The driver should win this one if the dog really caused it, but, honestly, I'd let it go. If a mini-pincher did that much damage to my car, I'd just be embarrassed. What kind of car are you driving??? A lowered pinto??? I've seen a mini-pincher. They're ridiculous... and small. I just don't see how they could do anything to any car that isn't made out of paper mache.

Fat chance on that counter suit, the dog owner is responsible.... Saw similar case on "People court"

I love dogs myself; large ones and the little ones.

I am very sorry for the loss.

I have to say that the pet owner is the person responsible here. There are leash laws in place (maybe not in Duluth?) for this very reason. Your dog should not be able to roam freely even in your very own front yard. It was his/her neglience that led to the loss of the Fester. As a result, I think it is unreasonable that the pet owner would even assume that the driver should be financially responsible for the replacement of Fester. Also, it is unreasonable if the pet owner thinks they should not be responsible for the damage to the vehicle.
