I was reading today, that the Loaves and Fishes program is coming to a halt at the Episcopal Church on Bonifacio.

Where do you think the next kitchen will be located?
If they move the ''eatery'', will the Park become safer?
Anyone?

I remember back in the day, when as kids some of us couldn't go to the football games when MDHS played Antioch and/or Pittsburg, cause it was too rough a place. Times have changed?
Back to topic here:

(edit:..url's taking you to a log in site?) sorry...
In my newsletter today, a STABBING IN BALDWIN PARK.
Members of the homeless community?
Or Taxpaying Members of the Community wishing to use their park, in spite of the dangerous conditions?
No one patrols the park at night?
The City Police don't think the Park represents ''a dangerous area''?
Why can't this be fixed, if the Concord PD is so far advanced re: ''a tecnologically advanced PD in the USA"? (I read something about that a few years ago....one of the most effective PDs in the USA).
They have thrown up their hands in dispair?

You can blame the ACLU for the homeless not leaving the park.
They went around last summer and told them they have rights and one of them is to be in the PUBLIC park.
Such a shame there is a day care and the senior center in the park and I have seen in plain view of the day care nudity and sex and drugs and drinking.
Now that the city manager is gone maybe they will clean it up.
Oh and the homless have already told the City and police they won't be leaving the park even if the free food moves away!

No I don't remember MDHS being rough. But, I graduated before 1960.
If I had remained in Concord, my kids would have been able to go to Concord High...as we lived in that area. But, I left before 1971.
I don't remember drugs being an issue. I guess if they were, my crowd didn't mess with them.

The Church and the Senior Center are certainly being compromised by the arrogance and the ''freedoms'' of homeless people.
I'm not heartless but, I am beginning to be tired of the ''homeless'', and the ''illegals'' and my constant rising taxes which pay for their ''right'' to stand in all those welfare lines.
I've always considered myself charitable and generous, and I've become a Greedy American.
I want to preserve our ''rights'', which seem to be disappearing, ...........and fast.

I have lived in Antioch all my life. Antioch is a large city, and many parts of Antioch, as with Concord, have their issues. Antioch is not "crap" and is a nice town. If the CCC Times and news would report on the positives you would find it's not a bad place.
People choose to hone in on the negatives. How about we do soemthing good for a change and focus on the Postive?
