they are ALL fired and thrown in jail. PERIOD. This is just outrageous.
