Someone needs to do something about the building.

This building is not doing any favors for the city.

There are Bee's swarming on one side of the building near a door. It looks like there is a hive right there.

Now there is bad graffitti showing up on the murals that were painted on the building. There is even graffitti on a building near by.

If nothing is going to be done with the building tear it down.

It's really a shame. That building has historical value and I believe it was being considered for possible landmark status. It was built in 1934 and when we were kids it was known as Stan's Brickhouse. Walnut Creek has made little effort to preserve it's history. The old Veterans Memorial Building built in 1925 was recently demolished to make way for parking, condos and retail. It's sad when a city forgets its past.

I remember Stan's Brickhouse sponsoring little league teams, but did not know what or where it was at the time. Of course, I wasn't a kid in 1934 like Stoney thoughCool. La Virage had a cool layout, and they served good Pousse Cafe's as well.

Yesterday 5 kids 12-14 years old were busted vandalizing the building. Trying to kick in the doors, etc. What a bunch of little brats. They really need to do something with that building. It is an eye sore and can be dangerous...

If they decide to tear it down, I hope they do a better job than this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwGE92upfQM

Is that one of those situations we keep hearing about where there's an erection that lasts longer than four hours?

Dining in those private rooms at Le Virage was fun. Opus One wine and Lobster! Pousse Cafes after dinner at the bar. Those were good times.

I hope they don't tear it down. Imagine the glory it could be restored to. I think some of you just have your panties in a bunch.

Thanks,

Too bad it has gone to ruin, I never ate a meal there but it seems almost like it would be worth saving?  Maybe for a youth building or a culinary restaurant, extension of DVC hotel/restaurant management classes.  I have a soft heart for keeping things of the past.
