10-24-09 If you read the Times story on the Alhambra/Las Lomas game , it pretty much told the story as Cellini in the closing seconds scored on a leaping plunge to stop Las Lomas 41-35....this time the Bulldogs did very well at reducing their penalitiles, but the pass defense was still not there....Lucas Gorton hit Chase Herring about six times as the pass defense let Herring get in the clear without sticking with him and the Bulldogs paid for it. Waters was another story for Las Lomas as he ran up 172 yards, running over and thru the bull dog line...On waters TD score, he was buried with Bulldogs, but managed to break free and galloped the final 30 yards....In the third quarter, Alhambra went flat while leading 28-12 and let Las Lomas tie the game, but went ahead 35-28 only to have LL tie the game again...Again, it was Cellini that saved the day and with Richard Calhoun's 170 yards, it looked like Alhambra was going to route Las Lomas, but instead it was a shoot out.....
