Well, apparently race IS an issue in the brutal Richmond Gang Rape.
(From Thursday's sfgate article. This forum will not allow me to post the url) -
Peter's cousin Monquasha Peter of Richmond burst into tears upon seeing him, and her mother, Monica Peter, dabbed her eyes.
Peter's family accused prosecutors of having racial motives. Peter is the only black suspect named in the case. Smith is white, and the other suspects are Latino.
Peter "didn't have anything to do with this," his aunt said. "He said everyone was just walking past, and he just kept moving when he saw something was going on.
"He's a good kid with no criminal record who likes to play soccer," she said. "I am going to prove his innocence.
"My nephew is scared," she added. "He is the one they've arrested who is black, and if they give my nephew a life sentence, I will sue Richmond. There is no way in hell I will see my nephew blamed in this because he is black."

Wow.
How’s that for compassion? She’s didn’t say a word about the victim or what a horrible crime this was.
She didn’t offer any prayers.
She just lashed out, accused us all of being racist, and defended her son’s behavior that (at the bare minimum) was a witness to a horrible crime in progress like that and not even call the cops.
Great job, Mom. Great job, Aunt. No wonder you both raised a sociopath.
Don’t tell me that everyone of those kids either had their own cell phone or access to a phone. Anyone of those people come have made an anonymous call to 911 to save that girl and not worry about incurring the wrath of the mob/gang mentality. But why would they? They came for the show.
Great job, Mom. Thanks again for reproducing.
Also, that response is typical of people of that race that subscribe to that culture of entitlement. It’s that culture that thinks they are owed something because the color of their skin. It’s that culture that thinks that they should never be held accountable for their actions. And when someone does challenge that culture and hold them responsible what is their first response? Cry racism.
Great job, Monquasha. God bless you too.

No criticism allowed...because he's black (?). Remember less than a year ago when "protest is the highest form of patriotism" NOT any More. Now it's racist if aimed at THE ONE.
Even cable outlets like MSNBC (MSLSD) dabble this type of smears. Political leaders must be tested by political criticism but apparently...not this ONE.

I love that Times columnist Tammerlin Drummond completely ignored that racism accusation in her poorly written article “What’s race got to do with it?”

If a racist event happens and the perps are minority it must not be discussed.

It's called the paradigm of victimhood equals privilege and it's the most dangerous thing to come out of the civil rights era. It has destroyed our country.

typical. Pass the buck. Take no responsibility.
The racist card should be destroyed. This is america. We are all americans. Dont cry 'its because (I'm, he's, she's, they're, we're...) black.

It’s a combination of a thug culture and a racial issue. The two go hand in hand but you can’t discuss or criticize the thug culture aspect of it without people getting uncomfortable about discussing the racial issue. Welcome to race relationships in 21st century America.
Bill Cosby, who I have far more respect for these days, was really vocal in criticizing that thug culture and even he was labeled by some as a racist. Welcome to race relationships in America.
One of the pherps was white, so that seems to disqualify the hate crime issue for most people. But what’s amazing to me is that none of the TV reports or major media outlets have even discussed the racial angle. If you are white in Richmond you are the minority. Look at that excellent CNN video of the victim’s friend at the town hall meeting (“There were 10-12 people loitering directly outside the dance with no student ID. You had 4 Richmond cops and rented security and no one was patrolling outside the dance. I saw the Assistant Principal look out and see those people hovering outside and he did nothing about it.”) She brought up the fact that as a white person you are the minority in Richmond and that makes you a target.
Was this a racial hate crime? I don’t know.
But if the roles were reversed. Say it was a black girl that was gang raped by a bunch of Latinos and a white guy, that point would be driven home. That would be lead story. Jesse Jackson [bleep] Sharpton would be issuing statements the NAACP would be involved. It would be a scene.
But in this case, it’s not even MENTIONED.
It’s one of the many elephants in the living room that most people like Times columnist Tammerlin Drummond want to pretend don’t exist.

You Bay Area folks are far too racist to consider this issue with any impartiality.
I propose you send your suspects here to Texas where we can insure a swift and speedy trial. All we ask is that you also send about fifteen feet of rope.

With a Mom and Aunt like you two, your boy never stood a chance! You are just angry because your alibies are not protecting him this time. I raised two boys who both grew up to be fine men. In their times of trouble they were held accountable because I (the parent) didn't lie for them or try to help them get away from any wrong doings. And that's what tought them wright from wrong! I am a proud parent of two REAL men. Congradulations! Your a proud parent and aunt of a rapist! You need to stop and think about what that 15 year old girl went through. Your boy could have stopped it! But you tought him not to!
Oh and.... I wrote this comment and i may be black, white, brown, Asian or any other race. But if I am black then you are calling me a racist? Hey I know allot black men who grew up and now have good paying jobs. Hmmmm.... maybe they were hired because they are black?
My point is that your comment, "you are ALL racist", makes no sense! Please don't have any more children! PLEASE!

Accountability one of the most important things children should be taught from a young age , if we love our children we will teach them right from wrong , morality, all the things that will create a well rounded healthy adult that is our jobs as parents , how can anyone claim race here it's unreal they need to take that [bleep] race card and burn it once and for all it's really dam well old now !! as well as the i was abused as a child one ,and while were at it they should start making it a law that in order to have a child you should pass a lengthy parenting class, have enough education and income to raise that child and do a mental health exam as well and only then should people be allowed to pro create i have seen dogs and cats with better parenting skills in the passed few years!!One more thing if anyone was to ever do that to one of my girls noone would have the chance to play the race card ,or any other card trust that !

It's funny when Blacks or Should I say African American get into "Trouble", all they do is call on "Racistism", Or bring out their "PAST". Man... who gives a [bleep] what yall been to, Who hasn't been there? Now they're all angry about the world, terrorizing a neighborhoods. Y'all should do a better job raising your childrens, instead of setting them up for failure. I dont have anything against African Americans, but most I met are jackasses.

It doesn't matter what color you are, all colors of people get arrested. For some reason its just easier for the Justice system to get the one that stands out. Maybe its because the older generations were brought up racist. If he didn't do anything then he has nothing to worry about. Then sue Richmond

playing the "Race Card" gives one a feeling of an entitlement. Anything to gain an edge hey?? How about this card? Let's call a spade a spade and take it for what it is. Accountability, how can you keep saying my Great grandma made me do it? LOL
