I read the Mother's Day stories and could only reflect on my most favorite of all times. When my daughter and I were on our own, she was 4 years old. She talked to my dad almost every day in Florida, and she asked him to send her money so she could take me out for Mother's Day. Of course, I knew the plan, but never said a word as we dressed for breakfast out. She told me I would have to drive and she would tell me where to go. We drove to the neighborhood Burger King where she bought me most memorable breakfast. After that, we walked around Dana Point Harbor, fed the birds and had an ice cream later on. It reminds us that it doesn't matter what it costs, it's the thought.
