Who patrols Discovery Bay and why is every crime there kept Quiet? I know there are police calls out there. People have a right to know about crime in Discovery Bay.
Find Supervisor Piepho and her husband. They will tell you, they run the place! Better yet, they won't tell you because people only know what they want you to know.
You can read the police logs for Discovery Bay, Oakley and Brentwood in the weekly Discovery Bay Press. Also, pages 3 or 4 in the local edition of the Contra Costa Times will have reports. Part of the reason you do not reach much is that there is not the same level of crime due to the lower population, the gated communities and the sense of family in many neighborhoods. Watchful neighbors and no bus also make it harder to get here. The new Sheriff Substation will be happy to share this information with you.
I live in Discovery Bay and we have a growing Gang Problem in this area as well. It's really hush hush because the gang "Nortenos" are trying to keep low-profile so they do not get "identified", but the neighbors know about and are making regular calls "anonymously" the Sheriff Departments several times on a daily basis. Apparently, these Gangs are moving in from the San Jose areas through Livermore and Antioch/Oakley. Discovery Bay is next in this Gangs quest for territory.
There is also a Meth problem in the area. Again, neighbors do not want to discuss it for fear of retalliation. The area of Antioch closest to Hwy 4 is having a huge Meth problem right now. The new Sheriff Sub Station and the two permanent Sheriffs in the area will hopefully get the problem under control.
