Ok this has nothing to do with anything important, but does anyone know where I can obtain either a fruit or nut tree wood for my smoker. The once abundant orchards where I used to get wood are no longer here. Any ideas, besides the ones in the stores too expensive for heaving cooking I plan on doing, through out the summer.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Kinders usually has bags of different kinds of woods for smoking. In addition to the usual hickory and mesquite. I've gotten apple and alder woods there. Apple is a great wood for a sweeter more subtle flavor for pork, fowl or seafood.

Don't know about other ACE Hardwares, but the one in Brentwood has a HUGE selection now (they were sold out of every bag Memorial Day weekend).

There might be some in the "free" list. If you have a truck check outside our area.

From the Harvest Time website, these folks indicate they have firewood, just give them a call:
