Hey Jan, If this quote is not taken out of context (which it doesn't appear to be), then the next question is "why" didn't team leaders step up when they needed to? Go Bears!

Not sure how this compares to Holmoe but if we estimate 44 games in his 4 years and straight-line the production between halves, that works out to 9.2 points per 2nd half in the Holmoe years. Any way that you look at it, when you're performing WAY below the Holmoe years, that's pitiful. When you're performing that way with the talent that Tedford has, that's just down right criminal; particularly when you're banking the bux that Tedford is. Like it or not, coaching is a business of 'what have you done for me lately'. The result? A bunch of empty seats in the Cal section for the Big Game, even *with* the downsized Furd stadium. The result? (As of now) lagging recruiting that isn't likely to get better until the Bears do. The result? More pain for Alums until something is done.
