Nation,

No holdout from Asomugha and he will report to camp on time.  Class move by the kid.  Davis needs to pay this man his grip at the end of the year.  Here's the link:

Also, you know it's training camp time when aDAM Schefter has nothing good to say about the Raiders so he has to harp on the fact that JaMarcus missed camp last year and may not know his way to Napa. What a walking adverstisement for birth control!!

LOL, good one! I've hated that arrogant runt for a while now but I think Shefter's starting to come around. Someone he knows must have clued him in on just how much he pissed off Raider's fans every time he opened his lips. He's actually made his last few reports concerning the Raiders in a more postive light- tossing in occasional compliments. The last time he pissed me off was when he reported Jerry Porter's signing with the Jaguars. He said that for two years in a row a WR from the Raiders would leave to flourish else-where. Like leaving here would instantly make Porter an all-star or sumpin. Well, Porter's a Li'l [bleep] and his hammy blew up already as I'm sure you already know. Sound like flourishing to you so far? Ha! I can't wait for him to shoot his mouth off again just so we can all have the pleasure of watching someone shut him right back up.

I'm not a big fan of Porter either.  For someone who has never been able to really establish himself as a solid threat he sure gets a lot of love from people and the NFL.  In my opinion his best year came during the Super Bowl campain but when you're behind 2 future HOF players and the league MVP is feeding you the rock how do you not have a good year?

"A lot of love from people and the NFL"????

By "people" I'm guessing you mean myself and the future? I haven't seen much support for Porter at all by other "people" and as far as the NFL is concerned, it's not so much they love Porter, but they hate Oakland...

Well, I got to say this, Porter has great ability, he will show his ability in Jacksonville, he will finally gets his true chance as a #1 receiver with a playoff bound team, and a GOOD QB (as in not Culpepper/McCown/Collins). As a side note, the guy has always gotten out of camp and started in the preseason. So what. We'll be right about this one just like all you CWOOD haters found out when we said CWOOD wasn't done and was shipped to GB to be one of the better corners in the league. Just like all you Fargas haters who have been saying for YEARS that Fargas should be cut. Well, well, well, Fargas is our starting QB now isn't he? Hmmm... Now we got McFadden, who although great, hasn't even played an NFL down yet, half the people on this board want to run Fargas off and discredit his abilities.

Oh King of the Platipi sitting there on the throne of the Mongoosian Valley kingdom, pretell, when oh when will people get smart and listen to the light and dark ways of the future?????

Navi,

I got your your back on CWood and I feel like Fargas is adequate...but Porter???  Come on man.  Just like it was said above, the dude is a first rate buffoon.  The Wynn Dixie version of T.O. Ability? Sure.  Ripped up physique? Definitely.  But what has the dude done to merit any credit whatsoever? One game in Denver a few year ago?  Naw dude.  The dude is rubbish and if JAX goes to the playoffs an does anything it for sure won't be because of Porter.  They already have a good team without that chump.  Word is that they like Williamson a whole lot more than Porter down here anyway.  He'll be the better of the two WR FA pickups they made.  Porter's a joke and he'll rub another coach the wrong way, just like almost every one he played for in Oakland. Stay up.

Jerry Porter did have a very good 2007 season, obviously to quit the team and get that big payoff from the Jags.  No temper tantrums, no feud with the coaches.  He even defended McClown when the fans were justifiably booing him.  As for his performance, it could've been better if not for the new system and McClown's inadequate passing.  If he wasn't making some astounding catches, he was fighting hard for the ball like in Green Bay.  In the home game against the Dolts, that TD could've been a sign of things to come if he had opted to stay with the team.  No worries though.  Curry slipped up in '07 but the team has a REAL receiver's coach now so expect the return of the guy who made the one-handed TD against Denver.

Strath,

I don't even know where to start with Porter had a "very good" 2007 season.  Based on what? Valley's exactly right. This dude flaunted himself as a #1 and acted like he's had that type of sack for years.  But what do his numbers say? 44 catches, 705 yards, and 6 TDs.  Dude where I come from, that's not very good and not even close to a "very good season" for a #1.

First, you recognize that he had LESS catches and yards than Curry, who is our #2!!! That right there eliminates him from "very good season" IMO, especially if you claim to be a #1.  Given that they had the same raggedy QB play and he still had worse stats, I can't really consider it a good year for a #1 that doesn't even get 50 catches and has less catches than the #2.  Plus he had the same number of receptions as Zach Miller.  Ridiculous.

But if that weren't enough, compare his 2007 stats to every other WR in the league.  He was 70th in receptions (behind Curry, Randel El, Josh Reed, and Arnaz Battle for god's sake!),  50th in yards (behind Randel El, Ike Hillard, and Roydell Williams, and 27th in TDs.  There are #1 WRs, #2WRs, TEs, and RBs with better stats in every single category.  Come on man, we deserve better than that.

Plus, in my book, not fighting with your coach, or getting benched, suspended, etc., doesn't make it a GOOD year for you.  That's what he is supposed to do.  The guy is rubbish.  We'll see in JAX man.  But I'm right there with you on Curry - here's hoping the best for him.  Stay up.

For a 4-11 team, those are good stats.  Let me mention the circumstances and you rate them.  First of all, they were a "run and run some more"  type of Weak Coast team first and foremost.  When you've got 3 running backs who gain over 100, one of which gets 1,000 for a little over half a season, the receiver's stats won't be that great.  Curry had more receptions and yards but Porter had more TDs, some he did fight for.  He fought for them because, second of all, McClown was the biggest bum on the team.  Granted, his victory over Denver was impressive but that's the only victory I can attribute to him.  He was noodle-armed and threw some really stupid interceptions.  How many victories could this team have had if Culpepper had been the starter most of the time or JaMarcus had been ready?  Third, Kiffin coached like he was gradually learning who to trust.  That meant the ball was spread around.  Guys who should've been more involved (like Madsen) weren't.  Guys who he staked his reputation on (Higgins and Williams) let him down.

If Porter hadn't had what was considered a good season, he wouldn't have conned all that money from the Jags.  He acted like a good soldier and it paid off.  Would I want him on the team?  Only if it were the Porter from 2007.  I could do without the guy from the previous 6 years.  Peace.

Strath,

Yeah man, OK. LOL.  I hear you that we were a run first team, but so was Tennesse and Washington and those WRs had better stats.  I just don't favor the cat and think that he is ridiculously overrated.  Oh well.  I haven't heard anybody say that his stats merit a very good season, so that's what caught me. As far as the whole receivers stats won't be good when a team has a 1000 yard back, I'm sure if I looked hard enough I would find a number of counter examples. Just for tops, I would argue Holt, Bruce, Plax, Hines, Harry, Wayne and Mason just for starters.  You can do it if you are a really good receiver and I just don't think he's that.  I mean look at Mason's stats: 103 recs, 1087 yards, 5 TDs an how can you be more run first than them? LOL.

Anyways, as far as him getting loot, that doesn't mean he had a good last season.  JAX is banking on his promise, not what he has merited.  Basically the same we did with LaMont when we doped mad coin on his sorry [bleep].  Oh well.  Eff them both.  LOL.  BTW - totally agreeed with your assessment on McCown. Stay up.

about the other receivers to a degree.  Mason?  He's the only receiver Baltimore had since Heap was injured.  The quarterback du jour had him as the ONLY option.   It's nitpicking but Porter had 1 more TD than Mason for all his receptions and yards and a better YPC.  Which one was the #1 for the Rams, Holt or Bruce?  You're right on in that case.  Plax and Hines as well.  Take Wayne out because of the way Peyton spreads the ball around.  Who's Harry?  The question is how would those guys thrive playing with a new head coach starting a new identity and a noodle-armed McClown?  Those other teams had other assets this team lacked the whole season such as, say, an easier schedule (this team's December schedule was criminal as bad as they're alleged to be) or decent officiating (Chicago game was stolen) although Baltimore went on the warpath about their home game against the Asterisks.

Let me make this clear.  I really don't care for that manipulative jerk.  If he'd really wanted Martz as his coach, he could've signed with the 49ers.  But he showed his true colors.  Given his current situation, I bet the Jags are regretting the move.  But who else could they have signed?  Javon Walker?

don't forget that they aid he could still be back by game one, that is why they had the surgery...i mean hell, even manning just had surgery...but "if" they are regretting (they are not but let's just say they are) their decision to bring in porter, then i am regretting the fact we brought in javon walker who put this team in the news not even 3 months he got signed.

these kats think porter was a problem, apparently they don't pay enough attention to our own roster.

Strath,

LOL at the Javon Walker comment.  But Walker is better than Porter man.  He's proved that much in his career. As far as Mason goes, he's legit - say what you want about he's stats, etc. But look over time, and he's done way more than Porter ever has despite always playing on run first teams.  A good #1 is a good #1 no matter what IMO.  They make suspect QBs look good.  Like T.O. did with Garcia and McNabb.  Isht, like even Galloway (who I don't even think is that good) does with Garcia.

On the other questions:  Harry = Harrison and Holt is the #1 in the Rams system and Bruce is the #2. Stay up.

because (1) he's done a better job of staying healthy and (2) Walker pouted his way off 2 teams.  Mason?  Hard to argue against his production.  This little debate would be a little more balanced if you could find a team more in line with Oakland's record.  As for suspect quarterbacks, McNabb is not one.  Team brass did him a favor in getting Owens but Owens self-destructed even worse than Porter.  That makes 2 guys who's burned bridges with 2 teams.

Strath,

Come on man.  You're digging your grave over there.  LOL. Porter better than Walker??? Based on what? Porter has never gotten 1000 yards receiving and Walker has done it twice. He has the same amount of TDs compared to Porter, but has been in the league 2 less years. He's only 31 receptions and about 120 yards behind Porter with 2 less years of experience. And Walker's YPC is better.

As far as finding a team with roughly the same record as Oakland, liek I said I don't need to.  He was worse than Curry and Miller on his own team.  Plus, BAL didn't have a good record. But it's cool if you think he's legit, I just don't.

As far as McNabb goes, you can have him.  "Suspect" maybe is strong on my part.  But he is overrated as all get out.  McNabb is a "name"guy, but he's not the elite status that people make him out to be, Owens did that for him.  I don't dislike McNabb, but I don't really consider him a "good" QB (by passing standards).  He's perpetually unhealthy, inaccurate, and I question the leadership ability (to a degree). PHI didn't do McNabb a favor by getting Owens, they needed Owens.  Believe this:  McNabb needed Owens a whole lot more that TO needed McNabb.  That much is proven IMO. Stay up.

The most recent Walker (the Hyde from Denver) is closer to what's on the roster now.  Kiffin isn't pleased with his conditioning and that Las Vegas debacle isn't helping.  Walker's been in the league 2 years less?  Make that 1 year given how Porter was suspended under Shell and that's the crux of my belief.  It's hard to tell how Porter could've fared his career so far if not for his bleeping personality.  The same goes for Walker in his Green Bay years.  His YPC overall with Denver is nothing to brag about.

Worse than Curry?  Not really.  Had fewer drops and  didn't set the team back with all those false starts.  I can't really fault Curry because he really prospered when Freddy B was the receiver coach and he will be impressive again under Lofton.  As for Zach Miller, he does have the luxury of going against linebackers when he's not wide open.  Apples and onions.

When it  comes to McNabb, we'll agree to disagree.  No question about his inability to stay healthy.  But talk about a team that needs a #1 receiver.

Anyway, like I told FUTURE, Porter's got his work cut out for him.  The Jag receiver corps took a hit when Matt Jones was arrested for cutting cocaine in a car.  Plus, Richardson was a bust in Minnesota so Porter's facing some double teams when he gets back from that injury.  Stay tuned.

Strath,

I get that you don't like Walker and I'm not much of a fan either.  Rame and Future say that he's a #2, which tempers my argument to a point.  That said, his stats are garbage IMO and he believes that he is a #1.  We really haven't had a dominant #1 (except for Randy who pretty much tanked it) and Porter hasn't done much IMO to make him special.  The fact that Curry is the #1 and Porter is the #2 to me makes it worse because if he was legit he should have beaten out Curry as the #1.  Anyways, we have Walker and I;d take him over Porter anyday.  Who knows now that he's all busted up from making it rain in Vegas.  Geez.

On McNab, it's cool if you think hes legit.  A lot of people do.  I just don't see it going back to Syracuse. It's funny because I like Vick and their careers were similar in McNabb's earlier years.  Vick has done way less than McNabb, but for some reason I gave that dude a pass.  Something about McNabb rubs me wrong.  TO called him basically a corporate sellout and for some reason that seems to resonate as true to me.  On the field, I don't think he's been good for a few years.  Take away TO and Westbrook and PHI would be rubbish.  But take away Moss and Maroney from Brady, or Addai and Harrison from Manning and they'd still win many games.  I guess that my point when I start thinking about "elite status" QBs.

When you say Richardson, do you mean Williamson? Stay up.

also, since you wanna stand up for that lil bioch walke,r who is even more of a bioch than porter could ever be, hell even if i didnt like porter i would say this because walker really is a bioch, like strath said, walker has burned 2 bridges maun, no one in denver likes him nor green bay....yeah he has had more yards in a season, but this guy really can't get past 7 games, and you expect anyone to take up for that dude?....porter does get hurt in the preseason, (like a lot of vets) but he is always there for game 1.

i expect porter to live up to his contract before i would expect walker to live up to his....before it's all said and done you will wind up not liking walker either....it'll be a long list of guys who won't here, lol.

Who's standing up for Walker?  Dude, saying that Walker is better than Porter doesn't make you a fan of Walker.  I don't like Walker that much, but I know you'll try to make it seem that I'm a fan since I took it to your dude.  You gotta be black and white like that. LOL.  He hasn't reall been the same since Darrent Williams was killed, so I kind of give the dude a pass.  But don't mistake it, I don't like him. maun i don't care who died in his arms, walker is a biochmade n__a for real....porter has had his contract extended by oakland, but no one ever did that to walker, they dont like him in 2 cities, he blames all of his problems on other teams.

his injuries don't have anything to do with with darrent dying....

now he is garbage....porter may get hurt in preseason, hell, i think he fakes them sometimes (not the last one) but he is there for game one...walker bioched about a contract in green bay then got hurt the first game he played looking like a [bleep], and he didn't do al that great in denver then rarely played last season and al davis dished 55 mil at him?

shiot...it's no wonder why we lose all the time....i'm gonna keep an eye on him this year....he better impress me...as much as i like ol' russ, i don't see him with many weapons and if he doesn't perform well, he will get a lot of the blame for sure.

i love ya like a brotha maun, i really do....a bigger brotha at that, but i am not gonna let anyone dog out my boy porter without a fight..i am a maun of my word, i said to everyone i would defend him to the death in '05 when i logged on here, and i still willl.....peace

IMO, I think our WR corps sucks and to me whether they we can stretch the field vertically is the X factor to the season.  Stay up.

maun i am still at work and pissed, lol.

porter's wasn't an act in hi slast year he did nothing wrong at....he was our 2nd wr but he still outscored curry...he didnt have as many catches as we would have liked but oh well, he caught what came to him, it was curry who had the dropsies and like rame said, curry had about 5 false starts...porter none...

it was porter who went over the middle, took some crushing [bleep] hits and kept getting back up...he is gone now...you wanted him to go because you didn't favor him, i can respectr that...i wanted him to leave because i wanted him to go to a winning team....

it's hell in oakland maun...you got players who played here that it was so bad in oakland once they left oakland they didn't even want to talk about it anymore and i still think our losing forced sapp to retire....he wasn't too old to where he couldn't play anymore.

porter is my boy because he is physical and i tend to take the physical players side of the fence, which is why i never liked moss from da get go...i always liked t.o.

anquan boldin...kellen winslow...just real physical [bleep] dudes because it fits my personality...i don't too much worry abiout players being in elite company because that unfortunately isn't meant for everyone....especially in oakland because we dont have elite players on any level in any position in terms of offense.....i mean there is a reason why we lose....hell we lost a lot in the 90's with timmy as our main weapon...

but yeah i like porter...my fav players on the team is now nam and justin...everyone else follows....for the first time i actually have less than 3 favorite players...

damn....now i gotta force myself to make a guy my fav....i won't do this until this team wins again because i was 23 the last time we won...28 going on 29...damn...lol...peace

Future,

Totally agreed with you.  I prefer physical players over "pretty" cats.  The only exception I tend to make is at the CB position.  For some reason, I tend to prefer the "U" like trash talking CBs.  Like DeAngelo Hall, even though he was from VT.  Same type of guy.

As far as fave players, I would have to say: DMAC, Morrison, Huff, Howard, DeAngelo, Howard, and Miller in that order.  I don't really have people that get me really excited though after the first 3.  But truthfully, I don't care as long as we win. And this is the first time that we haven't had a player that I really dislike.  The closest to that would be Walker. Stay up.

maun after talking and hanging with my personal trainer, i really wish he could never gotten hurt, he really did play for pitt for a year and a half...he showed me his actual jersey, articles and all other kinds of shiot...pro day pics...he wasn't invited to the combine...he went to southern arkansas...he and jordan babineaux were on the same team in college....back then he was 5'10 and 185 and he said he was a physical corner...now he is 210 pounds, big dude with no bodyfat...he tore his acl in a preseason game and he never recovered...he was kind of a troublemaker in college though, he was supposed to go to miami but he got in trouble so they declined him...

anyhoo, the guy trains the hell outta me and he has a lot of clients.....he knows a lot of players in the league right now...

anyhoo, oakland has no swagger and teams are not afraid of them so that is why they lose....it doesn't matter what stars get added to the team opposing team still are not afraid of them...if teams are not afraid of you, they willl beat you...oakland is gonna have to earn their respect.

i like guys like russ, huff, and other rooks i wanted but i don't make them favs until they show me something and it will take at least 2 years before i make them a favorite...i don't really acknowldge rooks...if you buy their jersey and they wind up sucking, you don't wear it anymore and i dont waste loot like that because i work too hard for that shiot anyway.

i wanted huff, but i am gonna have to see this kat make some plays once and for all....right now he is looking like the other safeties al davis has drafted that hasn't worked out.

hall talks too much and gets beat in the process..i don't pay attention to him....i will watch him closely though to see if he is gonna redeem himself because the last 2 seasons he fell off....howard isn't good against the run but excellent against the pass....love morrison and he may wind up being my fav before it's all over but i'd rather like a guy that no one else cares about...but shiot, no one really has potential.

love miller...he is good, but hell, i remember when jollley started off decent so we will have to see....in terms of dmac, i will have to see him first....my trainer told me that he will turn out well, so i will see...

lastly i was looking at an old article with william green in the spotlight coming into the nfl, it's funny how analysts and reporters said he was gonna be one of the best, (me too) and he turned out a waste of roster space... my trainer thought he would be good too, lol...peace

Well said Stew! Porter is an athlete! An athlete who can't stay healthy! Why is that? Because he cares more about how good he looks than how well he plays. If that weren't the case he would lay off of the weight-lifting and start doing a little more yoga and start focusing on his quickness, acceleration, and flexibillity. Can nobody else here see the similarities between Porter and Herschel Walker.? Walker was perhaps the greatest college running back ever! Then he came to the NFL and became obsessed with lifting weights. At 211 pounds in college Walker was still one of the fastest and strongest players on ANY football field. He had fluid hips and specialized in leaping completely over the line of scrimmage near the goal line. In the pros he bulked up to I don't know, like 225-230-ish and just wasn't the same player. He still had speed and power but he lost his abillity to move laterally and his hips were perhaps stiffer than any other RB I've seen. Of course, career-wise there are no similarities between the two- Porter was NEVER that good in college- he was a QB/S/WR and really didn't have a position. The only reason our dumb-a**es drafted him was because he ran a great 40 time and put up some great work-out #'s- TYPICAL US. His body type, how ever, is now similar to Walkers in the later part of his career. Porter is listed at 220 lbs, but he might be even bigger than that. Porter made some HUGE plays last year, and years before but he disappears more than he appears and he can't stay healthy. There are reasons for that. A]His approach towards his conditioning. B]His lack of focus. C] Inconsistent route running. D] Lack of field awareness. E] Total inabillity to sense and avoid that crushing hit from the safety which is always eminent given his opponents total disdain for him which comes as a result of F]him showing NO respect for his opponent while pumping himself up at the same time. G] His lack of heart- he IS the TIN MAN from the Wizard of OZ minus all the love-able qualities. Art Shell sucked....PERIOD. I disagree with everything he did EXCEPT for the way he blasted Porter. He ripped on Porter for talking himself up when he hadn't accoplished anything as a pro yet. He said you shouldn't talk about yourself like you're a Hall of Famer when you haven't even made a Pro-Bowl yet and he was absolutely right.

If Porter could ever get his head screwed on straight he would be a 'good' football player(Not great-just good), but he won't. If he could ever act like a decent human being he might gain some respect, but he won't. What you are and who you are as a person are far more important than having talent when it comes to becoming a good pro athlete. This much we know! If you want proof look no further than Marvin Harrison from the Colts. Harrison weighs a buck eighty when soaking wet but he has everything else you could ever want from a pro. Speed, Intelligence, Un-questioned Maticulous Dedication and he's a good person. He never brings attention to himself, he just kicks your a** all day long quietly. I hope at least ONE of the WR's we've drafted recently can become half the pro that he has been for years. I'm talking too much, I better just shut the F up now. GO RAIDERS!!!

Pooh,

Awesome man.  Flat awesome post.  I agree with everything that you said.  Porter has "conditioning" if you mean that he is in good shape.  But with regard to playing every play and continuing to make impact throughout a game - no way.  There were too many times that he disappeared in games with lesser CBs guarding him (both ability-wise and in physical stature).  I am pretty convinced that in his mind he believes he's a #1, but I never saw that type of impact (except for one game against Denver and on 1 catch in GB).  Sorry man, that doesn't get me all hot and bothered. Great post and stay up.

notice how stew keeps mentioning porter's physique?...lol...he jealous maun...ignore that shiot, it's a no win debate...they hatin' on the guy, hahahahahahaha....porter is selfish and all that other shiot they describe him as, but do they realize how many selfish guys are on this team, then and NOW?....

you let go of porter and bring in walker, who is more selfish than porter ever has been....hell deangelo is one as well...hell, jim more jr, who was a laid back young coach didn't even like him...

all they ever do is hate on porter but the truth of the matter is, you will always have selfish players on this team so if the are gonna hate on one then they gotta hate on all of them...

i am glad porter went to a winning team because winning seems to be too much of a challenge in oakland.....it's good to know we still have kats that will stand up porter even if they don't like him fans on here....he got a bad wrap because of art shell who single handedly f__ked up a season of ours.....peace

Are you assuming that the Jags got their receiving core intact?  If so, you've forgotten how one of them, Matt Jones, was busted for separating cocaine in a car!?  He did this after the draft when they could've selected one.  As for his partner, Richardson, isn't he the bust from Minnesota?  It wouldn't be too much to go out on a limb and say Oakland's got a better squad of receivers than them.  When Porter comes back, he can expect a steady diet of double-teaming because he's it for the Jags, especially with his contract.

Stew,

Porter has decent stats, plus who has been throwing him the ball?

Navi,

Dawg - Eff Porter. His stats are rubbish.  The "He didn't have a good QB" argument is a moot point in my book for two reasons.  First: He had less catches than the number #2 and the same as the TE on his same team.  44 catches?  Naw homie.  That's not getting it done.  As a #1 you should be the dominant weapon in the passing game.  That's what a #1 is and he's never been that, despite having opportunities to do so with a number of QBs.  I mean this dude thought he was better than Rice and Brown.  Seriously???

Second:  Take a look at Mason's 2007 stats for BAL and then holler at me about Porter.  Mason's a legit receiver and he had damn near no QB play all season: a broke down McNair, Boller, and Troy Smith?  Pathetic.  Yet the cat had more than 2 times the recs and over 1000 yards.  And like I was saying to Strath, BAL is RUN first.  Porter's a joke. Being dieseled up and wearing the Million Dollar Belt doesn't make you a good receiver. Making catches and scoring TDs does. Stay up.

wow, where was i in this debate?...alright maun, since you wanna diss my boy porter, you say the guy will rub kats the wrong way.

sounds like al davis and everyone else in raiderland...rubbing people the wrong way is what they do anyway....porter can definitely be a me first guy, no doubt, but usually that is all we have on the team....why blame the guy?...al covets those types of players...and yeah a tight end did have more passes, but shiot, porter did lead in td's and for the record, porter wasn't the number 1 wr (last year), it was curry, who really didn't do a good job dropping passes all the damn time and pretty much not catching anything in the 2nd half of games.

williamson sucks, i don't care what he is doing in jagville...ask the kats in minnesota if they care, at least porter still has some fans with oakland fans.

stop hating....and why is mongoose still hating on wood i don't know.

and you guys say that me and sac talk about the same ol shiot.

Future,

I knew you'd find your way to a Porter convo, just like flies to isht.  LOL - cause he's definitely a piece of isht! Plus, I knew you'd say "he's jealous" of Porter. LMAO.  Too funny, but you haven't mentionned to these cats that I have my own title belt so why be jealous? LOL!!!

Man you can defend that cat all day.  But believe that he doesn't care about you worth a damn.  He's a me, me, me cat that has never really produced and he won't in JAX.  He's no Moss and Garrard ain't no Brady.  But you got it twisted man, Porter was the #1 and Curry was the two.  Regardless, look at those stats.  The same number of catches as your rookie TE???  Eff That.  If that's true then you better better have a hellified TE like CLE, IND, or DAL or some isht like that.  44 catches isn't very good as a starting #1 or #2 WR.

Let me break you down on Porter with a guy you hate: Reggie Bush.  Now Porter get's "paid" to catch right?  And Bush isn't "getting paid" to catch, right?  But when you look at those receiving numbers, guess who looks better?  Bush.

In Bush's best year (06) receiving he had 742 yards.  That's better than Porter is 6 of the EIGHT years that Porter has been in the league.  And remember, you hate on Bush because he doesn't get "paid" to catch.  Bush's worst year was this one (417).  And you know what? Still better than Porter in 4 of those years, or 1/2 Porter's career.  Come on man, you won't give props to Bush  - but that cat has average 80+ catches a year.  Buy why should someone give props to Porter - what does Porter average??? 35.5  Isht, Porter hasn't had an 80 rec season yet!  Hell no, man.  I'm giving the cat no props, just like you don't give Bush any.

Dawg, you just like the cat because other people don't.  He's a dude that people love to hate which makes you like him more.  Plus, he's ripped and you "use that for inspiration".  LOL. That's cool.  Love that dude to death if you want.  But statswise, I expect a whole lot more from my #1s.  And 35.5 catches a less than 4 TDs year doesn't get it done in my book. Stay up.

I think if I were a trainer in the corner of the ones fightin for Porter, I would have thrown in the white towel after that last post! lol  I thought you were a little over the top with most of your posts considering you kept comparing Porter to number one guys from last year and Curry was listed as the number 1 last year (Future is right on that point).

However, that comparison you made of him to Reggie Bush just delivered a 10 count for a KO.  That has officially put me on the Porter is overrated bandwagon and when he was a Raider, I helped defend him but now, I am not going to because he really has not done enough to deserve my defense lol.  I'm out.

Rame,

What up my man? Yeah man he's a joke.  It's funny that you mention that he was a #2.  I couldn't beliecve that, but you and Future must be right.  That said, why is he a #2? It would be one thing to be that with Moss as the #1, but with Curry as the #1?? How did Curry go from the #3 to the #1 over Porter, if dude has all this "amazing" ability? Kinda says something about the cat to not seize that #1.

Thanks for the props on the Bush comparison. LOL.  Pretty much sums it IMO. Porter definitely doesn't deserve you.  LOL!!! Stay up.

BTW - You still on point to get down here for the game in December?

Yeah man now that Porter is not a Raider, I am through wasting my breath defending him against the Porter haters lol.  Speaking of the game, I got the money to buy the tickets for both the plane and the game but how are we going to go about buying these tickets?  I would like for us to be all able to sit together and didn't you say you got peeps coming down from STL for that game too?  Let me know man.  I got my card ready to go.  Now when you say Moss, are you talking about the guy who you said was all done when he left us? lol  Sorry man, I just pulled a Future on you.  lol  I'm out!

you know it realy wasn't just him who thought moss was gonna suck in new england, there were a few more...i don't understand why they would think that, stew says he had great stats because of their spread offense, but i still beg to differ on that...i mean they have a better o-line, better qb, better coached, ah hell, they were just all out better.

if you have art shell as a coach, you can't help but tank, did you hear what andrew walter said about art shell and company?...he said the same thing porter said, that coaching staff was totally clueless and they didn't know what they were doing.

it's about time someone besids porter spoke the truth about that season....peace

So if Stew wasn't the one that said that, then why did you forward me his email talking about Moss?  Or was it you that said that?  I need to know who said it so I will stop making ignorant comments lol.  I agree with you that the spread offense has absolutely the least to do with his success.

The Qb, the offensive line, the other skil players, and the coaching in that order had more to do with that ridiculous season last year than the spread offense which would probably be next on the list.  I haven't read Walter's comments and I will soon.  I'll holla at ya later.

Rame,

Yeah I though Moss was done and was wrong, but I have already stated that a few times.  Future just like to rub it in, but I don't know why.  I could care less about Moss.  I hated him in MN and I didn't like him in OAK.  I don't feel "wronged" by Moss and actually am glad he's not on the squad just like Sapp.  But, Future's a cat that likes to point out when you are wrong so he can be "king of predictions" or some isht like that. LOL.

I also didn't say that the srpead was "the only" reason he was better.  What I said was that the spread is a perfect fit for him, because it inflates the amount of passes a game and requires almost no blocking in a running game for WRs.  That's a good fit for Moss.  It goes without saying that NE was a better teams all around, but the spread inflates numbers dawg.  It's a gimmicky offense and it's how teams like TT in college get crazy offensive numbers.  It's like the 2000s version of the run and shoot.  Moss benifited greatly from the offense, but clearly it's not the only reason.  IMO, the main reason he was better is because he just flat wanted to be. Stay up.

I hear what you are saying about their offense but no clown in their offense ever put up the numbers that Moss put up last year.  Deion Branch, Troy Brown, and all the other number 1's they have had over the years before Moss and with Brady at QB still didn't do it so I think its a direct reflection of giving a superstar like Moss everything he needs to be successful and then he puts in his best effort because of it.

In Oakland it was clear he didn't give his best but Oakland didn't give him their best.  They are spending all kind of money now but what did they give Moss?  Art Shell? Tom Walsh? Andrew Walter? Kerry Collins? Norv Turner?  Do I have to continue lol.  I knew when they traded him to NE that he was not only going to have a good year but that he would have a hall of fame type year because that is what happens when you know how to put great players and coaches together.  I'm out.

hahahahaha...classic...i actually laughed for about 40 seconds before i responded to this message...just thinking about shell pisses me off...that is a season i can't get over...and to think, people blames porter for that shiot...that was all shell....you can bet it was shell that made moss want to leave for damn sure, lol...

the whole scene is still in my mind...he called the team an "asylum" on national television....and people said porter did his team bad?...please....the clipboard...hahahahahaha...."coaches decision"....hahahahahaha....."fox in da henhouse"...hahahahaahahaha.....that dumb look on the sidelines...."don't let anyone beat you in your house"....hahahahahaha...."we're running the same plays as others teams".....hahahahaha.

what the f__k was this guy thinking?...hahahahaha.

hey neither one of us like new england but we agree that they know how to put a team together.

can't say the same for oakland....i mean, people are ripping porter every chance they get but al signs a guy for 50 plus mil and now he has to try to keep him from retiring?..

hahahahahahaha....oh my god, i got tears in my eyes maun...peace

Speaking of Shell, what kind of black man uses a phrase like "fox in the henhouse"? LMAO!!!! This team under Shell 2 years ago was the most pathetic team I have seen in my entire life watching football.  I mean Porter was the only one that seen it coming way before it started.  He was the only one that wasnt willing to by the hype.

I am really disturbed that Walker is thinking anything close to retirement right now.  This punk couldn't even make it through a few weeks of camp because he is so traumatized over what has happened.  Well stop going to clubs and making it rain if that will save him some grief.  Good thing is that he did good against the 49ers yesterday.  I'm out

hahahaha yeah you're right...i never even heard of that phrase before and my dad was born in '48 and he never used it either....lol....

i mean people call porter a sellout, why i dont know...whether they think he was good or not, the guy has played in "this" era...i saw the interview where he said when he looked at the playbook and when the coaching staff were drawing up plays on the board and speaking to players, he said "they were clueless"...

say what they want about porter, but he is no fool and after watching that team that year i will never blame porter...never, ever, ever....he was right....all the way right...all the way right so much that shell tried to kick porter out and in the end shell got kicked out...that had to make him feel like a fool...

shell had me put in the doctors office so much that i will never respect that guy again...he embarrassed me a lot that year as i took major criticism from my coworkers.

i am not a wlaker fan at all...to be continued....he isn't mentlaly there even after a few good catches...i hear deangelo got bruend for two td's...this is a sign of more things to come....he isn't that good...i already have a post prepared if he winds up sucking....peace

Art Shell did embarrass you, me and the entire raider nation too many times.  Porter saw it coming and I always credit him for that no matter where he is now.  As far as Walker goes, he has to prove himself before I throw any support behind.  As of right now, he's still getting paid because of Brett Favre.  He has yet to prove he can "the man" without him,
