Long time resident of more than 50 years, Sylvia Ledford, 77 years old of Oakley California unwittingly signed over deed to her home to son Darrell Ledford, who used her house to pay off gambling debts. She now has 6 days to vacate the home, with no permanent place of resident for her. Son has not even been around or made arrangements for anyone to help her. If anyone knows of a reasonable priced apt or house for rent, please let us know. Her income is only 1400.00 a month. Now isn't that a wonderful son to have.....

Sounds like the son-from-hell. Perhaps she needs an attorney and to re-write her will...Dirty little bast***ard!

Don't think a re write of the will is necessary. She already signed over the house and lost it.....can't be much left.
If that piece of garbage was able to get her to sign over the deed, draining the bank accounts were a simple task and must have been the first to go.
Unfortunaly, I have a relative going through the same process as we speak....slowly milking away all his parents money.

At least he didn't go one step further like that scumbag son in Pleasanton Ernest Scherer III who killed his parents for his inheritance over a gambling debt. Some people just feel they are entitled to everything, even at the expense of their parents.

please tell me Oakley pd is at least investigating this as elder abuse.

Adult Protective Services would most likely be the ones doing the investigating. In these cases, they rarely can be of help because the parent(s) are giving them everything, by there own choice. Now that choice is driven purely from guilt and lots of coercion.
Just like 001 said, these pigs get the "they owe me" mentality or the "you owe me" and lets not forget the "always somebody elses fault" but their own. It really takes a special kind of person, to rob your parents blind.

The police department has to investigate APS has no law enforcement authority. APS may take an initial report that is forwarded to the local pd for investigation. The same thing occurs with CPS.

Exactly, but the problem is APS won't find any problems with what went on or is going on. Unless there is outward physical signs of abuse, just like in child cases.

We have a home for 1800/mo and my inlaws have one for 1600 here in oakley, If interested let me know. That is bringing the price down from our asking price. The one my inlaws have is smaller and on Cypress.
