I sent the following letter to the editor on Wednesday, but have still not received a response. Can anybody else answer it?
Dear Editor,
So before I jump to conclusions I would ask that you would clear something up for me and the rest of your readers. Out of all the politicians the Contra Costa Times have publicly supported, how many have been Democrats, Republicans, and other? I may be mistaken, but from my figures all you support are Democrats. So please publish these numbers to prove you are not a biased newspaper.

In my long life I have never read a newspaper that wasn't biased one way or the other so I don't know what they need to explain to you. Unfortunately they own nearly all the newspapers in the state and others. The Oakland Tribune doesn't read any different.
My mother used to say, in the 50's and 60's the Chronicle was "red" so she wouldn't read it. She read the Tribune instead, until she decided they were bad and changed to the Green Sheet which chaged to the Times. By the time she died she wouldn't read a newspaper because you couldn't believe a thing they wrote.
I think you will have to make the decision about bias yourself. It's a 50/50 bet.

Thought Policing takes many forms, particulary when the Old Media is playing Election Politics and wants the 'Vanilla' (clueless suburban taxpayers) to vote as they are told. Like the coverup of the Jesse Dirkhising Hate Crime Murder before the first of many 'matthew shepard' fundraising shows, the need to keep quiet about embarrasing facts takes precedent over any concern for 'news'.
The following story took place Before the recent election, but a search of the CC Times shows no hits.
Anyone who wonders just why 'our' old media 'watchdogs' havent shown much interest, should just read the headline and lead paragraph from the 'Advocate' - and much becomes clear...
Besides, its no big deal -unlike Church Burnings by 'racists' would be ...
- but then we certainly couldnt include 'la raza' activists as racists, at least not at Ha-Vad.
