Cutler's a moron!

“If they can’t get the running game going, it’s gonna make a long day for him,” Cutler said. `Probably the coaches are gonna keep things basic, try to run the ball and get eight in the box so he gets some one-on-ones outside. And he’s going to see some blitzes that he’s not accustomed to seeing, because teams are gonna test him, see if he’s on his stuff protection-wise. It’s a learning process. There’s a learning curve, and you’ve got to go through it to be successful.”

Dope!

He's exactly right.  He may not have the experience to open his mouth about this, but everything he says is exactly right.  JR needs to prove himself and so does this team.  And each factor is very heavily reliant on the other.

For starters, he's talking smack. Secondly, he's revealing what the Denver D is going to be keying on. What he said dingalings is what guys like us write on this board. It's not what the opposing QB is supposed to say.

The smart move is say nothing other than your excited to get the season going and your looking forward to what Jamarcus brings.

But I thank him, he just gave our offensive line, WR's and QB a shot of adrenaline. Hopefully, they will come out and throw the ball down their freakin' gay-ass throats.

that really isn't my definition of smack talk...and even if he was, we are rivals, there is nothing wrong with that...if a raider did that you would not say anything bad about it.

i don't like denver, but if any team can brag about us, it's them...they have owned us the last few years, that one win we had last year isn't enough to brag about....actually shanahan has owned us for a long time.

al really needs to go ahead and pay him his money, lol.

what's wrong his statement? It makes perfect sense. I'm sure as a young qb he experienced the same thing.

What was wrong with that comment?  It's the truth.  If Oakland needed to hear this from Cutler to figure out what their defensive game plan was then I'm available...cheap...I've known this for a while.

It's standard stuff.  Young and inexperienced QB, bad to mildly acceptable WR's and a offense that is better suited to run than pass means you run to set up the pass.  Defenses line up to defend the run first and pass second.

Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me...

Boy that's some homework. "If Raiders can't they throw it's gonna be ugly for them." What if the Broncos can't throw? He sounded like a punk-b/i/t/c/h who thinks his team is vastly superior to ours!!

I gaurantee that quote is hanging somewhere in the Raider locker room and if we win through the air - someone will bring it up.

If the Raiders can't throw, it IS going to be ugly for them.  Everyone knows that.  Kiff has been saying that for weeks now.  Just because an opponent says it (and in no malicious way mind you) does not make it bulletin board material.  The Raiders are not going to try any harder to succeed in the passing department then they would in any other game.  If anything, they would probably be trying to run more initially as a result of Champ Bailey lining up across the field.

As for seeming to think the Broncos are a vastly superior team, in case you haven't followed the league for the last 25 years, or even the last 5, the Broncos are a vastly superior team.  Them having a bad year (7-9) would be a huge success for us.  So until we can prove that we are a better team, it is nothing to get riled up about.

In case you weren't following the Donks too closely last year they were extremely fortunate to be 7-9.  I'm sure you recall week 2 and the infamous timeout.  They were no less lucky on their opening day against Buffalo.  Overall they were 4-1 in games decided by 3 or less points.  They easily could have been 5-11 or even 4-12.

We split the season series with them 1-1.  I think it is a stretch to maintain they are a superior team now and "vastly superior"  this year or last is outlandish.  For some reason the subjective power rankings had them as a super bowl contender most of last year.  That was absurd.

I'll give Shanarat his due. He has shown he can make the most of a bad situation. Kif will be starting JR and if JR plays poorly then this game may not be close.  Shanarat knows that and as Cutler indicated you can bet Shanarat's focus will be on rattling JR.

well consider that the Donks were one timeout from being 6-10 and the Raiders 5-11. There isn't much difference there.  Vastly superior last year or this? No way.

If JR produces tomorrow then we should  have sole possesion of first place  and our playoff fantasy is still alive for at least 2 more weeks.

that is fine and all but i won't take too much pride in being at the top of the division in game 1....we were leading last year in the first four games last season if you can recall.

we wound up finishing last....call my response what you will but i call it facing reality.....peace

Seriously are you in High School?

There's nothing inflamatory about those quotes what-so-ever.  Particularly coming from a young QB who just 3 short years ago was walking into the same thing.  I'm sure he speaks from experience considering in Denver if they couldn't get the running game going, as a rookie QB it makes things difficult.

In case you didn't already know this, when you can't get the running game working it makes it difficult for even veteran QB's to throw.

I was reading an article in the Denver Post on Saturday where they had quoted Shanahan as saying that he was saying that Oaklands descision to run first was a good idea with a young QB.  In fact, he did it with Plummer while he was there.  Interestingly enough it seemed to be a dig on Plummer rather than anybody else.  But I guess here's just another good example of locker room material only this time it's a head coach giving away the game plan!  What a bunch of cocky bastards there in Denver!

Well, we might have a reason to be cocky except this is just the first game of the season against a less thanmediocre team. Shanahan knows what his team has, and if you mistake honesty for cockiness you are in store for a very, very long season raiderettes.  It's time for the dark reign of Al Davis to end in Oak-town. If I was a raiderette I would be marching the streets with torches and pitchforks demanding his resgination.
