Straight' bouncer harassed at gay club

A bouncer won £3,000 for injured feelings after she was harassed for being "straight" while working at a gay club.

Sharon Legg from Bournemouth was called "breeder" and "straight"- derogatory terms used in the gay community.

The 33-year-old mum-of-four was working at Dream in The Triangle and
her employer was Rubyz Limited... "I just think there's a few individuals who have a preference for  their own kind. The tribunal could find no reason why I should have  lost my job."

Mrs Legg's barrister, Sarah Courtney from Gales Solicitors of  Wimborne Road, Winton, said: "It was an unusual case.  "The legislation was brought in to prevent gay and lesbian people  from being harassed."

And she added: "I haven't come across a case like this before."

For example - although the article mentions Author Warren Farrell, his books (like those of other important authors such as Tammy Bruce - 'The Death of Right and Wrong', Daphne Patai 'Heterophobia' & Professing Feminism', Nathanson & Young 'Legalizing Misandry'...) are almost never reviewed - and the facts published in their books are rarely if ever mentioned in stories invariably geared towards Media Male Bashing.

Thus I offer my own services to the CC times / Media News to address these glaring gaps in Diversity, based on Viewpoint Discrimination against Men's Civil Rights Advocacy - and promise a truly unique expose for print on the same pages as this exchange, only highlighting the types of errors and omissions common to current stories alleging to deal with 'gender issues' - when Men's Voices are Excluded.

Like him or not, Carey Roberts doesn’t mince words, opinions, or facts. He’s one of those pesky and abrasive truth tellers that makes one breathe between the teeth or, in other words, makes one think even when cultural pressures demand that you don’t.

Political feminism is a beast. It is a dictatorial movement that demands gender behavior, gender roles, and gender servitude. It is not a movement based upon concern for women, but is wholly dedicated to 1) depopulation indoctrination and demand, and 2) the control of masculinity.

Let us begin by saying that 1) women are beaten and murdered by men in every cultural and in every country in the world. This we know. We also know that women kill women, men, and children in every cultural and country in the world, and that men perpetrate these same crimes upon other males in every culture and country in the world. People are not passive creatures.

We also know that women in other cultures and countries are not treated in the same fashion as they are treated in the United States, but that has far more to do with the fact that American males did, in fact, value their female counterparts, coupled with their cultural norms, Christian traditions, and constitutional laws, in a far more sincere and reasonable manner. In the great scope of world history, American men have fared beautifully in the treatment and respect of women due to the aforementioned reasons. In a global context, American women have had better treatment, rights, and cultural equality than most of the world’s women. Somehow, this fact is persistently ignored by America’s radical feminist fringe.

The fact that American women do have cultural respect, opportunities, and gender equality, is a uniquely and contemporary American tradition, and due largely to the genuine acceptance by American men of their female counterparts. Both genders have a very unique and a very good thing going in the United States – at least we use to. But I am very certain that the emasculation of males in this nation, by the very powerful and very globally funded and backed feminist lobby, has very ulterior motives.

It simply cannot be argued that depopulation is a key aspect of the global government’s mission. In fact, massive global depopulation is mandated by many, many decrees, commissions, think tanks, and movements. Genocide continues, unabated and globally, and century after century. “Disease” has become high science, massively funded, and continues, generation after generation, to be used as a lethal weapon. Many pharmaceutical drugs are dangerous to pregnant females. And new drugs have been engineered to all but eliminate menstrual cycles and to render men infertile. Genetically modified food has also been used to render men infertile. Religious suggestions to be fruitful have also been slated for political extinction, for as we know, too many commoners are problematic for the greed and sustainability of the elite.

Political depopulation strategies have been used to lower populations in resource-rich Third World Countries as defense and take-over policies, and we cannot forget Goals 2000, the 1974 report during the Carter administration, which promised that the U.S. would lower its population by multi-millions by 2050. So please, people, let us not continue to believe that “history” is accidental or by coincidence. History is orchestrated, planned, and funded at the expense of all tax payers who, pathetically and historically, pay for their manipulated demise time and time and time again.]

The closing of American military bases, coupled with the homeland exiting of all American military men and women, is by no accident. Our military personnel are United Nations forces. First and foremost, get that through your heads. Secondly, consider that laws and pending legislation have now rendered non-military men, who remain on the homeland, virtually powerless. Their jobs left the homeland, the right to private arms is constantly being challenged and degraded, and any outward signs of aggression are fast becoming criminalized on all levels. Traditional and biological masculinity is rapidly becoming a crime – and not just in the United States of America. Remember that global governance is global law.

But why attempt to change the nature of human males? Let’s think about this. We know that men are more aggressive than females. We know that men are physically more powerful than females. We know that men have traditionally acted in defense of women and children, burg and community, state and nation – and particularly so via the mandates of the Constitution, the Second Amendment, and Article I, Section 8, Clauses 15 and 16, which were written SPECIFICALLY to address homeland security due to violations of law, insurrections, and/or invasions, and specific instructions for MEN on how to defend and protect all of the states in the nation.

Now, if men are culturally emasculated, redefined, and rendered incapable of bearing arms, what happens to the legal defense of this nation – especially given the fact that the American military is no longer the American military or present on the homeland?
If it is illegal for men to act defensively, to bear arms, to get mad, or to have opinions other than those crafted by social engineers, men are then rendered incapable of defensive (and Constitutional) duties and tendencies. See how cleverly this works?

Now, back to the feminist movement – as Carey Roberts has so courageously taught time and time again, the radical feminist movement is a political movement to emasculate men and to brainwash women. Mr. Roberts, you have always been right on the money. Political intent is never by accident – never.

And the feminist movement, globally funded and created by the pathologically arrogant greed of dynastic social engineers, is but one effort to render impotent the sovereign United States and its Constitutional traditions. And sadly, terrifyingly, the men in this country have been severely damaged – financially, emotionally, intellectually, and defensively.

And American women? What can one say? Incapable of bearing children, maybe? However, they do have silicon boobs, fake fingernails, fake tans, bleached teeth, anti-depressants, credit cards, monumental debt, abortion rights, and starvation diets. They have daycare centers, Socialist indoctrination schools for their older children, and pre-military physical regimens called competitive/select sports for their children’s after-school care. What more could they want? Better ask the feminist movement. They will tell you exactly what women want.

 The ACLU has submitted a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of Sen. Larry Craig, whose protracted legal strategy is creating an opportunity for the ACLU to create entirely new kinds of mischief.  The ACLU's brief assumes that the senator was in fact soliciting for gay sex last summer in a Minneapolis airport restroom, which of course the senator is now vigorously denying.

Problematically, the ACLU argues that the senator was in fact entitled to engage in gay sex with a willing partner in a public restroom stall, since people who use such restrooms have, according to 1970 Minnesota Supreme Court ruling, "a reasonable expectation of privacy."

It's difficult to know what part of the word "public" in the phrase "public restroom" the ACLU and Minnesota judges do not understand. The ACLU says that the intimacy the senator expected to engage in "would not have called attention to itself in a closed stall in the public restroom," an assertion which is ludicrous on its face. Sexual activity in public restrooms has been banned precisely because it is in fact disturbing to other members of the public and to their children.

The city of Boise had to enact a special ordinance because homosexual encounters in public park bathrooms were becoming such a nuisance to families using the park system. Since, the ACLU argues, private homosexual sex is a lawful act, even in a bathroom stall, soliciting for it cannot itself be unlawful.

So we are one activist judge away from having homosexual sex in a public restroom declared a constitutional right. And if it happens, the nation will have the ACLU and a senator from Idaho to thank.

Philadelphia - As Michael Nutter was sworn in as the city's 98th mayor last month, he called for a new wave of public service to clean up drug-infested neighborhoods. If he is serious about renewing volunteerism, he'll start by putting an end to the city's campaign against the Boy Scouts.

On May 31, the Cradle of Liberty Council, the local Boy Scout chapter, will be evicted from its headquarters on 22nd and Winter Streets -- a space it has occupied since 1928. The eviction isn't for a breach of contract. It comes at the behest of the City Council, which voted 16 to one last year to kick the boy scouts out unless they reverse the national Boy Scouts of America's ban on gays serving in the ranks or as scoutmasters or start paying "market rent" -- about $200,000 a year. Local chapters can't reverse national scouting policies. So it's a matter of paying up or moving out.

Throughout the city, there are about 56,000 Boy Scouts who spend countless hours cleaning parks, running food drives, and organizing meals for the needy. And, of course, helping young boys, many without strong male figures in their lives, develop skills that will serve them well in life. "You think we'd be embraced by city officials," Scoutmaster J.R. Brockman told me recently. He's a human-relations consultant and father of twin 14-year-olds who volunteers to lead a troop of about 20 scouts and a dozen Cub Scouts out of the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas in west Philadelphia. On Fridays he can be found with his scouts at the church as the boys eat pizza and play Xbox. "It's an activity that keeps them off the streets and lets them spend time with their friends," he says.

But it's not all fun and games. Mostly Mr. Brockman focuses on steering kids clear of drugs and violence, which leads many of the city's youth to a stint in jail. "[T]he kids who have stayed in the program," he told me, "have stayed out of trouble." On weekends, his scouts go for hikes or campouts at local parks. In town, they renovate sections of the city's Fairmount Park, run food drives, and feed the homeless.

Irving Anglin, 16, is leading a renovation project in Fairmount Park. His aim is to become an Eagle Scout, an honor only a handful of scouts ever achieve. He joined the scouts as a first grader and admits he did so reluctantly. Today, however, he can't imagine life without scouting: "You get to know your limits and your strengths. You get to do different things, like swimming and sports that you otherwise wouldn't get a chance to do."

Mr. Brockman says that all of his scouting activities are made possible because he receives administrative support and help with recruitment from the of the Cradle of Liberty headquarters. Take away the scout building and Mr. Brockman loses the professional staff he relies on. As it is, he can't field all the calls he receives from single mothers looking to place their sons in his troop. "I'm a volunteer with limited resources," Mr. Brockman told me. "I just can't do it all. And without the headquarters here, that will make my job even more difficult."

For the past 80 years, the scouts have leased their corner lot off of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for a nominal fee. And they have made the site their own by building a three-story 8,928-square-foot Italian Renaissance-style headquarters with private funds. Scouting badges, ranks and emblems are etched in the limestone along the roofline. The scouting motto -- "On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country . . . " -- is carved above the main entrance. In 1937 the scouts added the life-size iconic statue of "The Boy Scout" that greets visitors. And each year they spend about $60,000 on maintenance. In 1994, they spent $2.6 million on renovations. Charles D. Hart, who was then president of the Cradle of Liberty Council, wrote of the building in March 1930: "It will show the public that we are here and here to stay and that we are recognized as being an important factor in the city's and nation's life."

But the city's attitude toward the scouts changed in 2000, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled, 5-4, that the Boy Scouts, as a private organization, could exclude homosexual scouts and troop leaders. Following the ruling, local governments and organizations across the country took aim at the scouts.

The Philadelphia chapter lost annual six-figure donations from the United Way and the Pew Charitable Trusts, according to Mark Chilutti, vice chairman of the Cradle of Liberty Council. Today there are fewer than two dozen staff members serving the chapter, down from nearly four dozen. With dwindling resources the chapter is watching its membership dwindle as well. Membership in the council, which covers the city and parts of two neighboring counties, peaked at 95,000 in 2001. Today it stands at 65,000, with most of those in the city itself.

In 2003, the Cradle of Liberty tried to appease the city by adopting its own nondiscrimination policy, but was overruled by the national organization. That same year, Cradle of Liberty also revoked the membership of an 18-year-old scout who publicly announced that he was gay, leading to last year's City Council vote. Mr. Brockman believes that if the focus is on the kids and what scouting offers in terms of leadership development and other skills, a solution can be found.

Here's one suggestion: Sell the scouts their building. Ask for fair market value minus a generous allowance for improvements the scouts have made to the property and the resources they have devoted to its upkeep and to the city. The scouts could raise money for the purchase without touching resources needed for programs for the boys. If the goal is a safer city with an engaged citizenry, Mr. Nutter could find a way to keep the Boy Scouts in Philadelphia.

The controversy over legislation on embryology grew last night following proposals to allow babies to be conceived using "artificial" sperm and eggs.

The bill would allow the creation of hybrid animal-human embryos for research

The Government already faces a rebellion by Roman Catholic Cabinet ministers and Labour backbenchers, dozens of whom may vote against the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.

The legislation would allow the creation of hybrid animal-human embryos for scientific research.

Yesterday it emerged that ministers are considering supporting an amendment which would allow so-called artificial gametes - sperm and eggs - to be used to create a human pregnancy through IVF.

The technique involves taking embryonic cells from a would-be parent and growing them into sperm in a laboratory.

That would allow groups such as cancer sufferers who have been made infertile by treatment, and women who cannot produce their own eggs, to have children who are genetically related to them.

Evan Harris, the Liberal Democrat science spokesman who will table the amendment, said: "There is no good explanation for not allowing this option for people who have survived cancer and cannot have children."

advertisementDawn Primarolo, the public health minister, said the technique could help alleviate the shortage of sperm donors, but she accepted there were "profound ethical questions".

The science is in its early stages and has so far only been used to create pregnancies in mice. It would probably be a decade before a human pregnancy could be achieved.

The campaign group Comment on Reproductive Ethics said the technique could lead to the "ultimate incest" of a single person being both mother and father of the same child.

The latest development will further anger Roman Catholic Labour MPs who have already rejected a Government offer to allow them to abstain from a vote on the Bill, which is a key part of the legislative programme announced in the Queen's Speech.

It has been championed by Gordon Brown who believes it is vital in the fight to cure conditions such as motor neurone disease and cystic fibrosis.

The Bill will allow for the creation of animal-human embryos - by injecting animal cells or DNA into human embryos or human cells into animal eggs - to be used in medical research and then discarded.

It will also reform the fertility laws, meaning that clinics will not have to consider the "need for a father" before providing IVF treatment. This means lesbian couples could be registered as legal parents.

Labour MPs will be under a three-line whip to back the legislation. The Conservatives have given their MPs a free vote on what they deem an issue of conscience.

Cabinet ministers are normally bound by collective responsibility to vote for any Government Bill but Des Browne, the Defence Secretary, Ruth Kelly, the Transport Secretary, and Paul Murphy, the Welsh Secretary have all threatened to refuse on religious grounds.

Mr Brown is expected to tell them they can abstain but if they vote against they will not remain members of the Government.

The Bill, to be voted on within the next two months, has already been delayed in order to reach a compromise.

What the Bill would permit

Chimera embryos: Scientists would be free to insert human DNA into animal cells, creating hybrid or "chimera" embryos for medical research. Pro-life campaigners claim the process involves destruction of human life and could lead to the birth of a chimera baby.

No father needed: Clinics offering IVF treatment would no longer be required to consider the need for a father in raising a child. Same- sex couples would be recognised as legal parents, allowing lesbian couples to have children.

Embryo screening: Embryos would be screened for genetic abnormalities and matches for siblings with life-threatening illnesses. Selecting an embryo based on gender would be banned.

Information for children: Children conceived from donated sperm or eggs will be allowed, at the age of 16, to ask for information on any half-siblings. They will also be able to check whether they are related to a partner and request details about their donor parent.

Female roles debated By MIKALA KUCHERA, Alligator Contributing Writer The president of the Network for enlightened Women discussed the distinction between two prominent feminist groups at a speech Wednesday night. Karin Agness, a University of Virginia law student who in 2004 founded the group, known as NeW, was invited to speak at Turlington Hall by the NeW UF chapter to increase its awareness on campus, said Holly Hall, chapter president.

Agness spoke about the negative aspects of liberal women's movements, including victim mentality, androgyny and the alliance between the sexual revolution and feminism. She advocated a more conservative approach to feminism as opposed to the classically liberal mindset, which aims for complete equality with men. It's OK to be different, she said, as long as men and women have the same rights.

"Feminism has gone too far," she said. "And it's time to offer a balance to the women's rights movement and debate."

She said NeW's goal is to provide a resource for conservative women on campus and emphasize that not every woman has to join the workforce.

The nearly 40-member audience, consisting mostly of women, included members of both conservative and liberal feminist groups...

(CRI) An Oregon man named Thomas who used to be a woman says "he" is pregnant with a baby girl. Thomas was born a woman but decided to become a transgender male. He had his breasts removed and started bimonthly testosterone injections. Now identifying as male, Thomas legally married Nancy. The couple wanted a child but Nancy was unable to carry a child. So Thomas volunteered.

Not only is this irrational, but displays an ignorance of cyber hacking that is as fact challenged as their Radical Homosex 'Pander or Perish' propaganda.

In other words, these Mau Mau Artistes Hate to see the Truth being told about them so much that they will go to extraordinary lengths of Hissy Fitt Hysteria in order to Censor it, including the bizarre pretense that my posting interferes with the rights of others. The fact is that No One is being shut out of this forum, and they are after me because I dare try and focus on a certain number of Vitally Important Topics relating to the attack on this nation by those pushing the Sick Hatreds and Vile Perversions that motivate these Relentlessly Radical Resident Harpies in their Rabid, Frothing Hind Foot Thumping Denunciations... Back when I started out at AWOL (Amerikan Womyn On Line) there were message boards / interest centers for Women and Men, but when the Men's section began to include Men's Civil Rights Advocates who dared criticize Radical Gender Feminist Misandry (Hatred of Men, Masculinity & Normal Heterosexuality) AWOL Shut the Men's Boards Down - Except for one (Men's Equal Rights) which existed as a Ghost in the Machine for years (Officially denied to exist by AWOL, but there nonetheless), and this did attract the types of Harpy Attacks that the Homosex Hissy Fit Lobby wants to attribute to me.

The Harpies of AWOL posted sometimes hundreds of posts on the 'Non-Existent' Men's Equal Rights board on a daily basis, the better to fill it up between on topic entries from the other users, However, their posts were always short snippets of gibberish that did not relate to the topic but mostly abused the other posters - whereas even now when I quote other sources for inclusion on to threads, it still advances the topic of the thread and the information archived for support of the ongoing discussion... Such as it may be.

Another point worth addressing is that of the "General Lurking Public." As any unbiased observer of these type message boards can attest, the Majority of Readers Do Not Post. Just a review of some of the Voting Numbers on Topics shows that there are many more who read and vote (anonymously) than those who post. Part of this is naturally wariness of being caught up in flame wars with the Resident Harpies who patrol the boards like self appointed Thought Police (you know who you are...), and who regularly attack Ohso (in first, second and third person) while studiously avoiding any discussion of the thread topic and post contents, under the pretense that trashing the author is some sort of 'Dialog' about the subject.

Like others before they raise the same ole cheesy whine to a drearily repetitive level of sophistry, all in the service of a transparently lame attempt at thought policing... The fact is that I am always willing to engage in a "Discussion" - provided it is about a topic germane to the thread, even at the alleged risk of 'filling up the internet'... Ahem.

Even more entertaining, in a warped and weird sort of way, is reading some of the inane self contradictory gibberish spouted by Harpy Hissy Fit artistes, such as the claim by one Muffy Munchie that "everyone has an opinion on the subject already, and you are CERTAINLY not going to change it. Why don’t you stop... and join the rest of the forum community in incisive, thoughtful dialog..."

Gosh, if "Everyone" has an "Unchangeable Opinion" (Certainly No Exaggeration Here!) then the room for 'dialog' would seem rather small, particularly given the 'Phobia' towards Diversity of Thought and Viewpoint the Harpies already display. However, when you remove the window dressing it is not a discussion of the issues our Resident Harpies and their sorry ilk are looking for, but rather to simply hijack the boards and turn them in to an endless Pro-Misandry / Homosex & anti-Ohso Mau Mau session, the better to divert attention from the actual subject matter that they dont want Anyone Discussing - because it might lead people to Change an Opinion, which just isn't possible - unless of course it is to change (under duress if need be) and agree with the Harpy Way.

A theatrical production lauded by Oprah Winfrey and a long list of other celebrities is being targeted in a new campaign called "Stop the Monologues" because it depicts the questioning of a six-year-old child about her sexuality and outlines a drunken sexual assault on a 13-year-old (or 16-year-old depending on the edition).

Donna Miller of Americans for Truth said the radical feminist play, "The [bleep] Monologues" was "celebrated" by a long list of Hollywood personalities in New Orleans over the weekend, and a roster of invited guests included names such as Ashley Judd, Jennifer Hudson. Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Glenn Close and Faith Hill.

Oprah, who has advocated for Democratic presidential candidate Baracak Obama and promoted a New Age religion in recent weeks too, was scheduled to appear but reports said she did not show up at the event to perform a monologue written for her by author Eve Ensler.

It is the explicit content of the production that has raised new alarms, especially since the production's website now is inviting participation from those who want to present the production in high schools.

"I find it horrifying that an author would sexualize a six-year-old girl – particularly when that same author has a record of writing favorable about adult/child sex, at least for lesbians," Miller said.

The production's whole theme "celebrates a lesbian rape-seduction, underage drinking, and a lesbian adult asking highly inappropriate sexual questions to [a] six-year-old," she said.

Ensler, identified in some reports as a bisexual, made her project famous for its sexual references and explicit language. Americans for Truth said the project includes:

On pages 103-104 of the 10th anniversary edition, Ensler asks a six- year-old about her sexual identity, including such questions as, "If your [bleep] got dressed, what would it wear."

On pages 80-82 of the Monologues, a lesbian rape-seduction scene is featured in a story called, "The Little Coochi Snorcher That Could." In it, a 24-year-old woman seduces a 16-year-old. In some earlier versions, Americans for Truth said, the girl was described as 13.

On its website, it invites "members of any community or high school around the world" to work on the production. "The purpose of these events is to raise awareness about violence against women and girls as well as raise money for local beneficiaries," the website continues.

Miller said it is hypocritical for the movement to oppose violence against women and girls, but still celebrate the portrayals.

Peter LaBarbera, also from Americans for Truth, said he is astonished that Ensler and the vulgar play are being honored.

"Imagine if an adult homosexual man were to quiz a six-year-old boy about his penis – or a straight man were to ask a little girl silly questions about her private parts – for use in play! Would such men be praised by the media and famous personalities?" he said.

Miller said she was appalled by the outrageous effort to glorify such "perversion."

She has multiple editions of the writings, has seen productions of them and has documented the changes that either have been made, or not.

She's also watched the growth in the interest in the production, capped by last weekend's celebration in New Orleans, and wants to change that.

"What we want to do is get people activated and fighting at the university level," she said.

"These [scenes] go way over the edge," she told WND.

Essentially what we have here is a woman who testifies to abuse in her background ... basically promoting the sexualization of children by adults," she said.

"Beyond all this child stuff, it's amazing that they're talking about this play in high schools," said LaBarbera.

"That's what is constantly amazing about this agenda," he continued. "They just keep pushing the envelope wider and wider, almost like they get turned on by our shock and horror."

Finally, there's the irony that the project says it raises money to combat violence against women, he said, while portraying an assault on a child, and the questioning of another child in terms more or less rated X.

"We want to know the details [of the project's depiction of the six- year-old]," Miller said. "Who was the six-year-old girl? Was it someone she knew? A relative? Friend? Did the girl's parents know the story here?" She said there are laws protecting children from sexual abuse.

"We will be fighting this on a year-round basis," Miller told WND.

Islanders want legal right to be 'true lesbians' Telegraph Online UK

Residents of the Greek island of Lesbos launched a legal action yesterday against a homosexual group, insisting that only islanders had the right to call themselves lesbians.

The inhabitants of the island said they were attempting to ban the Greek Gay and Lesbian Union (Olke) from bearing the name "lesbian".

Residents of Lesbos now suffer "psychological and moral rape" from the "seizure" of their island's name by gays, according to the complaint by Dimitris Lambrou, a local activist. He has set out his argument in "The Misfortune of Being Lesbian", published on his website.

While gay families and their supporters await the California Supreme Court's ruling on the constitutionality of a voter-approved law banning same-sex marriage, a few researchers and pundits are proposing that same-sex procreation with bio-engineered gametes will undermine one of the key arguments of same-sex marriage opponents.

These technological enthusiasts are portraying a recent biological experiment with artificial gametes as a breakthrough that will one day enable gay and lesbian couples to have children who are genetically related to both of them. Some media reports have described the step toward "female sperm" as a portent of gay freedom. "Good news for lesbians," the lead of one story gushed.

Well, maybe not. The news accounts and enthusiasts haven't raised the question of whether equality can be engineered in a test tube or discrimination solved with a technical fix. Nor have they pointed out that procreation with artificial gametes would be a biologically extreme measure that would pose enormous risks to any resulting children. While speculation about using such constructs in humans typically includes the standard disclaimer - "assuming this is shown to be safe" - the far more likely "not safe" option has remained unexamined...

In a previous study published in 2006, the Newcastle team worked with mice, and was able to produce offspring using female mouse sperm. But the results of that experiment are hardly comforting: The researchers got seven live births from 210 attempts. Though mice usually live for years, one of those seven mouse pups died soon after birth, and the other six exhibited "abnormal growth rates" and died within five months. Female sperm and male eggs would not be just another form of in vitro fertilization. IVF uses evolved biological mechanisms to initiate reproduction in a different physical location: a Petri dish instead of a womb.

Using artificial gametes for reproduction would be more like using cloning for reproduction, which routinely produces disastrous outcomes similar to the Newcastle scientists' mice. That's why there is now a wide consensus among nearly every knowledgeable researcher that trying to create human clones would be dangerous and highly unethical.

Like reproductive cloning, efforts to use female sperm or other artificial gametes would mean starting with biological materials that have not been produced by evolutionary dynamics to participate in reproduction. In human beings, this would be an extraordinarily high-risk gamble. As researchers and others have concluded in speculation about human reproductive cloning, the very investigations that would be required to try to improve the safety of female-sperm reproduction in human beings would amount to unethical human experimentation.

But some promoters of the female-sperm scenario aren't waiting even for lab results. A Bay Area patent analyst, Gregory Aharonian, is uninvolved with any scientific work, yet has filed a patent application on a variety of techniques to create artificial gametes. Acknowledging that this is, in part, a publicity move, Aharonian argues that mobilizing support for same-sex procreation using female sperm and male eggs would undermine the keystone argument against same-sex marriage...

The laboratory creation of eggs and sperm from other cells could offer hope to thousands of people unable to have children of their own... the procedure could be used to create human foetuses within 15 years.

Creating sperm from female instead of male cells could take longer but was still "possible", they said...

Josephine Quintavalle, from Comment on Reproductive Ethics, a campaign group, said the technique went against the natural reproductive process and could result in passing genetic fertility problems on to offspring.

The idea of babies being created without a biological father was "scary", she added.

As we mentioned in our last email, author Ryan Sorba was invited by the Smith College Republicans to speak on his upcoming book The Born Gay Hoax this past Tuesday, April 29. The lecture hall was filled with people who wanted to hear him. But one group of people decided he shouldn't be allowed to be heard.

About ten minutes into Sorba's speech, dozens of lesbian activists at Smith College climbed in through windows, began yelling, and stormed the podium. They took over the entire room, screaming and jumping around in front of the speaker. The melee made it impossible for the speech to continue. Uniformed police officers were in the room but mostly just stood and watched. Rather than take action against the rioters, the officers and a university official walked to the podium and ordered Sorba to leave the room “for his own safety.”

The rioters took over the microphone and continued to occupy the room -- yelling and screaming chants -- until they were sure that Sorba would not be able to return at all. With an eight-month bump and a beard, he claims to be the world's first pregnant man. This week, the Mail paid Thomas Beatie a visit and discovered a tale of greed, gay rights zealotry and breathtaking cynicism...

When the astonishing story of the 'world's first pregnant man' went around the globe two months ago, there was speculation that the pregnancy was a hoax... So to answer the question: how can a man be pregnant? Well, Beatie actually used to be a woman, then decided he wanted to be a man, and then decided he wanted to have a baby.

When he had surgery to become a man, he had his breasts removed and was given testosterone to make him look and sound like a man, but he chose to keep his female reproductive organs. So Beatie is really a man/woman hybrid. Call him a freak, if you like...

In fact, this sinister experiment in male pregnancy looks very much like something else entirely - a devastatingly cynical act to promote gay rights. And making lots of money to boot....

The couple are also contracted to People magazine and with Oprah Winfrey, though Nancy insists they are not being paid by Winfrey. (She did not give details of the deal with People magazine.)

The pregnant dad was a neat business idea, then. But what about the gay rights activism? Both Beatie and Nancy have a long history of militancy and led a campaign to make gay marriage legal when they lived together in Hawaii before the move to Oregon two years ago.

Baby or political football? Beatie's friends in Hawaii say he seemed perfectly happy being in a lesbian relationship with Nancy and never talked about being confused about his gender. One has accused him of being about to bring, not a baby, but a 'political football' into the world.

It seems strange that, knowing he wanted children, Beatie had a sex change operation. By the same token, he says he wanted to be a man, but didn't have surgery to remove his female organs.

Further evidence of this couple's obsession with their sexuality is the name of their screen-printing business - Define Normal.
