Community outrage against Female Officer and killing of a Senior

For some odd reason,  OPD has not released the video to the public or the media.   Eyewitnesses at the scene stated that the elderly senior had placed the hatchet on the floor was no where near it and told the officer he was going home,  he just wanted to buy some cigarettes.   The community and the media eagerly awaiting the release of the OPD video....

As he walked through the door he was gunned down, not once, not twice but four bullets pumped into him.   Was the female officer unable  to inept to use Best Practices and mame the guy, until she could handcuff him.       Once again an abuse of power against a civilian.      Pumping four bullets to "apprehend" an elderly senior out for cigarettes.

The propaganda machine is already churning at OPD.   When the storeowner was interviewed he stated he guy was not bothering the store owner or anyone else.

Looks like overkill and another blatant abuse of power, by someone that should never have held the position of a PEACE OFFICER....

Lowered standards have flooded some liberal police departments with women that can not perform the duties required, and when faced with a crisis....use overkill or call in three male offices to do the work that a single officer could have talked down....

Last week an 81yr old senior tazed by an officer in Stockton, this week an African American senior pummeled with 4 shots, one bullet would have done the job, 4 is overkill and target practice on anther human being.

recent shooting.    Just on the news.    Hope they release that video soon,   this could be a powder keg waiting to go off.    Similar to the Bart Officer/incident.

The deeper they dig the hole the more facts are exposed......for the public to see.

you dont point a knife at any law enforcement unless you obviously want fate to end your life. People die of less just going into there pocket's. That individual opened the door and yes OPD walked right through it. In the streets people  kill for  a bad look. Yes, she's female vs man and yes that man held a knife and yes she put him down fortunately getting wacked. Hey, leave the knife @home in the kitchen genius avoid it all together. Im on the streets someone holds a knife in a threatening matter. Wouldnt ever think twice or be sympathetic toward's anybody holding a knife in any threatening manner. You got to be kidding me right's given with a knife wielding suspect.

First....this wasn't a "little old man" or a "senior". A senior is a little old man on a fixed income with a cane....not a strapping 250 lb plus man with a hatchet. Big difference. It's no "odd reason" OPD hasn't released the video tape. There's an investigation being conducted and there are people who witnessed the shooting who the police do not want "influenced" by the tape. An investigation is an attempt to find "truth", whatever that truth may be. It appears the truth is exactly what was told by the officer.....and the tape. Give it time. Investigations aren't concluded simply by "your right to know". If it were your family member, you would want the "truth" about what happened.....and the truth takes time to compile.

Unfortunatately, police aren't trained to "mame" a suspect....you shoot to kill, center mass. You aren't trained to shoot knees, knuckles or practice "scare tactics" like on CSI where you shoot the ax out of someone's hand. This is real life or death......you shoot to kill.

Geez, how do you even defend such an ignorant comment about female verus male peace officers? I think that ignorant comments or views deserve no response other than if you had a glock to your head and were robbed, you would care not what they packed....as long as they were packing something when they came.

In summary, this man was not a "senior" in the spirit of the word. He was a man with a hatchet. He was confronted by a police officer and instructed to put it down. He did not. Moral of the story? When you are told by a police officer to do something.....you do it. You ask questions or file complaints later....but you comply in the moment. If he had done that, we wouldn't be having this debate.

release anything until a fair and impartial decision can be made.

There needs to be some support, back up, guard dog etc... in managing media these days. There was a time when media was told to back off, as they were out of control and creating more harm than good. They listened...and all was a bit less over the top for a while. What a relief.

Not trying to beat up media, as it is necessary and can do some good. But it has been a bit hungry lately and needs to make $ too.

The scale is tipping back now and the more this is allowed, the less respect I will have for Obama administration, States and local admin too.

Obama is also being attacked unnecessarily - hope he sees the love-hate thing going on with media and the importance of nipping it the bud - pronto. Or the very thing he is allowing will be the master of his own demise ;(
