As martinez resident let their lawns die the Martinez City Council gives their money to the Martinez School District. Martinez residents gave money to the district 1 year ago when they agreed to raise their property taxes. However, as residents are forced to tighten their own belts and cut back the amount of water used the school district is doing no such thing. All the lawns are green. Looks great but at what cost? Softball isn't until spring but the lawns are watered to the point of being drenched with water. Who is playing softball now? No one. Well, we wouldn't want any of the school district employees to look at a dry field as they go into their new multimillion dollar district office. How much money could the district save if they cut back on the amount of water it uses?
