Tough love should have started when they were toddlers. Let prison teach them tough love now.

Time for some personal responsibility.  If these punks aren't sent to prison, the next victim may very well be dead.  Folks, let's quit putting up with this crap in our neighborhoods.  Enough is enough.  P.S. Where are the parents of these thugs?

This just breaks my heart to hear of them doing this to this young man.  I have a 13 yr old boy and I know something like this would just devastate him.  My heart goes out to this young man.  I hope these teens learn a lesson in all of this.  Robbing someone is not fun and games it is very serious.  I agree with you smokey, these lessons should have been taught at home.  I just hope this boys recovers from his ordeal.  I can only imagine how traumatic it was for him.

Get ready for it Disco Bay!  This is only the beginning and a taste of what is yet to come.  Antioch and Pittsburg cannot contain this burden forever.  You will see this more frequently and with a more violent flavor to it all.  Next on the list will be carjacking, drive by's and armed robberies.  Your perfect world is changing.  Too bad so sad.

and there is a pattern to this madness.  Just look at rodeo, richmond or the old part of pittsburg thats moved east to Antioch.

I moved to Disco bay a year ago after living in Brentwood all my life. I am moving back to Brentwood this summer. While finishing up nursing school I lived in a lower income neighborhood. I accidently left my home open and my neighbors shut the door for me and kept an eye out. I never had anything stolen. I move to the DB and have had 3 skateboards, 3 bikes(2 I found kids on days later), halloween decorations and found "Kids" attempting to get into my back yard several times. When I tracked down a skateboard after seeing the board with one kid and the trucks with another, the parents gave the parts back and did nothing to dicipline their kids. These are not poor section 8 kids. I lived with those kids/people too and they never took my stuff. Some of the kids over here have a since of entitlement or maybe they are just plain bored. Anyways, it happens all over and they shouldnt stereotype people who have no money. There is creeps in all social groups. I dont agree that you should get a nice house for free ( I worked really hard to get where I am without section 8) but saying the perps are Ghetto is not only wrong but may not be true.

Don't worry Cardam; Ranti doesn't post unless it's some sort of spewing of garbage against people that has no basis in fact. He assumes that all the world's ills are committed by fatherless, lower income types and is the first to post whenever something like this is reported. The fact that these kids may not have been as he described is lost on him as it doesn't fit into his tiny view of the world.

It never ceases to amaze me when people don't look at situations individually (or really look into them at all!) and jump to their convenient, often stereotypical positions. Yes, these kids MAY have been low income youths, but they also may (and frankly more likely) have been local to Discovery Bay and not as he described at all.

So was it too difficult for you to write out two words when you filled out forms?  The name of the town you have moved from is called Discovery Bay.  Perhaps you were able to make this move because you rent.  And while most renters are very nice, I would NOT want to have lived next to you because it sounds like you were living in a small home and have too many kids.  Many neighborhoods in DISCOVERY BAY are primarily retirement neighborhoods-people enjoying the wild life and golden sunsets.  And peace and quiet.  Brentwood is a town far more suited to children and their activities.  When you say that you were in Nursing School, I have to assume you are in training to be a Licensed Vocational Nurse because to become a Registered Nurse you would have to be able to spell- the errors in your post are too numerous to detail.   I pray our paths never cross and I wish you (and your new neighbors in Brentwood) all the best.

Not only a snob..but Chelsea/wenbru is someone who takes 4 months to figure out how to respond to a post. Im sure your not a Registered Nurse because you would have to think a lot more quickly on your feet. By the way most people can figure out that Disco Bay or DB in a long post is short for Discovery Bay. But thanks for the language lesson.

I do not mind at all being considered a snob by low class people who have no idea why someone might just read posts out of boredom.  But because it is none of your business, I will only say the career from which I retired likely came into contact with your family on more than one occasion.  I have absolutely no desire to work in health care, and  I am even  doubtful you ever will either.  But I do hope you are happier that I answered you in a more timely manner.

Maybe you can't read. I said I was sure that you weren't a nurse. You have made quite a bit of incorrect assumptions about me. I don't care what you used to do for a living(past tense) It sounds like you found a new career (stalk your neighbors) You seem like a truly bored and miserable person.

Best of luck as you work and raise kids.  I sincerely  hope that you receive financial help from your kids Dad.  It is a lifelong responsibility.

Take Good Care
