How can we hold politicians accountable if they have no responsibility or control of school boundaries? I am tempted to add suitable adjectives but, my teacher said, they would not help my point receive a proper hearing, proper attention and maybe, just maybe, make one covert to the view that political issues should be left to elected political leaders we can, then, and only then, hold accountable for political issues. Let Educators deal with Education and Political Oficials deal with housing, funding priorities and other political issues.

Why dismiss an School Board Official that does a great job on Education issues? These issues are the only ones they should be concerned. They, according to many, seem ignored and decaying, v.g., Should the Teaching of Honesty be an Educational Issue? One could argue that recent scandals about sex and grades shows the failure of Education, in some sense, best left to Education Experts? Another issue might be to what extent can School Boards go to certify that a student really lives at the address they gave. Can they hire, costly, private detectives to violate personal freedom rights the Police would never condone or approve? It was actually proposed at a hearing I attended. I left when I noted the little concern that School Board showed for Minority Rights, only to try to evict some 400 students, a few years ago. Should they develop their own Police Department to enforce their own laws?

Land use, water supply and water removal facilities and funding provisions, etc., ought to be seen as part of our Political Leaders concerns, a part of a larger plan for the future, including Zonning. Surely, City officials approve streets, traffic control, etc.

How can Concord, invite a major business to come to the area if, it has to add "but, by the way, we have no responsibility and have nothing to say as to whether the school boundaries will, or will not include the area we want to make available to your workers! We can tell you what they are now, but they are set and changed only by an elected and Independent School Board." What kind of invitation is that? What other areas of responsibility are undefined to us, now, and we will learn about them only, AFTER we go there and begin to wonder.
