Geren doesn't have a clue

OK went to the A's-Yankee game last night (8/19), bottom of the eighth inning and the A's are behind 3-2. Landon "Crazy Legs" Powell leads off the inning and gets on base with no outs. Does Geren insert a pinch runner? Uh, brain [bleep], he does not. He has this "deer in the headlight" look on his face. Perhpas he is in awe of A-rod's jock strap jiggle or something. He sure in hell is not paying attention to the situation of the game in front of him. Next hitter hits a base hit to right feild and Landon can only chug into second base. A pinch runner could have perhaps made it to third with Swishers weak arm in right. Now Geren finally wakes up and decides to have Nomar pinch run for Powell at second. Next hitter hits a ground ball to A-rod who promptly steps on third and throws to first for a double play. Instead of having runners on first and third with no outs, we end up with 2 outs and a runner on second. Ellis flys out to end the game.

Geren, Your players are playing their hearts out but it obvious you have no clue on how to manage a baseball team. Hell, a little league coach could do a better job. When is Wolf going to get a tell Beane-Head to tell his buddy he doesn't cut it. I swear to God, Geren must must be held accountable for these and many more bone head decisions.

I couldn't agree with you more.  Bob Geren is a black hole in the dugout.  In the three games that he got tossed from this year, the A's won 2 of them, with Ty Waller managing.  Geren needs to get tossed permanently by Lew Wolff at the end of the season.  He can force BB to fire him.  Check out my blog on mlblogs.com, click on Athletics and you'll find it (they won't let me put the link on here).  Leave me a comment with your thoughts anytime.  Bee

A few days ago the A's announced that their coaching staff would remain intact for next year.  No surprise about Geren (BB's BFF), but maybe Skaalen should have been moved.  Now Carney Landsford has been cast adrift from the Giants.  Why can't we get him on our coaching staff?  He at least has some personality.  Anyone else have the same thought?
