Roy, It was on the bypass on the section where there's one lane in either direction near sandcreek. Its very sad, however I'm not surprized. People still want to drive like madmen even tho they now have a shortcut btw antioch and bwd. I've driven it a few times and everytime I've had some idiot in a truck who feels he needs to tailgate me. I'm going 5 miles over the speed limit but it still isn't good enough for most the drivers on the bypass. Unless they put up some kind of divider in the middle(like they did on 12 and many other dangerous roads, it will just be another accident corrider due to the speeds of the cars and that there is no where to go to avoid a head on collision.

On my way back from DC, heard the bypass closed till 8pm, the Oakley portion open, then saw all the emergency vehicles on Lone tree, etc... Even the stretch from Home Depot Intersection closed all the way to Balfour. There are so many drivers that should not be on our roads....unlicensed, uninsured, and just distracted with cellphones and Venti Lattes..... A horrible accident, and as usual, an innocent person and their family effected. Concrete barriers are needed for the stretch of the bypass entrance where traffic is TWO WAY. "Oh what a tangled web they weave, when they set out to deceive.

Sad Story, the bypass needs a divider or other safety feature. This will not be the last fatal accident for a loved one. I have always felt; whoever was in charge of the highway 4 bypass design really did a disservice to the community in regards to safety. The 4 bypass has been a dangerous road form day one. A divider needs to be installed or we will be looking at many more fatalities. Vasco Rd. is only a few miles away; we should not accept living with another dangerous road in the area. I have never felt safe driving down the 4 bypass between Lone Tree and Balfour.

Before this accident, most of the people I've talked to that live out there said they really like the convenience of the bypass. There's a lot of those two lane roads around and when you think of how many times you notice people drifting over their lines before they realize and correct it when you are on a 4 lane freeway and everyone is going the same direction, it's kind of scary to know that could happen on a 2 laner going opposite directions. I read the entrys people made in the tribute book the Times posted the link for and it's incredibly sad. It makes you want to hugs your kids a little tighter, and like one poster said, hug the right line of the road the next time you drive on it just to have a little extra cushion on those dangerous roads.
