Somebody needs to provide the US State Department with a copy of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and highlight the part that reads "Reaffirming the commitment of all Member States to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the other States of the region, as set out in the Helsinki Final Act and annex 2" Recognizing the secession of Kosovo, which had been previously identified as an autonomous provence of Serbia, within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, does not affirm or protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. When Montenegro withdrew from FRY, that left Serbia as the sole successor to FRY and the legitimate heir to all treaties and international obligations and privileges. This recognition is in clear violation of both the spirit and the letter of the resolution.
