email label: FROM CONTRA COSTA SHERIFF WARREN RUPF

VOTERS BEWARE - The brochure East County voters received in the mail from supervisor candidate Erik Nunn attacking Federal Glover for being a Section 8 landlord is false and lacks credibility and documentation. Official County records show that Federal Glover DOES NOT own ANY Section 8 properties in Contra Costa County. Of the properties listed in Mr. Nunn's attack brochure, one is the home where Federal Glover and his family reside; one isn't even owned by Federal Glover; two are residences where Federal's son and brother-in-law live with their families; and another is a parcel of land that he inherited from his father that does not even contain a living structure. Beware of untrue and unauthenticated mailers whose sources are not documented. Before you vote, please check the facts.

I often walk by this type of local housing and they are all in fine condition, well build and still look like new, after a few years in use. Such care and consideration for the well being of so many unwealthy and unempowered contradicts the accusations. I never question tangible facts because of a flimsy outrageous attack. The fellow does not seem to know when "too far" is too far to believe, what others would call, "out of touch" with people and reality. Umm.

It is incredible that the road to Public Office is thought to require Lies, Misrepresentation, Deception and, even, Vandalism. Many posters I placed have been destroyed or removed. Clearly, some one must be afraid others might see in public the words "Glover Delivers!". Such acts could be construed an ideological attack on our commonly held idea of Democracy, with free, open and honest elections. They will, no doubt, refuse to believe but, 4,084 of our best died trying to bring this form of freedom to others, not what they practice here. They dishonor their efforts.

Did they consider the consequences of their actions, like responsible adults? What message do they send with these Lies? Are they unable to see any of the consequences in their attacking civility in elections in our Democratic United States of America? Where are they from?

MikeSar, I've noticed that Supervisor Glover's signs are the one's getting torn down. I guess the dirty tricks squad (25/8) employed by Nunn & Seeno is hard at work in the dark of night. What you say is true and it doesn't say much about their respect for the democratic process. In the words of Pogo, "We have seen the enemy ... and it is us." All those good American soldiers who died protecting our freedoms, must be turning over in their graves.

The only time the District V supervisor candidates even had anything approaching a debate -- in contrast to numerous "round tables" -- was the one in front of the Contra Costa Council held in March. Check out: http://www.ibabuzz.com/insidepolitics/2008/04/28/election-round-tables-a... The candidates were able to respond to each other's accusations, it got quite lively. This should open a few eyes.
