Anybody read about the newest OJ scandal out of $C? It appears that while playing at a certain private university down south, OJ Mayo was taking all kinds of cash and gifts, including a $50K SUV from Ronnie Lott's ($C grad) car dealership, and payments made on behalf of OJ using a credit card from a charitable organization for sickle cell disease. This all occurred with an agent already known to the $C athletic department who had already gotten in trouble with an $C hoops convict previously (Jeff Trepagnier). Wow -- it never ceases to amaze me a) how slimy $C can get, and b)how long the NCAA has gone without dropping the hammer on these white collar criminals!!!! $C is like the Bush administration of college sports. Wouldn't be surprised if Haliburton was somehow involved.

It seems the NCAA is treating some schools the way Major League baseball treated the whole steroids fiasco. Ignore it becasue by doing so, you keep fans coming to games. I can't recall any of the major programs getting popped for violations I'm sure they're guilty of. Didn't Oklahoma get off with a wrist slap? What's going on with the Reggie Bush stuff? Cal got a year of probation for things that don't even come close. How many other lower tier teams have been penalized by the NCAA? It's a double standard meant to keep TV ratings high and the BCS in business.

Cal got slapped with a suspension because it was "running a renegade program." These were due to infractions that occurred with the basketball program and when the football program ran into minor infractions, they meted out a more severe punishment. So when is the NCAA going to put the hammer down on USC? What more information do they need when they have the agent testifying in the Bush scandal and now this.
