Maybe the Chief will be replaced with an ex-FBI agent, like in Chicago :}
Law Enforcement needs to be held to a higher standard, which gets back to the lowered hiring standards many Police Departments have implemented...to diversify....their specific departments. The lowering of standards, both for hiring, and public accountibility once hired are to blame for the violent beatings the victim endured. A local tv helicopter caught the beating as it ocurred. Many police departments have no performance appraisals systems in place, nor any periodic fitness mental fitness tests once the officers become paying union members......
In the NY Times 5/9/08, his mother stated
" that the group of officers that beat down her son were no different than the criminal gangs."
