I mentioned that last year's victory over Stanford made me a Cal Women's Basketball fan. Well, how about giving some love to Coach Boyle and her crew! A sweep of UCLA and USC. A #10 ranking before the sweep. Stanford got swept on the other hand. Not a bad weekend.

I believe Cal has moved up a few slots as a couple or three top 10 teams lost this past weekend. Frankly I think Cal's women hoops is going to put a scare on Stanfurd. Right now they lead the conference given Stanfurd's dump to $C.

I agree about Cal women's hoops...they have great chemistry, talent and depth. The one component that makes it all work is Coach Boyle. She gives them credit for what they do right, but never lets them think they're done. My prediction: Sweet 16 against the Paris twins of Oklahoma. Would that be sweet? I'll bet that team loves her.

Joanne Boyle is the women's hoop answer to Jeff Tedford. Her rise is just as fast and impressive.
I'm using my free ticket from the football season ticket to see Cal Stanfurd in women's hoops. It's gonna be great.

with the obvious exception that she apparently knows how to win against teams that she should not beat and how not to lose against teams that she *should* beat...hmmm, wonder if she can coach football?

Actually, she is a better coach than Tedford, since she knows how to create a team rather than build a program around a couple of players. I'd love to see some profit sharing among the coaches...Tedford makes about 10 times as much as anyone else. UCLA is the next women's home game...see ya there, and GO BEARS!

I actually don't feel so bad when the men blow close games now because the women are doing so great. That UCLA overtime game was really entertaining. Can't wait for Stanford. Way to go coach Boyle. SO glad she didn't take that job back east! She and the team really deserve our support.

The obvious quetion is can Boyle cross over and coach the men. This is the most talented the men have been since the Bozeman years, but the team still sucks. How do U lose to ASU at home!!!??? Defend the 3 at the end of the game for cryin out loud!!!!! Braun is the worst in-game coach in the conference, and he has been for a few years now. I still don't get not talking to the players during time outs. PLEASE make a change already before wasting the talent of Anderson, Boykins, Kamp, and Randle any further. Why not follow the path of Boyle, and get one of Duke's assistants/former players? It's obviously worked for the women.
I keep watching the men, but it's probably time to change over to XX.

you couldn't be more right about braun and the talent of this year's team. but, its really a shame that the administration seems to be content w/ the men's program being mediocre.
i don't follow women's bball too much, but coach boyle does seem to be a class act. reminds me of tedford in the sense that she could've gone to better program(s) but chose to stay and build on what she started at cal.
