I was driving home from Richmond today down San Pablo blvrd. and right at the highway 4 onramp in hurcules I see a all black Animal walking in the feild to the left of the road about 250 feet away, We were at a stop light and I was a passanger, so I got a good look. It Was bigger than a large dog, It walked like a cat, low profile. The top of the head was inline with the spine, like it was about to pounce on its pray. then it just sat on a little mound of dead grass and dirt.So I thought of a cat, like a moutain lion or something. Ive never seen anything like this out of the zoo, I should of made a u-turn and checked it out. oh well, crazy day.

Judging from the subtle clues in your posts, could it be Lola?
"Well I'm not dumb, but they call me NutJob,
'cause it walked like a cat, but was bigger than a dog,
Oh my Lola, L-O-L-A, Lola...
Oh I'm not the world's most observant guy,
but when it crouched, it's head lined up with it's spine
Oh my Lola, L-O-L-A, Lola, L-O-L-A, Lola....

Nutjob, I am very familiar with that location. Used to pass there 4 times a day. On occasion we would see deer in that little thicket. There is a small creek there and they follow it into San Pablo. Maybe a female grazing.

Hey Nutjob! Could this be what you seen?
Motorist: 500-pound moose 'fell out of the sky'
Bailey said the driver, who was under the bridge when he spotted the falling moose, was "pretty excited about it."
Police Chief Charles Runnels said the yearling bull probably panicked because of the noise and traffic along I-95 and began running. He said it just picked the wrong spot to jump the guardrail, falling onto a road instead of landing in a field.
A passerby with a wrecker hauled away the carcass.
