Just saw this article. I used to love inthe North Bay. The real problem with the I-80 bottleneck in Vallejo, between Redwood Road and the Carquinez Strait, is that the current 6-lane I-80 has no right of way left for expansion. Another reason things slow down is the remaining 25-30 mph curves on the entry and exit ramps. Merging from Westbound I-780 to Northbound I-80 is always a thrill ride.
