Economists nationwide are proposing turning vacant malls into factories to produce american products....   So why are we building yet another mall in Brentwood, to stand idle with "For Lease" signs in shuttered storefronts????

CA has the worst economy with no signs of recovery anytime soon...buying habits have changed with the recession......Why another mall with developments emptying in Brentwood??

A little common business sense would go along way wouldnt it??

It has been in the paper.  I cannot remember if it is an extention of Lone Tree across 4 or if it was an extention of Sand Creek.  I think Lone Tree.  Too late too, I believe the deal is done.

There were factories and jobs out here, paper / cardboard mills along with warehouses on Wilbur and  on 6th and what used to be Sommersville rd , Anchor Glass, right around the corner. DuPont, and a couple of small chemical plants on Wilbur. Seems the only one left is the sheet rock place on Wilbur. There are differing opinions as to why most are gone now, I don't know all of the facts but I am sure that the constant complaints from the new Antioch residents along Hillcrest when that was new didn't help the situation much.

If I remember correctly, there is a proposed mall in Antioch off the future Sand Creek extension.  I think Antioch zoned the area for it, but with this economy I don't see it being build for years.
