Curious if anyones heard anymore then what the times had on its website sun/mon? Said a 17 yr old was shot off vintage driving. Was there more to the story then what I read?
Not that i heard. My 25 year old said he heard it might be drugs/gang related. Unknown if thats true or not as the paper/news has been tight lipped on it since the initial shooting.
There was no drugs or gang involvement with the teenager that was shot. He is a good kid and well liked by everyone. the police are actively looking for the car that shot him.
I am surprized it didn't get more news attention especially if it was a random shooting as you say. There must be something more to this story? Don't see a lot of truly random shootings. Did he cross paths with someone that was negative? Haven't seen another word printed since the initial article which really surprizes me.
My husband saw the car as it sped either to or from the scene that day. He said there were 3 what appeared to be Hispanic males in it. It was indeed a maroonish red Acura - but he said it was more like an early 90's model.
I tried to call the Oakley PD to give them that info but I couldn't get past the recorded message. I tried a couple different times. Frustrating.
I called the number that was given in the newspaper. It said to call the Oakley PD at that number to report any information related to the incident.
I'll try that dispatch number. I don't think it's any info that they don't already have but you never know about some of the details. It could be one minor thing that brings a break in the case.
Oakley PD's are office hours 8 - 5 Monday thru Friday don't know if the PD office is closed on the city furlough days, no weekend hours. Local number for dispatch is 625-8060.
No they did not think it was his brother...Unless someone has valid information to give you shouldn't go making things up...It was from out of area and the police are still following all leads. If anyone has vaid information contact the police

No it was not drug related. They thought that he was someone else.. His brother.
