Sure had to be a socialist democrat wanting to take away the rights of parents to discipline their kids. She must have been disciplined pretty good as a child to be hating it late in life. There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Like the good book says, "spare the rod, spoil the child. No parent takes joy out of giving their kids a spanking, but when a person does it for any little stupid reason, and very harshly to the point of enjoyment then I would call that abuse. I discipline my kids, I hate spanking them because it hurts me to do so, but I do it to set them straight that way they think twice before doing something they know is not acceptable. I will continue to discipline my kids, and it will be a cold day in hell if the government tries to intervene and take my parental rights away. Miss Lieber needs to wake up and smell the coffee before **** hits the fan.

we could sponsor a PROGRAM. A liberal solution for liberals. It would teach liberal parents the difference between spanking/ discipline of children...and abuse of children. They apparently look the same to a liberal. But with millions of dollars of working peoples money and another bureaucracy...we could educate them to understand that....undisciplined children become NUTS and a burden on society....just like their spoiled, silly parents.

Most compelling of all reasons to discontinue this inherited bad habit are the following (which can be verified by people who were actually spanked themselves by doing a little research):

Unpleasant as this information is, we do our children a great disservice when we fail to acknowledge its truth.
Had we not turned a blind eye to the unpleasant phenomena of child sexual abuse 40-50 years ago, many children would have been spared its consequences.

Good post, I am glad someone brought this up. I didn't like getting spanked as a kid, but if it is what works then it should be used. I spank my kids. My dad used a "board of education" he cut a pattle out of a thick board of hickory. And if we were bad he pulled it out and made us band over and grab our ankles.
