I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country; corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in High Places will follow, and the Money Power of the Country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the People, until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. Abraham Lincoln

Thanks for the cool web site. Lincoln’s wisdom was prophetic, as the multi-nationals are powerful entities with lots of money. Their power and influence is intimidating; so they must be watched closely. I loved it, when U.S. regulators and the EU felt it necessary to take microsoft out to the woodshed for a good spanking. It was also good thing, when the gov broke up AT&T into the "baby bells" years ago, but I see it is slowly reconstructing itself again. And what use to be a long list of international mega oil companies is becoming shorter and shorter. There does seem to be a consolidation of ownership. I think there is an upside to that argument, and a definite downside to it also. I'm hopeful that regulatory bodies in the U.S. and Europe can strike a fair balance between the two. You know, there seems to be an unending battle for fairness and equality from Lincoln's 1865 to the present. I wonder if he would have been pleased with the result?

I don't think he would be since the USA is being run by Cheney and Haliburton. ___________________________________________________________ A.V.J.S. --"Don't confuse kindness with weakness."
