Ha Ha I was so piiiiissssssssed when I read that. We have got to much unknown potential talent at WR and we would end up signing this waste of space. I'm glad your kidding man.

Maybe he can be the "Mr. Bently" for Al Davis! LMAO hold his umbrella, walker etc... lol that guy stole so many checks. He put himself before the team. He wasn't a role player. He was at his best as a no. 3 with Brown and Rice!

THE FUTURE

well if he was stealing checks, then walker is "really" stealing checks...at least porter was effective...walker has literally done nothing for us.

you guys can say what ya'll want, but if dhb had the stats porter had, you guys would be licking his nuts...lol...peace

I'd put Walker in the same category as Porter no problem.

Neither one gives us much benefit and they take up roster space while being highly overpaid.

If DHB had the stats Porter did we'd have reason to be crazy about him....he's a rookie.  It's not saying much for a player who's been around as long as Porter when you're trying to compare his stats to those of a rookie.

well first and foremost porter came here with brown and rice, bey has......uhh....chazz, higgins and walker...lol.

but if bey "kept" right around let's say 700 to 998 yards you guys would love him.

porter's career is done....but he plays what?...9 seasons?....that's good enough for me....nothing to complain about...porter is the last thing people should be worried about...seriously, our wr corps was the worst in da nfl last season....

sorry to tell ya but porter wasn't a part of that no matter how you spin it....and i "know" you will try to spin it....i'd do anything for any one of our wr's to catch 68 balls for 998 yards....peace

THE FUTURE

yeah what i said makes a lot of sense....some fail to realize the obvious, then these guys love to rip porter, but even when porter left, we still sucked last season...our best wr caught 22 balls...

it's like picking on a guy because he made a 51 on his test...

when you made a 52..

makes no sense...but that's what fans of a losing team does...they pick on other losers, because they can't pick on winners...that can take that one to the bank.

He played 4 full 16 game seasons for us (can't count rookie year nor Shell year):

'02:  51 Rec for 9TDs

'04:  61 Rec for 9TDs

'05:  76 Rec for 5TDs (don't get excited, that's a '5' not an 'S')

'07:  44 Rec for 6TDs

Tim Brown had only 2 double digit TD seasons (10TDs & 11TDs)  in 17 seasons.  Champ Bailey may have a disagreement with you too.

Actually, in the ultimate act of irony, but mostly just out of pure meanness and spite, Davis hires Porter as the new Ball Manager but, then announces Art Shell as the new Equipment Manager.

I am so glad that this was a joke post.

I agree with Sac and the rest of you gentleman.  Jerry Porter's only season of success was when he had 2 hall of fame players on the field with him and the league MVP throwing him the ball.  Otherwise he cashed checks and did nothing with them but buy that stupid million dollar belt.  What he should have done is bought some extra time with a trainer.  Maybe that way he wouldn't have fizzled out and been out of the league.

It was the organizations fault for letting Norv dump Brown and Rice who had 2-3 legit years left. It was Norvs system that wanted younger guys he could brain wash the younger guys. If anything, he's the idiot that tried to make porter a #1 and curry turned it up.....We havent had a solid true #1 since brown and rice...lack of consistency.

Brown & Rice were done when we let 'em go.  Both were like 17 of 18 seasons a piece.  Porter just wasn't a #1 guy and Curry's Achilles heel was literally his achilles heels (both).  But, you're right we haven't had a true #1 since, not even Mr. Moody Alligator Arms Moss.

Well it normally takes 5-7 years for a super bowl contender to rebuild. This is our 6th year. we our younger, more determined and we know how to lose. So when we get overwhelmed on loosing we then must win, It`s fate and destiny brother. Bottem line I`m saying is that in the long run Norv was and is correct also.

Rice and Brown were both finished by the time we cut em loose. Seriously Driving Miss Daisy slow.  YAC was something they did as they got creamed by youngsters 15 years their junior on every reception.

First DHB wouldn't hold your uni-ball, then the 'Nut lickin' and now the flat out 'blowin' the entire 'head'quarters?  Geezus man, this is a Raiders forum.
