Wow ... you sound really angry. Given who wrote the initial story, and the writer's angles taken toward the university on other articles, I bet there are a lot of "facts" here that have been left out and misrepresented.
No way you can pretty this up, my friend. I'm just looking forward to receiving my next phone call from Cal, begging for a donation. That person is gonna be so traumatized that they'll never use the phone again, for ANY purpose. ... and I suspect that I am not alone.
