Well recently I wrote an article about an motorcycle officer that said he was going to follow me around all day so that I couldn't hold a sign at the intersections around Walmart so that I could try and eat and survive being homeless. and i recieved some very good feed back some for me some for the PD. There are pros and cons to everything. But I really think the public ought to know the real deal especially since there was a shooting in the Walmart parking lot yesterday. Two weeks ago while the officer on the motorcycle was writing me a ticket for loitering in the roadway, 100 yards or less away the Metro Store in the Walmart lot was being robbed at gun point the officer finished writing my ticket and drove away, it took the police 20 minutes to respond.  Last week  the Subway next door to Metro was robbed, it took the police 15 minutes to respond. Tuesday of this week the cigarette store was robbed. And yesterday a young man was shot, it took 8 minutes for the police to arrive. I see pretty much everything that goes on there. I am not constantly panhandling most of the time you will see me just sitting up there on the lawn at the entrance. And am often told I can not sit there. So again I will say does the Pittsburg police spend your tax dollars wisley? I think not !!!!  I am not committing any serious offense I am trying to survive. Those of you that dont want to see me or others panhandling in the parking lot or in the intersection, should be aware that the money being used to harrass the homeless could be used to prevent REAL crime, or possibly become a part of the solution hot meal, housing something useful.  If you really want to know I would prefer a hand up over a hand out any day. I applied for General Assistance on Febuary 13th my next appointment is the 26th of August it will be well over 6 months before I ever recieve any help I have been waiting since 2004 for my Social Security Disability. Because I was in an auto mobile accident by someone who was under  insured. So before you judge a book by its cover maybe you should get some facts. I pray to God you never have to sleep behind a bush and have bugs crawl on you while you do. And for those of you that help and show some compassion and support, thank you so very much.

Did you have Uninsured/Underinsured coverage on YOUR auto policy at the time of the accident? This would have paid for your loss and perhaps kept you off the streets...Something to consider in the future and for all those folks that DO have auto insurance. The fine State of CA requires minimum limits of liabilty in the amount of $15,000/$30,000. That does not provide much coverage in todays world!! Have a look at your current policies!!.....Yes, I am an Insurance guy Laughing

Good luck to you Julia!!

I can definitely attest to that cadeltadude, I was in an auto accident. I was hit while stopped at a Stop sign by a Taxi driver who apprently did not know his accelerator from his brake pedal. He did not have insurance, as he had allowed it to lapse. Fortunately I had Uninsured motorists so my insurance paid for the damage he caused and they had to deal with going after him for compensation. I keep full coverage on all of my cars whether they are paid off or not. You will wish you had when something unfortunate happens.

outstanding observation i hope misses could elaborate on that i bust my butt to insure fully my harley, dodge dakota and monte carlo SS in the event that some uninsured motorist or illegal alien hits me, iam sympathetic to the womens story however she and the dood in the cowboy hat are awefully close and i have first hand info that dood lives behind wal mart and spends money on crack, i can go either way on this one and even stop and talk to her now that i know she is defending her self against accusations.

There's an empty chair, a nice wood chair, at the corner of Loverage and N. Park where you turn to go into Home Depot.  Who's chair is that?  The last couple days I went by, nobody was sitting in the chair.  It's just sitting there empty.

When I drove by Loveridge tonight, Sat about 7 PM, the IHOP across the street had their sprinklers on and one of the heads was shooting up like a geyser. At least any hot folks on the street could use it to cool off until it's fixed or this heatwave ends. It was hot out there today! Stay cool if you can!
