According to Frank Schubert, 'Yes on 8' campaign manager, the mobilization of LDS (Mormon) volunteers could save his campaign up to $26 million in costs related to micro-targeting persuadable voters.

So much for campaign finance rules.

There is no need for hate in the Prop 8 campaign. It's not about hate in any way. Prop 8 simply reaffirms the sacredness of the American Family where a mother and a father marry and raise children--is it too much to ask to protect this unit of society as a sacred and unique institution that has served us so well? There always have and will be alternative lifestyles throughout the world. But it's the traditional family, with a mother and father who love each other and have children together that have defined what marriage is and made societies strong since the beginning of time. My own mother and father each provided me with very distinct male and female guidance and love--each of which was invaluable in my upbringing.

Prop 8 brings California in line with the 44 other states that have enacted some type of legal action that reaffirms that marriage should be reserved only for a man and a woman. Americans recognize the value and uniqueness of marriage between a man and a woman. This does not mean that other relationships are to be hated or even invalidated. Love in any form has virtue. Prop 8 doesn't take anything away from other relationships. It simply states that marriage between a man and a woman is different from any other social alliance. And that's pretty hard to argue with.

I support Prop 8 becuase I believe in the value of children having both a mother and father in their home. That doesn't mean every marriage works out or creates a perfect home. It also doesn't mean others can't chose a different path. But there must be a sacred uniqueness (the instituton of marriage) reserved for those who want to pursue what has proven beyond any doubt to be the very best environment for the children.

Proposition 8 is about love and protecting something sacred, NOT about hate. Anyone who uses hate language in a prop 8 campaign neither understands the purpose of the bill nor is a part of the millions that supports it in California.

Prop. 8 is all about hate. Its about denying rights enjoyed by so-called mainstream citizens to those who are perceived as either immoral, perverted or just weirdly different. Its about amending the state constitution to allow and promote discrimination against people just because they don't fit someone else's definition of a family unit. Its about intolerance of those who do not share your own version of morality. And its definitely about putting yourself above other people who you want to keep marginalized and out of the mainstream of society. So to argue that prop. 8 is not about hate is not only completely false, its a pretty absurd cliam to make.

It's disappointing to learn of fellow Americans who would stoop to peddling lies to support their position.  Google "Six Consequences if Proposition 8 Fails" ... these are six totally false talking points that the "Yes on 8" campaign is trying to use to fire up their target voters.  Anyone who bothers to study the issue will quickly learn that these six "consequences" are total fabrications and sad examples of ugly fearmongering from the "Yes on 8" campaign.  Shame.
