Wanna be [bleep]s, or teen vandals have hit several locations along Shady Willow Lane. The large sign at Pioneer Elementary, graffittee still there after 3days. The same exact tagging in brown paint on the underpass of Old Sand Creek Bridge, visible from the park in the Meritage Development and while walking on the bike path. Does anyone know if the Amador Low Income Housing Develepment has opened yet?? On the Corner of Shady Willow Lane and Sand Creek, right across from the new Streets Mall being built. Seeing the graffittee at one of our top schools was disgraceful and also a harbinger of things to come with the large influx of low income renters and Section 8# criminal elements filling vacant new homes in our beautiful City.

It appears the same graffittee vandals have struck again over the weekend, this morning communters were greeted with a 20ft section of Graffittee on their way to work when driving torwards Lone Tree Way on Empire Way. Is this what the hardworking people of Brentwood want to see when driving to work each day. ?????? Blight seems to be spreading with the arrival of low income and Section #8 rental houses....... There is an a-l-t-u-r-n-a-t-i-v-e public school for problem teens just 2 blocks away from where the vandalism occurred, also several neighbors said that Amador Apts. had started letting tenants in. Not sure if its connected at all but, who knows. Time will tell. From the street it appears that same paint was used at all 3 locations reported, brown paint........and the Letters AFB ???? Asian style tagging....and no this is not a racist comment....I have seen asian graffittee in both Oakland and SF. So I know what it looks like. "Just fix this mess"

Unfortunately this has become a normal occurance in our neighborHOODs! These animals with no morals or manners will mark their turf that they believe is their own much like an animal urinates on trees. When these guys are caught they need to be hit with huge fines and community service hours cleaning up their messes!

I love the idea of slapping big fines on the vandals as well as having them work a whole bunch of community service hours. However, it's just as important that we paint over the graffiti the moment it shows up. The longer the tags last, the more desensitized to it we will become. I'd rather have the punitive community service hours be spent doing something positive like planting flowers and trees, mowing blighted lawns and painting blighted buildings, serving non-profit groups etc. Picking up trash, pulling weeds, and painting over their tags shouldn't be the primary tasks because it will only reinforce their destructiveness and will not expose the youngsters to ways to channel their energy for the good of the community. Graffiti removal, trash pickup and such should be handled by the city immediately and regularly. www.BrentwoodConnect.com

We even saw a community services officer from BPD the next day taking pics. Our crime watch group also took pics as soon as the neighbors reported it. Kudos to City Hall and Mayor Taylor for responding to our requests for cleanup so quickly. Our crime watch members always receive the best customer service when calling City Hall.
