Governor Schwarzenegger is down south tracking the big fire they have down there.
Last week, in an unprecedented strategic move, he ordered all available emergency fire fighters to go on stand by because of the predicted "Santa Ana Winds" and, most important, the airplanes and helicopters were ready and fighting from "DAY ONE"!
The Angel Island fire had enough air support; in a good tactical move, they declined airplanes in favor of helicopters that could quickly get water from the bay and drop it in the exact canyon or revine that needed it. And the fire, and remnants that re-lit the fire, judging from live radio reports (KCBS), was quickly put out.
 Firefighters and the entire support team, including our Governor, deserve our gratitude and thanks. Seldom have I seen an agency improve so much, so quickly. I cannot think of a comparable one.
No doubt, if Global Warming continues, (the amount of CO2 in the air is increasing at an accelerated rate) this is excellent training for the big fires to come next year, or the bigger ones the years after.Â
