What a wonderful article. I wish Richmong the very best. I moved from the Bay Area several years ago, to an area not far from Grass Valley. I "read" the Contra Costa Times via the net. And, as mentioned by Richmond, I no longer receive Channel 2. I am hoping that his final program will be available through the internet.

Sounds like it's going to be an emotional night. I guess that goes without saying when you've been around for as long as he has. Local news sure ain't the same anymore. I'm going to miss him.

Love the Channel 2 news and Dennis Richmond. Back in the early 80's, I was at a restaurant in Jack London Square having lunch with work pals (I think Shenanigans). I went to use the pay phone (no cells back then) and found a set of keys next to the phone. Discovered that they were Dennis' keys. Got to hand them back to him. He seemed very shy, but was very thankful and gracious. He was hot then, and remains hot (even at 65!). Frank has some seriously big shoes to fill. Lots of luck, Frank. Dennis: enjoy retirement and live life to the fullest! You will be sorely missed...

The years have flown by. I remember when I first met you. You were working the Dave McElhatten show. It was the day Ed Ames did his famous tomahawk throw. No injuries this time like on the old Carson show. I'm sure you'll enjoy your retirement no matter what you do. Come back down to the flatlands from time to time. Maybe you can do a special on KTVU.
