Fogey, I think you mean commodity. I didn't really know much about him beyond his POW experience because I didn't pay much attention to the primaries. In some respects, that's true for both the candidates. It's all coming out now, so I look forward to the debates when you get a side-by-side comparison of how they feel about important issues. That may be also true for a lot of voters.
William H. was Robert A.'s daddy. JFK included Robert A. in his book Profiles In Courage. Robert A. was a prominent conservative Republican senator and made three unsuccessful runs for the presidency.
Up to now we have seen the pictures and heard the words the Political Consultants crafted, in some cases to represent and in other cases to distort the true views of the condidates. We have been in a theatre where Cecil B. De Mille Directed the performance for maximum emotional impact. In some cases, this may have been authentic, how can I tell? One side say theirs is authentic and the other phony! So, what?
Then come the debates, where the tough questions will come out and BOTH sides know the questions and experts will prepare the misleading answers required to get elected. Of course, this is true of one but not the other but, which is "the one" and which is "the other"? Well, we are in luck! One side decided that one candidate is not "prep", not yet, not ready to face questions, was she picked for her "Good Looks", my, wait till the voters begin to wonder about "window dressing" -some may feel misled or "used". The other three candidates will be asked question by the press in many interviews this week because they are "ready" to play -the "charade"? They treat "telling the truth" as a game in which the winner is one that hides his views best and, or, confuses the listener.
Oh yes, did I fail to say that "They are all Patriotic and willing to die for our country" but not willing to tell the truth if it might cost him the election. Isn't Democracy marvelous? We get to watch all kinds of tested questions and answers to make sure the truth is well hidden... Where did we go wrong, Ma?

Is that Taft related to William H. Taft (27th President)? I see they were both Republicans.
