The Law of Inverted Justice - the criminal walks away without a scratch, the innocent dies. I'm sure tired of these stories. I'm also sure the PD will catch flak for chasing, but they should have been, and I'm glad he was caught. Our condolences to the family of the passing motorist...

does that mean the guy driving the stolen car is going to be charged with murder because of that law, if someone dies while your commiting a crime, its murder??

The deputies should have put him out of OUR misery when they pulled him out of the car.

I think it's time to create a list of the Judges who allow these criminals who "have extensive criminal history" to be out on parole. I'm shocked but not surprised! Wake up people. No wonder more of us young, hard working citizens are becoming conservative in this very liberal society!! Another innocent person dies while the criminal survives! I'm sorry for the family!

As for the police chasing this parolee, I don't blame them at all!! It has to be done. I'd give my life to save future lives that this one criminal would've ruined (and has already) if they never caught him! Now, let's find out the Judge involved and don't give me the speech on our Judicial System, because the bottom line is in cases as such, the Judges make the call, unless jurors are involved. No wonder I never get chosen!

It’s a sad day when something like this takes place in our community. We lost an individual who lived and worked here and was a part of our community. Then, another thing crossed my mind; why was this piece of scum even on the streets of my town? Then I thought about the list of clowns and idiots that were instrumental in him being here, the judges, the public defenders, the criminal justice system and the bleeding heart liberals who support keeping this slime on “Our Streets.” Perhaps it’s time to take back “Our Streets!” One solution might include using an ankle bracelet when our jails are overcrowded and there is no room for them in jail. Then, someone has to be individually responsible for the criminal with, “an extensive criminal history in Contra Costa County.” Otherwise, there is no parole for the clown. As an additional incentive, “If” the individual was ever caught not using the device, that would result in him/her being locked up without possibility of parole or ever being released back into my community. It may not be perfect, but it might be a start.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Padilla family. Martin Padilla was such a nice person. When I was a student at CCC, it was always a good sign to see Martin. He either solved a problem (such as opening a locked door), or my favorite; he was there to tell students that class was canceled at the last minute.
I hope Moore is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and receives the maximum sentence.
