Is this some high speed stealth bullet train or something? Twice in one day with the same passengers aboard. This is tragic.

"A trespasser was struck and killed and the train was held there until about 1:50 p.m.," Cole said
"A trespasser"...... not a man, not a woman, not a human being.... a "trespasser"
What nice, warm, decent response to the death of someone's loved one. Someone's son or daughter, someone's sister or brother, someone's mother or father.
We see the face of the railroad clearly here, dont we. Too bad we "trespassers" clutter up their little world.

I found that term odd as well. Not a pedestrian, but a trespasser. As if the person was out there up to no good trying to derail the train or something. What happended to "forgive those who trespass against us"?

I don't think the term was used to degrade the person who was struck. I believe it was used for legal reasons in our lawsuit-happy society. A struck pedestrian implies someone struck while crossing or near the tracks (as in a cross walk). By specifying that the first victim was a "trespasser" it is plain to see that that person was somewhere they should not have been. Trains do not stop on a dime and travel at higher speeds while in fenced off areas where pedestrian traffic is prohibited.
It is good to question why these people were killed and keep tabs on the outcome of the investigation. It is not good to jump to the conclusion that the train company does not care about human life. Think of the poor engineer that was driving. I am sure he will relive these incidents in his nightmares for the rest of his life.

There have been cases in the news lately of suicide by trains. So sad.
