The Drummond Beat of Media Mau Mauing Goes On and On
The latest shrill screed of Old Media Mau Mauing from ‘Tammy Tom Tom’ (Tamerlin Drummond – Cut Rate Editorialist at the ever shrinking CC Times staff) shows mostly the depths of desperation in the ‘news’ rooms of our Dead Tree Tabloids to fight off competition from the internet that has exposed the hollowness and bias in their alleged ‘reporting’.
The smoke and mirrors CENSORSHIP scams of our ‘Old Main-Steam Media’ simply cannot stand up to an internet that allows for rapid fact check and, perhaps most important of all in an age of “Censorship by Omission” – access to the expanded story with the “Ungood” facts still included.
Thus outlets like the Contra Costa Times have hemorrhaged both subscribers and profits to the point that it has been swallowed up by the Singleton Syndicate through the MediaNews division. And the alleged answer for the incestuous / conflicting relations between the ever dwindling leftist ownership circle of the bought and paid for ‘free press’ - is to provide extra print space for Rich Radical Leftist Hacks like Clint Reily to propagandize.
Despite this none to gentle prod from the new realm of cyber reality, the habits of the Mau Mau artistes of the Old Print Media (such as repeated serial Reader Bashing) tend to die very hard, as an earlier post witnessed some time ago in regard to the frothing rant of ‘Times Columnist’ (11/20/05) and Feminist-Nazi (but not the shortened version of [bleep]) - Misandrist extraordinaire ‘Tammy the little drummer girl’ Drummond.
In an Imperial Hissy Fit worthy of ‘Media’ dinosaurs lingering from last century, Ole Tammy went beyond the usual sanctimonious hypocritical preaching of radical gender feminist / leftist bile to the choir; and actually whipped herself in to such an ‘Obamaramacon’ frenzy that it is actually quite hilarious. For example, as proof of her ‘Qualification’ to chastise the lower orders (Subscribers) who dare to differ from her Imperious Dogma, she offered this shining gem of foot in mouth disease: “The temptation for those of us with IQs bigger than our shoe size is to let such stupidity go in one ear and out the other.”
The temptation for the rest of us, Dear Tammy, has long been not to speculate on just how small your feet (and thus your own estimated IQ) are; but rather to observe that even with oversize waders on statements like the above show that you still couldn’t make it in to double digits. As for impediments to information flow from one ear to the other, such as brain matter - she exhibits none. Not that that stops a ‘Times Columnist’ from jealousy guarding her turf and her place wallowing near the head of the trough, or as Tammy Said of Readers she dislikes: “Who do these people think they are? Who appointed them the thought Police?”
Indeed, there is room for only one set of supreme guardians of the ‘truthiness’, and it rightfully belongs to those noble watchdogs of journalistic freedom who can afford to buy printing presses and hire propagandists like Tammy – to wit the Bought and Paid for ‘Free Press’. From the Editorial Page to the Comics Page – the Endless Barrage of Radical Leftist / Gender Feminist / Homosex Propaganda just never ends at the Times, where all the ‘news’ is printed to fit – their Political Ideology.
Goodness – just the ‘Funny’ Pages alone contain more Leftist Political Bush / Republican Bashing than many Democrap Press Releases; and despite Repeated Widespread Calls for Balance (like the Cartoon “Mallard Fillmore”), our myopic seeing eye watchdogs of the press insist they alone know funny when they see it – which means when it is trashing their political opponents.
Regardless, If the future of the Old Dead Tree Media is to compete with the more glamorous internet, then preening narcisstic self involved Prima Donna Dinosaurs like Tammy the Drumbeater can certainly be traded in for a classier looking models too. Consider, Tammy whines endlessly about how mean Readers are to her, and then out the other side of her pie hole talks about another competing / opposing media pundit as: “…a man so unappealing that he makes Sam Donaldson look like Brad Pitt...”
I myself shall forebear from any graphic descriptions of the picture of Tammerlin Drummond – Times Columnist, that graced the page of the columns she writes. Just because she looks like an embittered, hagged out by hatred, withered ole (Feminist-Nazi but not the shorter [bleep]) bigot, shouldn’t influence our unbiased analysis of her opinion of Sam Donaldson’s Hairpiece; regardless of our deep and eternal reverence for the great man and his revered coif.
However, I do have one question for a woman so arrogant that she makes fun of how others look, and simultaneously prints a photo of her own ugly mug on top of the article: Didn’t your mama ever tell you about people who live in glass media troughs throwing rocks a the neighbors?
Best keep quiet about it though – Wouldn’t want to spread any “Ism-Obia” now?

20-20 BLINDSIGHT (It is not always just the Dead Tree Media that Spin Leftward and Beyond...)
MISANDRY - The hatred of Men, Masculinity and Normal Heterosexuality that pervades our Old Media like fluoride does the water supply, was truly abundant throughout the ABC 'news' program '20/20' last night (3/28/08) - but in the end it was the Old Media Festival of Orwellian Doublethink that permeated the show which made it such an outstanding example of the Radical Leftist / Gender Feminist / Homosex propaganda scam known as the "Audacity of Hoax."
In three segments '20-20' provided its myopic seeing eye watchdog spin on the Turkey Baster Baby Boom as well as the desperate attempts to Destroy Gender and Promote Homo-Anal Perversions, although the liberal use of deliberately sanitized and intentionally misleading euphemisms as a way of avoiding admitting such stark facts was employed to cloak this reality in a smarmy gloss over for the cameras. However, the Common Denominator to all the stories was MISANDRY - And literally eradicating the Missing Man from the Picture was an actual Goal of the Producers / Writers.
For example - a story about Turkey Baster Babies and "Anonymous Donors" (a true leftist political oxymoron, as the DNA Identity of the Parent in found the Child) and whether children have a right to know who their parents are, failed to take in to account the realities of the law in regard to Men and heterosexual procreation versus "Donors" - who are treated as if they have No Gender, No Identity and of course No Responsibility for their offspring. Perhaps the most telling argument Not Investigated is the one that claims unless these 'Donors' are allowed to remain anonymous (and thus exempt from discovery or responsibility) that very few would be willing to become parents.
Of course, discussion of the Dyke Separatist / Neo-Exterminationist pogrom of creating "A World Devoid of Men" was not part of the investigation either, although they were quite happy to exclude mention of Real Fathers and focus mainly on the rights and privileges of Mothers and Children versus - Anonymous and Genderless 'Donors'.
Another story tried to push the 'Born Homo-Anal' in the genes story, without any scientific backup - but with home movies of boys acting goofy and wanting to play with dolls as proof that - well they kind of skirted around the whole angle of how this lead to membership in the Coprophile cult of feces focused homo-anal perversions, but perhaps they will one day find a 'Coprophile' Gene that explains the behaviors of this group.
Finally, they ran what even they admitted was a potential hoax story out of a radical homosex propaganda source ... about the farcical attempt to pretend that a Pregnant - Self Mutilating - Dyke Misandrist had actually changed Her Gender and become 'male' and was thus going to give birth as 'his' own surrogate... Ahem
While the Misandrist Farce of gender change without DNA change is a favorite of the Radical Homosex lobby, the underlying Goal of this type of staged propaganda show is to attack the "Root of Evil" known as the male / penis and to 'Disappear' the Actual Male Presence of the Real Man / Father in the process, who if mentioned at all was referred to as a Genderless 'donor.' By De-Humanizing the Male Parent to the point of non-existence, the Media goes along with the Dyke Pogrom of eliminating Men (Legally, Politically, Physically) from the brave new world they also demand men must pay to create.

His professional ties to two clients, in particular -- state Senate President pro tempore David Roberti, and the then-Democratic congressional whip, Tony Coelho -- gave him access to party funding for his stable of candidates.
Last year, the multimillionaire citizen made a more successful foray into the public consciousness, filing a federal lawsuit aimed at stopping the Hearst Corp. from paying $66 million to Independent Publisher Ted Fang to "buy" Hearst's dwindling afternoon paper, the San Francisco Examiner, as part of a deal that would allow Hearst to purchase the much larger San Francisco Chronicle without breaking antitrust laws.
Testimony in the highly publicized trial revealed that top Hearst executives and Brown discussed "horse-trading" favorable coverage of the mayor in return for his support of the newspaper sale. United States District Court Judge Vaughn Walker called the whole deal "malodorous." The judge ruled against Reilly on a technicality, but, in an unusual move, Walker awarded $2 million in attorney's fees and costs to the loser.
News coverage of the suit generally portrayed Reilly as public-spirited and concerned with ethics. It was a true public relations coup...Reilly's support of it forged new ties to the city's so-called progressive groups and politicians.
Reilly is proud of his ties to the new supervisors ("I had no allies. Now I am electing people who are allies of mine!"), and says he wants to work with them to improve their images, lest they be sullied by the Chronicle, which, Reilly says, is trying to portray them as kooky.
Mostly, though, Reilly is concentrating on improving his own image, which took a phenomenal beating during his run for mayor.
... But after Bronstein (Phil - "Lizard Bait" Bronstein, Ediutor of the Chronicle and Komodo Dragon Wrestler) broke his ankle, he claims, the puff pieces were suddenly filled with razor blades. In 1994, for instance, the Los Angeles Times ran a major profile on Reilly, written by Amy Wallace. Her first sentence labeled Reilly a "vitriol-spewing millionaire." Reilly complains that Wallace's long list of his sins gave too much credence to the opinions of his enemies. There is some truth to his beef. Considered in the long view, the profile does seem one-sided, at one point describing Reilly as "a walking cluster bomb."...
During the final leg of the mayor's race in 1999, Willie Brown's chief campaign adviser, John R. "Jack" Davis, went on the record with an unsubstantiated accusation that Reilly beat up a woman 20 years ago. No medical or police records were produced. In fact, no woman, or name, was ever produced in public by Davis, who worked with Reilly on Frank Jordan's successful 1991 race for mayor. But Davis enjoys tremendous access to the local press, due in no small measure to his intimacy with Brown...
Reilly believes that reporters and editors for the Chronicle and the then-Hearst-owned Examiner were consciously or unconsciously biased against his candidacy because they wanted to please Davis, their reliable source, and Bronstein, the Reilly foe who ultimately became senior vice president and executive editor of the merged newspapers.
A bit later, Reilly returns to one of his favorite themes: There is no honor left in politics because of the press. Because, as it turns out, there is no honor left in journalism, either. Even the man on the street thinks most journalists are corrupt. Young reporters start out with noble intentions, Reilly says, but the owners of newspapers -- the de Youngs, the Hearst Corp. -- co-opt them, gradually changing them until they can no longer distinguish rumor from fact.

Jack Davis, the San Francisco political consultant who worked on Newsom's 2003 campaign and more recently was looking for someone to challenge Newsom in November, said it takes a lot for San Francisco voters to care about what goes on in a politician's personal life.
His 1997 birthday bash, which involved a performance artist being sodomized by a bottle of Jack Daniel's before a who's-who of local elected officials, drew a series of front-page headlines, but had little impact on any careers.
"There was blood and urine and Jack Daniel's up the keister," Davis said Thursday. "If people don't care about that, I don't think what anybody puts in their nose really matters much at all."...
John Burton, former state senator, counts Newsom and Daly as friends and said that Daly's cocaine comments were just "Chris being Chris again ..."
He served in Congress for eight years before announcing his retirement in 1982 and entering a rehab program for alcohol and cocaine abuse. Six years later, he was back in the state Legislature.
"I got elected and re-elected after I did it," Burton said.

Drudge-ology 101: McCain, Obama and Media Bias
Yesterday was a typical recent day on the Drudge Report -- the single most influential source for how the presidential campaign is covered in the country.
In the banner headline spot for most of the day was a picture of entertainer Barbra Streisand touting a Beverly Hills fundraiser for Barack Obama -- not exactly the sort of headline that the Illinois senator wants as chum for the cable channels 49 days before the election.
Two other stories never merited attention from Drudge: a claim by a senior aide to John McCain that the Arizona senator had invented the BlackBerry and a statement by McCain surrogate Carly Fiorina that neither McCain nor Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would be equipped to serve as CEO of a major U.S. company.
(A quick note to preempt the inevitable argument that Drudge's influence is overblown. Tomorrow morning, take a minute to look at the stories Drudge is highlighting. Then, later in the day, watch a few cable channels to see what stories they are talking about. It will open your eyes.)
The emphasis on Obama's Hollywood ties and the omission of two negative McCain items is consistent with a broader trend over the past month (or so) that has seen the Arizona senator receive far better treatment from Drudge than he had during the primary season when, as several other acute political observers noted at the time, a number of tough stories for McCain regularly appeared on Drudge.
The increase in positive McCain stories featured on Drudge has coincided with more skeptical coverage of Obama's candidacy. In recent weeks, Drudge has featured in his center well spot: A picture of Obama shooting at a far off basketball hoop with a subtitle asking "Will he get his groove back?"; an image of Obama sweating on stage at the Democratic National Convention during the Illinois senator's acceptance speech; and heavy coverage of the "lipstick on a pig" comments.
What explains the change in tone? It's easy to lapse into the tired old logic that Drudge is nothing more than a conservative mouthpiece returning to his roots as election day nears.
But, those who follow the news choices that Drudge makes on a day in and day out basis -- Democrats and Republicans alike -- argue that the shift in focus by Drudge is in keeping with a long time strain of his site: a healthy disdain for the mainstream media and their perceived biases.
"The Drudge Report penalizes mainstream media bias more effectively than any other venue," said one Drudge-ologist who was granted anonymity to speak candidly. "The more flags Drudge throws, the more site traffic he seems to get."
These Drudge-ologists (of which The Fix considers himself one) note that the coverage turned in earnest after McCain named Palin as his running mate.
Palin, an unknown commodity on the national stage, was immediately greeted with a series of tough stories about her background (Bristol Palin's pregnancy, Troopergate, earmark questions).
The McCain campaign smartly turned those stories into an "us versus them" narrative all its own, alleging that the mainstream media was trying to destroy Palin because she didn't fit the press' image of what a vice presidential candidate should look like.
Drudge, believing that the media had gone overboard in its skewering of Palin, began playing up stories that highlighted Palin's crowds and the polls that showed that the Alaska governor had helped bring McCain back to even in national head to heads. (Two recent prominent links from Drudge that provide evidence for the above statements: this item from the Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol about Palin coverage in the Post and this one reminding Newsweek of the favorable coverage they gave Palin in 2007.)
Palin -- and the mainstream media's coverage of her -- reminded us of another insight into Drudge: his strongest motivator is driving traffic to his site, not pushing some ideological agenda.
Palin, as The Fix can attest to, was and continues to be gold for blogs and Internet sites; love her or hate her -- and almost everybody, political or not, feels one way or the other -- Palin drives Internet traffic and conversation/comments like no one since, well, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The second part of that traffic equation is the belief among many people that the media is fundamentally biased. In a Pew poll conducted last summer 55 percent of the national sample said the press was biased in their coverage while 31 percent said the press was "careful that their reporting is not politically biased." In an ABC News survey conducted the day after Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention, 50 percent of those surveyed said the media had treated the Alaska governor fairly while forty one percent said they had not. Of that latter group, 39 percent blamed the unfair treatment on "political bias" while 15 percent said it was the result of "sexism." (Hat tip to Post polling director Jon "The Numbers Man" Cohen and polling analyst Jennifer "J-Bug" Agiesta for their help in harvesting that data.)
Couple Palin's natural appeal on the Web and the hint of media bias and it's easy to see the perfect storm of web traffic brewing and a smart explanation of the flood of more positive coverage for McCain and more negative coverage for Obama on Drudge of late.
"Matt Drudge is successful because he has a nose for news: Sometimes his choice of stories and photos reflect the current news narrative, but often it reflects Drudge's understanding of where it is going," explained Tim Griffin, a GOP attorney and strategist who was U.S. Attorney in Arkansas and has held senior roles at the Republican National Committee and White House.

In one of his pompously authoritative "Public Service Messages" (Sept. 9), the immensely omniscient Clint Reilly gushingly praises members of the MediaNews group for "adding an important new perspective to their editorial boards."
New perspective? Given the undeniable leftist slant of all the MediaNews editorial boards, it's hard to understand how adding more liberal voices, whom Reilly euphemistically describes as "exemplary local citizens," can be considered a new perspective.
With the possible exception of Quentin Kopp, the exemplary local citizens are steeped in the leftist dogma of the putrescent Democrat (not Democratic) Party.
Some of their backgrounds: an executive director of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, the pastor of the largest predominantly African American Catholic parish in the East Bay, an assistant director of the Chabot College Foundation, president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Alameda County, a former aide to Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a middle school math teacher.
Leading the august group is, get this: a UC Berkeley-educated public policy specialist and editor. UC Berkeley? Whoop-dee-doo!
By the way, does Reilly pay the going advertising rate for his gems of wisdom? If not, can any "businessman" use the MediaNews magnanimous offer of spewing political propaganda?

The Overwhelmingly Radical Leftist / Gender Feminist / Homosex Bias of the Old Media comes through loud and cleary - regardless of which channel one turns to.
For example - the Doonsbury Slam today on Sarah Palin is certainly cutting edge Political Lampoon, which is why it belongs on the Editorial Page along with all the other political hit pieces (can you say Ellen Goodperson) - along with such as 'Candorville' / 'Wiley' and other Political Propaganda.
Missing from the lineup are any works balancing the 'humor' load - like "Mallard Fillmore" and others, as we certainly wouldn't want to expose the readers to any "Ungood" ideas.

* Public street orgies in which men engage in heinous sex acts as thousands of fairgoers walk by;
* Public sadistic whippings, acts of “consensual” degradation and “master-and-slave” partners;
* Blatant anti-Christian bigotry – e.g., the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” — transvestite mock “nuns” who work closely with Folsom; and religious-themed “sex toys” sold by vendors.
* Public health hazards: Folsom promotes local gay sex clubs where unsafe, anonymous sodomies (e.g., “barebacking”) occur that spread diseases.

The front page banner story in a recent Old Dead Tree Media tabloid from the (Singleton / MediaNews / Bay Area News Group / Times) 'news' syndicate, is illustrative of the Pro-Homosex Activism that will increasingly characterize our bought and paid for 'watchdogs' of the 'free press', as they proudly frog march the 'Vanilla' (clueless voters / taxpayers) off the nearest cliff and onward towards eventual election 'victory'.... BAMN - By Any Means Necessary.
The Spin Machine is not only moving in to high gear in pushing the Radical Gender Feminist / Homosex Attack on Marriage, with a boat load of Hollyweird Homosex lobby money to grease the ways - but is also ratcheting up the equally important CENSORSHIP Campaign necessary to keep said 'Vanilla' clueless during the process. Hence, their intent is to always Deny Any Information that might lead to said Vanilla developing any 'Ungood' viewpoints about just what is going on, at least not until after said election.
Thus - an important story about the spread of Multiple Treatment Resistant STAPH Infections contains one 'Necessary Omission' - at least if viewed from the perspective of Mandatory Pandering to the Radical Homosex Agenda (and particularly that of the Coprophile Cult of Homo-Anal Perversions - as personified by the two Coprophile Activists representing S.F. in the Weimar Kalifornia Legislature: "Kiddie Porn King" Leno and 'Tommy Turdpacker' Ammiano) - by which we mean the Suppression of Important Public Health Information that reflects in an Ungoodly (and thus 'intolerant') manner on those practicing Homo-Anal Perversions.

The MediaNews syndicate avoided any mention of the Homo-Anal connection to this latest Mega Resistant Staph outbreak, first by refusing to run the initial stories about it and its sources - despite the stories being reported worldwide by others; and later by running the following fluff piece in its papers - one that just loves to dance gaily around the basic facts of how this is being spread, kind of like a blowfly around a honey barge, only different.
For Comparison purposes - I also provide an excerpt from the story by Sabin Russell at the SF Chronicle published on the same day. Which story rather clearly outlines the impetus behind the censorship demands the East Bay News Group gave in to, as huffed by no less a Coprophile mau mau artiste than the reigning queen of Sodom by the Sea - 'Tommy Turdpacker' Ammmiano - the heir apparent to the legislative seat of 'Kiddie Porn King' Leno - who will take over for (if never truly replace) ole $5 Smidgen in the Senate.

California will require reporting of severe cases of staph infections, including an antibiotic resistant "superbug" known as MRSA, health officials announced Thursday. The goal is to better understand how to prevent the public health threat.

"I think we should be very, very cautious about this. There are privacy concerns," he said. "We need to know what the goals are, and what the benefits would be."

That report, and the subsequent media coverage of it around the world, deeply angered some members of the city's gay community.
Ammiano denounced a report in The Chronicle about it as "irresponsible" and "homophobic," during a committee hearing Wednesday.

The Harvey Milk Club political action committee held its endorsement meeting at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center on Market Street the other day - and from the sound of things, it was a real head spinner.
The lemony cake on the snack table was laced with marijuana, courtesy of the Access of Love cannabis collective.
It wasn't long before a number of unsuspecting attendees began feeling the effects.
When finally told of the secret ingredient, one gentleman angrily demanded an explanation from club leaders.
"It's my birthday," shouted the guest who had brought the cannabis confection.

NBC jokes: Todd Palin has sex with daughters
'Saturday Night Live' skit suggests Sarah's husband guilty of incest

A week after a high-profile send-up of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," the NBC comedy show returned to making fun of the Alaskan governor in a skit where New York Times reporters sought to probe the possibility Palin's husband, Todd, was having sex with the couple's own daughters.
"What about the husband?" asked a Times reporter during a mock assignment meeting for the paper. "You know he's doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It's Alaska."
The assignment editor for the Times, portrayed by actor James Franco, responded: "He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin."
The skit featured a photo of one reporter and an on-screen message that stated, "In 2009 [reporter] Howland Gwathmey Moss, V was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his Times series on unproven, yet un-disproven incest in the Palin family. Sadly, he was to die 3 months later, run over by a snow machine, driven by a polar bear." The final shot showed an image of a New York Times page, with headlines that included:
"While No Direct Evidence of Incest in Palin Family Emerges, Counter Evidence Remains Agonizingly Elusive" and "In a Small Alaska Town, Doubts Still Linger."
The sketch seemed to be designed to mock how out of touch journalists from the Big Apple are when it comes to their knowledge of Alaska, with left-leaning, Manhattan-dwelling reporters mistaking a snowmobile for a "baptizing machine," a crucifix and a NordicTrack exerciser in photographs held up for them.
Some viewers expressed outrage. "It is time the Palin family brought out the big guns. They need to sue General Electric, NBC, 'Saturday Night Live,'" said Al Barrs of Bascom, Fla. "This is clearly criminal and defamation of character of an entire family and state. All the above needs to be taken to their knees big time once and for all."
"What if somebody did one with this kind of humor on Obama and his daughters?" asked Jim Cash of Chattanooga, Tenn. "What an uproar there would be. This line of humor is tasteless and moronic and about as low as they could go. There simply must be an uproar over this. We cannot let this just pass."
But others, such as Ana Jimenez, believe the episode was all in good fun, since the program is a comedy show. "Anyone that watched Saturday's show and believed the skit in which it was suggested that there was incest in the Palin household needs to have [his] head examined," said Jimenez. "The purpose of the joke (tacky and crude as it was, I did not care for it at all by the way) was to show how out of touch journalists are – not an attack on the Palin household. Sheesh, get a grip!"
NBC's website for "Saturday Night Live" normally contains video clips of the show's comedy routines, but, interestingly, the clip of the incest sketch was never posted online.
The show opened with a brief skit making fun of truth-enhanced TV ads John McCain was approving for his campaign. One ad claimed that since Barack Obama was in favor of universal health care, that meant coverage for everyone in the entire universe, including terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden.
The Politico reported the opening scene was crafted with the help of former castmember Al Franken, a Democrat currently running for the U.S. Senate from Minnesota.

ABC, NBC, CBS strongly support Obama - Study Says
'Coverage bordered on giddy celebration of political rock star'

A comprehensive analysis of every evening news report by the NBC, ABC and CBS television networks on Barack Obama since he came to national prominence concludes coverage of the Illinois senator has "bordered on giddy celebration of a political 'rock star' rather than objective newsgathering."
The new study by the Media Research Center, which tracks bias in the media, is summarized on the organization's website, where the full report also has been published. It reveals that positive stories about Obama over that time outnumbered negative stories 7-1, and significant controversies such as Obama's relationship with a convicted Chicago man have been largely ignored.
Rich Noyes, the research director for the MRC, told WND Obama has "always received very positive press from the national media," and that was a "huge boost to anyone seeking a national political career." That's contrary to the normal "default position" for reporters of being slightly cynical and a little skeptical, he said. It is "not the normal professional approach you see in journalists," he said.
Noyes said the results imply that the Democratic National Convention in Denver next week, where Obama is expected to be nominated and has scheduled an acceptance speech in the city's 75,000-seat football stadium, will generate much media praise for the candidate.
If Obama is described by the media repeatedly as the historic first black to carry a political party's nomination for president while presumptive GOP candidate Sen. John McCain is just a Republican, that would give Obama an advantage, he said. The MRC said it located every story referencing Obama on ABC's World News, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News "from the time Obama emerged on the national stage."
"The three evening news broadcasts may not be able to tout the high ratings of a generation ago, but together averaged more than 23 million combined viewers from January through early June of this year, far more than their cable news competitors," the MRC said.
A total of 1,365 news stories and interviews offered "at least some discussion" of Obama, and 40 percent focused exclusively on Obama. NBC aired 490 stories, ABC 464 and CBS had 411.
Brent Bozell, president of the MRC, said in a news release accompanying the report the bottom line issue for journalism is that the Big Three networks, "had a horse in this year's Democratic primary race."
He also credited the three networks with providing Obama's "margin of victory" over fellow Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton. "The press fixated their infatuated gazes on Sen. Obama, and afforded him the crucial coverage and support he needed to win," Bozell said.
The study noted Obama's victory over Clinton was by 41,622 votes out of 35 million, one-tenth of a percentage point. But it said the networks provided Obama with 462 positive stories during the studied time frame, to just 70 that were critical, and Obama got "his best press when it mattered most, as he debuted on the national scene.
All of the networks lavished him with praise when he was the keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic Convention, and did not produce a single negative story about Obama (out of 81 total reports) prior to the start of his presidential campaign in 2007, the study said.
As important as the positive spin the MRC found, "the networks downplayed or ignored major Obama gaffes and scandals. Obama's relationship with convicted influence peddler Tony Rezko was the subject of only two full reports (one each on ABC and NBC) and mentioned in just 15 other stories. CBS and NBC also initially downplayed controversial statements from Obama's longtime pastor Jeremiah Wright, but heavily praised Obama's March 18 speech on race relations."
Even when the networks were giving Obama his worst publicity, they still offered two positive stories about him for every critical report, the MRC said. Tellingly, they referred to Obama as "rock star, "rising star," or "superstar" 29 times in four years, describing him as "liberal" only 14 times.
"Perhaps if he had faced serious journalistic scrutiny instead of media cheerleading, Barack Obama might still have won his party's nomination. But the tremendously positive coverage that the networks bestowed upon his campaign was of incalculable value," the report said.
"The early celebrity coverage helped make Obama a nationally-known figure with a near-perfect media image. The protectiveness that reporters showed during the early primaries made it difficult for his rivals to effectively criticize him. And when it came to controversies such as the Wright affair, network reporters acted more as defenders than as journalists in an adversarial relationship. If the media did not actually win the Democratic nomination for Barack Obama, they surely made it a whole lot easier," the report said.
The report said the bias the MRC uncovered also has not been lost on Americans.
"The Pew Research Center surveyed about 1,000 adults in late May and reported that 'far more Americans believe that the press coverage has favored Barack Obama than think it has favored Hillary Clinton,' even with 35 percent of Democrats seeing 'a pro-Obama bias,'" the report said.
A Rasmussen survey in July found nearly half of voters believe most reporters try to help Obama with their reporting. The report cited instances such as when MSNBC's Chris Matthews said when he was listening to Obama, "I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often."
During the 2004 DNC, then-NBC anchor Tom Brokaw said of Obama: "His national debut is getting rave reviews … This blessed young father of two is the son of a Kenyan working-class man and a white Midwestern mother. Both his parents are gone, but the lessons of their love are not."
Conversely, Brokaw said the Republican keynoter that year, Democratic Sen. Zell Miller, was "torching his party and its ticket." "Obama in 2007 had the luxury of launching his presidential campaign having never once been the subject of a negative evening news story," the report said.
Significantly, when Obama claimed his parents "got together" because of "what happened in Selma," ABC and NBC ignored the fact that Obama was born in August 1961 and Selma's civil rights march happened three months later.
Later when a Clinton campaign surrogate suggested Obama's admissions of using cocaine could be exploited in a general election, the networks called out the Clinton campaign for its "dirty trick." That contrasted to eight years earlier, when candidate George W. Bush was pushed aggressively to reveal whether he might have used cocaine.
"If the media did not actually win the Democratic nomination for Barack Obama, they surely made his road to the White House a whole lot smoother," the report concluded.

BLANKLEY: Media covering for Obama

The mainstream media have gone over the line and are now straight out propagandists for the Obama campaign. While they have been liberal and blinkered in their worldview for decades, in 2007-08 for the first time, the major media are consciously covering for one candidate for president and consciously knifing the other. This is no longer journalism — it is simply propaganda. (The American left-wing version of the Volkischer Beobachter cannot be far behind.) And as a result, we are less than seven weeks away from possibly electing a president who has not been thoroughly and even half way honestly presented to the country by our watchdogs — the press.
The image of Barack Obama that the press has presented is not a fair approximation of the real man. They have consciously ignored whole years in his life, and showed a lack of curiosity about such gaps that bespeaks a lack of journalistic instinct. Thus, the public image of Mr. Obama is of a "Man who never was." I take that phrase from a 1956 movie about a real life WWII British intelligence operation to trick the Germans into thinking the Allies were going to invade Greece, rather than Italy, in 1943. Operation "Mincemeat" involved the acquisition of a human corpse dressed as a Maj. William Martin, R.M. and put into the sea near Spain. Attached to the corpse was a brief-case containing fake letters suggesting that the Allied attack would be against Sardinia and Greece.
To make the operation credible, British intelligence created a fictional life for the corpse — a letter from a lover, tickets to a London theater, all the details of a life — but not the actual life of the dead young man whose corpse was being used. So, too, the man the media has presented to the nation as Mr. Obama is not the real man.
The mainstream media ruthlessly and endlessly repeats any McCain gaffes, while ignoring Obama gaffes. You have to go to weird little Internet sites to see all the stammering and stuttering that Mr. Obama needs before getting out a sentence fragment or two. But all you see on the networks is an eventual one or two clear sentences from Mr. Obama. Nor do you see Mr. Obama's ludicrous gaffe that Iran is a tiny country and no threat to us. Nor his 57 American states gaffe. Nor his forgetting, if he ever knew, that Russia has a veto in the United Nations. Nor his whining and puerile "come on" when he is being challenged. This is the kind of editing one would expect from Goebbels' disciples, not Cronkite's.
More appalling, NBC's "Saturday Night Live" suggested that Gov. Sarah Palin's husband had sex with his own daughters. That scene was written with the assistance of Al Franken, Democratic Party candidate for Senate in Minnesota. Talk about incest.
But worse than all the unfair and distorted reporting and image projecting, is the shocking gaps in Mr. Obama's life that are not reported at all. The major media simply has not reported on Mr. Obama's two years at Columbia University in New York, where, among other things, he lived a mere quarter mile from former terrorist Bill Ayers— after which they both ended up as neighbors and associates in Chicago. Mr. Obama denies more than a passing relationship with Mr. Ayers. Should the media be curious? In only two weeks the media has focused on all the colleges Mrs. Palin has attended, her husband's driving habits 20 years ago and the close criticism of Mrs. Palin's mayoral political opponents. But in two years they haven't bothered to see how close Mr. Obama was with the terrorist Ayers.
Nor have the media paid any serious attention to Mr. Obama's rise in Chicago politics — how did honest Obama rise in the famously sordid Chicago political machine with the full support of Boss Daley? Despite the great — and unflattering details on Mr. Obama's Chicago years presented in David Freddoso's new book, the mainstream media continues to ignore both the facts and the book. It took a British publication, the Economist, to give Mr. Freddoso's book a review with fair comment.
The public image of Mr. Obama as an idealistic, post-race, post-partisan, well-spoken and honest young man with the wisdom and courage befitting a great national leader is a confection spun by a willing conspiracy of Mr. Obama, his publicist David Axelrod and most of the senior editors, producers and reporters of the national media.
Perhaps that is why the National Journal's respected correspondent Stuart Taylor has written that "the media can no longer be trusted to provide accurate and fair campaign reporting and analysis." That conspiracy has not only photo-shopped out all of Mr. Obama's imperfections (and dirtied up his opponent Mr. McCain's image), but it has put most of his questionable history down the memory hole.
The public will be voting based on the idealized image of the man who never was. If he wins, however, we will be governed by the sunken, cynical man Mr. Obama really is. One can only hope that the senior journalists will be judged as harshly for their professional misconduct as Wall Street's leaders currently are for their failings.

Folsom 'fair' Spreads STDs Far and Wide:

SAN FRANCISCO — How do you describe the most depraved public event in the most depraved city in America? Well, we’ll let the pictures do the talking — with our strategically-placed black boxes so as not to reward the perverted exhibitionists who invaded the city’s streets Sunday for the “Folsom Street Fair.” The Fair is an annual street party for BDSM enthusiasts (meaning bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism — or domination/submission) held on several blocked-off city streets here, that reportedly draws hundreds of thousands of “leather” practitioners and curious spectators every year. All frontal nudity is blocked below.

Keep in mind as you look at these documented public acts of perversion that San Francisco police took a very passive, “hands off” role at the Fair — despite the national outrage and unprecedented media attention on Folsom following revelations that organizers used a perverted mockery of Da Vinci’s Last Supper painting as their promotional artwork. (The Last Supper rip-off adorned the small stickers given to every person who paid the $5 to get into Folsom; see photo above.)
Indeed, we watched as police standing on the street or just outside the blocked-off perimeter of Folsom did nothing as men walked by baring their genitals (only the men did this; some women bared their breasts). One extended orgiastic scene we witnessed involving several men (see photo below) took place on crowded Folsom Street as hundreds if not thousands of people walked by — yet police took no action.
We spoke with several policemen and security guards and the consensus was that rampant nudity and public sex are expected every year at Folsom Street (this was the event’s 25th year) and that it is the city’s politicians — from the Mayor on down – who are to blame for allowing it. three_nude_guys_at_folsom.JPG (Mayor Gavin Newsom greeted Folsom Street attendees in a letter published in the Fair’s program, warmly telling them to “have a great day and enjoy this wonderful and exciting event.”) It seemed to us that the police, as law “enforcers,” were put in the very awkward position of overseeing sexual anarchy and general lawlessness, as clearly there was no expectation that laws would be enforced to stop the public sex and nudity — assuming such anti-lewdness laws exist in San Francisco and California.
In addition to the nudity and public sex acts, there were public whippings and spankings. Some were held at booths: the AIDS Emergency Fund was hawking charity spankings for $5 each — and others apparently occurring spontaneously, if you can say that about an act of consensual, “erotic” violence. We witnessed one man whipping his “partner” on a sidewalk, the “whippee’s” back becoming a brighter red with each round of punishment — done out of love, we are told by the sadists.

And we witnessed many ”master-slave” “couples,” one leading the other around with a dog collar, of both the homosexual and heterosexual variety. The Folsom Street Fair began as an event mainly for homosexual sadomasochists, but it now attracts many straights, as evidenced by the thousands of women visible at this year’s event.
Gawkers and photo-takers were everywhere at Folsom, adding to the surrealness of the experience. Twice we witnessed people posing for photos with totally nude men, one who had been masturbating at a curb, as if the latter were celebrities. The fair/freak show was truly an exhibitionists’ dream, made possible by San Francisco’s moral and legal laxity.
So pervasive was the public (mostly male) nudity that it seemed the more “modest” homosexuals were the ones wearing only underwear or leather chaps exposing their behind.

After a day of walking through this bizarre and hellish “fair” — with occasional “normalcy breaks” to restore our sanity – what struck us was a sense of “tolerance gone wild” in the City by the Bay. If you can tolerate men having sex in the streets, then you can tolerate just about anything. During one respite, when I (Peter) complained to a San Francisco resident about the public sex and nudity going on at Folsom just a block or two away, he grew cold and said, “To each his own.”
To each his own? “I don’t prefer to have sex in the streets, but if that’s your thing, go for it”? San Francisco is a lesson in the evils of liberal, open-ended “tolerance.” On the one hand, the city’s supervisors and left-wing activists harass and condemn Christian youth who seek to promote virtue and a godly lifestyle to San Francisco teenagers. Then the same city leaders welcome with open arms — and emasculated law enforcement — the most perverted public street festival imaginable, with a strong dose of anti-Christian bigotry to boot.
More important than what Folsom says about sadomasochists — after all, those were proud perverts out on Sunday — is what it says about (mostly straight) social liberals and libertarians. Quick to bash – that is, judge – the “religious right,” they are deathly afraid of criticizing or “judging” anything homosexuality-related, even heinous perversion festivals where human beings are walked around with collars like dogs! How troubled are you that Speaker Pelosi has carefully couched her words so as not to offend those who would reconfigure the Last Supper to include sex toys and deviant “fetishists”?

At one point the man at left yelled out, “I’m seeing too many cameras and not enough dicks!” “Tolerance” has run amuck in San Francisco. Of course, it’s one-way: the same “Sisters” (see below) who welcomed the sadomasochists into Folsom Sunday protested vehemently against the Christian teen outreach group BattleCry, which held an evangelistic rally in San Francisco last year.

The Sisters’ motto is, appropriately, “Go forth and sin some more!”

No doubt about it Ohso/Clayton was at the fair, had a great time and is now trying to assuage its peculiar brand of self guilt at all of the pleasure it had by attacking all of those happy leather, not all gay, folk at the fair.

Oh "Watchdogz" Where Arte Thou???
Pleasanton Library Bias and Censorship
Whenever our alleged ‘Watchdogs’ of the bought and paid for ‘Free Press’ turn their politically myopic gaze on the subject of ‘Banned Books” and other forms of censorship, it is a good bet that they have first adjusted their own ideological blinders to filter out all ‘Ungood’ information that might sully the purity of Their Own Cause…
– To Wit: the Radical Leftist / Gender Feminist / Homosex Political Mau Mauing of the ‘Vanilla’ (clueless readers / voters) in to voting as they are told in the next election.
The Pleasanton CA Library has long provided an example of such Biased Extremist Political Agendas at work in our allegedly unbiased public ‘information’ services, and such ‘hyrstory’ is well documented with the Library Commission. However, the treatment of Author Tammy Bruce and her vitally important book “The Death of Right and Wrong” , serves as a classic example of the types of subterfuge employed to cover up what our Old Media ‘Watchdogs’ would otherwise (were the politics reversed) denounce as Blatant Censorship.
Tammy Bruce is one of the Authors most hated and feared by the Left, not because she says much that others haven’t already done before, but because she was once a true believer / insider (Former Head of the NOW in L.A.) and her exposure of her former comrades in the Twysted Systerhood is absolutely devastating of all their pretensions.
In fact Tammy Bruce is so heavily censored herself, that despite being the most prominent Woman / Homosexual on Der Arnold’s “Transition Team” when he took office after the recall, the Only Mention of her in the Frisco Paper was as part of a list of that team, without any explanation. Not only were her books ignored (even giving a bad review was considered taboo, as it might lead people to read her book anyway) but her prominent position during and after the recall was virtually blacked out by the Old Media. It wasn’t until September of 2009 that the Frisco Crock-a-bull again allowed her to be published (on electoral sexism) in print (The Contra Costa Times / MediaNews / Singleton syndicate still refuses to acknowledge her).
Anywayyyy… The Death of Right and Wrong came out in 2003 (during the recall hoopla) and was an immediate controversial hit – exposing as it did from the inside the agenda of Misandry and Bigotry of the Radical Gender Feminist / Homosex movement. The Pleasanton Library actually acquired a copy of it and placed the book on the “New Books” shelf, along with other recent arrivals, so the public could be exposed to this fine work. The purpose of the new books shelf was to expose the public to new works and authors they might not otherwise have been aware of, and is often touted as part of their commitment to ‘diversity’. Ahem.
However, The Death of Right and Wrong, shortly after being placed on the New Books shelf in Pleasanton - was summarily removed and hidden away on a back shelf between dusty old male bashing tirades from the 1970s era. This was entirely contrary to existing library policy, which provided for a set period of time for display on New Books before rotation to the stacks.
When I went to look for a copy of the book I learned what had been done – I wanted to find out why the Library had violated its own rules for New Books and length of display times as regarded this work. I was chagrinned to discover that the head librarian, Julie Farnsworth (makes @$130k/ yr for the job), knew full well about the treatment of Tammy Bruce’s important New Book and its removal from public display, and was completely in favor of such unique treatment.
Farnsworth’s ‘answer’ to the question of why this form of Censorship had been employed to keep the book from the public, was that: “People who Already Know about this Author and her New Book would be able to find it using the catalog…” If they were lucky of course, as so many ‘Ungood’ books simply seem to disappear without any trace at all.
Farnsworth simply refused to discuss how the removal of a New Book from the New Book shelf for Political Reasons flatly destroys the very purpose of a New Book shelf, let alone why This Particular Book was Singled Out for such Unique Treatment. No doubt, like other forms of Thought Policing by the Left, the notion of exposing the public who may not be familiar with a work or author to information which debunks the Political Ideology of the Library Staff – is simply Too Ungood for Words.
I have run in to these types of Political Censorship in far too many libraries over too many years, all pointed at censoring certain types of material, to ascribe it to chance or error any more. Besides Ms. Bruce, certain other types of authors have aroused the Censors Ire more than others, and sometimes lead to books being banned or simply treated in a number of ways to make them ‘disappear. Such appears to be the case with “Legalizing Misandry” – which Alameda County refuses to even list in their catalog. The purpose of such Total Censorship of an Entire Subject Category is to avoid even the inclusion of the Very Subject of Misandry in any data base that can be searched by Library Patrons – and thus Censor the Very Concept (a Thought Police Tradition) of Institutional Hatred of Men.
Finally, although our “Watchdogs” avoid this topic as well – Many Libraries often chooses books using only lists provided by ideologically biased newspapers like the NY Times and SF Chronicle, which often refuse to review books which do not conform to their politics. Such Scams have been used in Pleasanton / Alameda to effectively censor books – Simply by saying, “If it isn’t on the review list, we don’t order it.”
Beyond these bureaucratic means of viewpoint discrimination, other means have also been used in Pleasanton and elsewhere to limit what readers are allowed to see. Some of the more common methods encountered in the past (and thus worth looking out for in the future) include:
1.) Censorship by Indexing. Some places actually have books by heretic authors in their collections. The problem being that they are not cross-referenced in the indexes under subject headings where they naturally fit.
For instance, at the University of the Pacific in Stockton Ca, some Ungood Books about Feminism are actually in the library but not cross-referenced. Thus, if you run a subject search (Misandry, or Feminism) the books do not appear in the electronic catalog. It is only if you already know that they are there and specifically search by author or title that you can find them, and others doing a subject search (say a new student researching the field) would never know such Ungood works even existed.
2.) New Book Scam. A perennial favorite, occurring regularly in many libraries. When new books come in they are marked as such, and steered to a special browsing section of the library for display to the public, usually for up to a year or more. This ensures that patrons get a chance to see what is new and available. The scam is to remove the label or alter the system so certain new books are never registered as such, and then let them rot on the shelves where they are not going to be found unless looked for.
3.) Check Out Scam. This often works in conjunction with new book scams, where a group of zealots will check out a new book in serial order (placing reserve holds on it) for the maximum length, and then renew it again. I have seen some scams that kept books out of circulation for over a year, which in turn meant that it was removed from the new book section and again buried on a back shelf.
4.) Hide & Seek. This is a perennial favorite of many, as you simply take a book and relocate it to a dusty shelf dealing with other issues, and nobody can find it or even claim it was checked out and lost. Of course certain types of books are often not looked for as hard as other kinds of books, in certain kinds of libraries.
There are of course other methods, such as controlling book selection at the outset, which is more common to the pathetic farce of Academentia although depending on a Newspaper list for ‘acceptable’ books can produce the same effect, without the specific blame for censorship. Regardless, many Public Library Patrons have missed out on important information over the years, all at the hands of such politically motivated Censorship Zealots, who want to control what we are allowed to read and think. That tax money is used to subsidize such Censorship is a particular disgrace.
Best keep quiet about it though, wouldn’t want to spread any “Ism-Obia” now, what with everything else going around and all

Google Comes Out of The Closet And Blasts California Marriage Amendment (www.LC.org)
Google's cofounder and President of Technology, Sergey Brin, posted a statement Friday on the company blog against Proposition 8, the proposed constitutional amendment that would protect marriage in California as the union of one man and one woman. It is unfortunate that Google is taking the side of those who try to undermine traditional marriage.

"It stood out like a diamond on a donkey's behind," said Frank Schubert, co-chairman of the campaign to pass Proposition 8, the constitutional amendment on the Nov. 4 ballot to ban same-sex marriages. The Newsom moment was like a gift from fundamentalist heaven.
"He just looked so smug and cocky," Schubert said.
Now Newsom is the star of a new 30-second spot by the Yes on 8 Protect Marriage Committee. It shows the mayor at a May 15 rally at City Hall trumpeting the state Supreme Court's decision to allow same-sex marriages.
"This door's wide open now. It's going to happen - whether you like it or not," a growling and grinning Newsom declares to cheers.

Sometimes, even our myopic media watchdogs catch on to their mistake of providing “Ungood” graphs to readers, and avoid publishing any that might highlight huge imbalances in Male / Female Death ratios (say in the Military, or as with Capital Punishment), particularly when they are already trying to spin the Sacrifice in a ‘Gender Neutral’ terms. For example, on 10/26/05 both the Knight Ridder group & Frisco Chronicle ran articles marking the “Unofficial Tally” of the “U.S. Military Death Toll” reaching the round number of 2000. Both papers supplied numerous graphs from the A.P Wirehead service showing breakdowns of Death by such categories as: Branch, Location, Month, Cause & Age, Ethnicity, Home State… of the Fallen.
In fact, the only Major Category for which No Graph Appears – is Gender. The Knight Ridder chain story (from L.A. Times: D. Smith & P.J. Huffstutter) actually does mention the Gender Death Ratio – In the Very Last Paragraph on an Inside (an old trick of Thought Policing) page: “A typical military mortality is an Army Enlisted Man (98% of the dead have been male) in his 20s…Whites, Blacks, Latinos and Asian Americans dying in numbers roughly proportionate to their share in the U.S. Population.”
The Frisco Crock-a-bull / Chronicle (M. Stannard) published many of the same A.P graphs in their cover story, but omitted any direct mention of the 98% vs. 2% Gender breakdown, although it did mention: “…the increased number of Women among the dead…” when compared to the Vietnam war.
While Omitting the Actual Numbers from Vietnam (@ 8000 Men Dead per Woman), the ‘Crock’ did offer a quote, from a ‘University Sociologist’ no less (D. Segal) that provided the proper gender neutral spin to the story of the Voteless 19 year old Male Conscripts who made up the Majority of ‘Casualties’ in Vietnam, by saying: “In the Draft, we had a revolving door of young people coming in and either getting killed or leaving."
Actually, it is rather kind of the Crock to allow Men Conscripted because of Gender to be referred to as Young People, especially when the Knight Ridder chain still refers to them as “Male Chauvinist Pigs”… Even if it does avoid mention of just which gender is still subject to conscription, and which gender still fills up the vast majority of body bags.
One reference to Gender of ‘Casualties’ I have found is a propaganda piece circulated by the media: Ellen Goodman - September 29, 2005 When War Brings Out Our Worst - In the Iraq War, women have been elevated to the superheroine status like Jessica Lynch and lowered to supervillain status like Lynndie England. But 40 women have been killed and 400 wounded... which of course fails to mention or compare Male Casualty numbers. Nor does it mention Pregnancy Evacuations, which many speculate about but not many in the media apparently…

Funny – Knight Ridder 'news' published a story on (1/9/06) by ‘reporter’ Drew Brown: Illness, injuries take most troops away from battle - which claimed to discuss the various forms of casualties evacuated from overseas, and even provided Graphs – to help the readers understand. Yet - Not a word about Pregnancy (despite estimates ranging from 500 – 5000+ per year) being used as a tool to escape duty in dangerous or not very fun areas, found anywhere in the article.
But then why would they mention it, they have to “Protect the Rights of Women, Soldiers and the Organization” too – and there is certainly no room or time for minor concerns like 98% Male Death rates, when such important ‘Womyn’s’ Gender Rights are on the front line.

New publisher named for East Bay Newspapers
The company that owns dozens of daily and weekly newspapers around the Bay Area, including The Montclarion, the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and San Jose Mercury News, announced a shakeup this week, replacing John Armstrong as president and publisher of Bay Area News Group-East Bay and folding local circulation and advertising operations under San Jose-based leadership.
Michael "Mac" Tully, president and publisher of the Mercury News and group vice president for Bay Area News Group, or BANG, made the announcement Tuesday before a crowded Contra Costa Times newsroom that, along with the other East Bay papers, has seen dozens of layoffs and employee buyouts this year as the newspaper industry flails under a limp economy and changing reader habits.

Lawmaker Accused of Fannie Mae Conflict of Interest
October 03, 2008 By Bill Sammon Fox News WASHINGTON —
Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.
So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.
Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.
Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain skeptical.
"It’s absolutely a conflict," said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute. "He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?
"If this had been his ex-wife and he was Republican, I would bet every penny I have - or at least what’s not in the stock market - that this would be considered germane," added Gainor, a T. Boone Pickens Fellow. "But everybody wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard."
A top GOP House aide agreed.
"C’mon, he writes housing and banking laws and his boyfriend is a top exec at a firm that stands to gain from those laws?" the aide told FOX News. "No media ever takes note?
Imagine what would happen if Frank’s political affiliation was R instead of D? Imagine what the media would say if [GOP former] Chairman [Mike] Oxley’s wife or [GOP presidential nominee John] McCain’s wife was a top exec at Fannie for a decade while they wrote the nation’s housing and banking laws."
Frank’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Frank met Moses in 1987, the same year he became the first openly gay member of Congress.
"I am the only member of the congressional gay spouse caucus," Moses wrote in the Washington Post in 1991. "On Capitol Hill, Barney always introduces me as his lover."
The two lived together in a Washington home until they broke up in 1998, a few months after Moses ended his seven-year tenure at Fannie Mae, where he was the assistant director of product initiatives. According to National Mortgage News, Moses "helped develop many of Fannie Mae’s affordable housing and home improvement lending programs."
Critics say such programs led to the mortgage meltdown that prompted last month’s government takeover of Fannie Mae and its financial cousin, Freddie Mac. The giant firms are blamed for spreading bad mortgages throughout the private financial sector.
Although Frank now blames Republicans for the failure of Fannie and Freddie, he spent years blocking GOP lawmakers from imposing tougher regulations on the mortgage giants. In 1991, the year Moses was hired by Fannie, the Boston Globe reported that Frank pushed the agency to loosen regulations on mortgages for two- and three-family homes, even though they were defaulting at twice and five times the rate of single homes, respectively.
Three years later, President Clinton’s Department of Housing and Urban Development tried to impose a new regulation on Fannie, but was thwarted by Frank. Clinton now blames such Democrats for planting the seeds of today’s economic crisis.
"I think the responsibility that the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was president, to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac," Clinton said recently.

Banned Books, Chapter 2 -Conservative Group Urges Libraries to Accept Collection

During a week that librarians nationwide are highlighting banned books, conservative Christian students and parents showcased their own collection outside a Fairfax County high school yesterday -- a collection they say was banned by the librarians themselves.
More than 40 students, many wearing black T-shirts stamped with the words "Closing Books Shuts Out Ideas," said they tried to donate more than 100 books about homosexuality to more than a dozen high school libraries in the past year. The initiative, organized by Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family, was intended to add a conservative Christian perspective to shelves that the students said are stocked with "pro-gay" books.
Most of the books were turned down after school librarians said they did not meet school system standards. Titles include "Marriage on Trial: The Case Against Same-Sex Marriage and Parenting" ...
Fairfax County's policy on library book selection says "the collection should support the diverse interests, needs and viewpoints of the school community." But library officials said donated and purchased books alike are evaluated by the same standards, including two positive reviews from professionally recognized journals. None of the donated titles met that standard, said Susan Thornily, coordinator of library information services for Fairfax schools... Books dealing with homosexuality are often lightning rods for debate at school libraries. The American Library Association, which "celebrates the freedom to read" during Banned Book Week every fall, lists three gay-
hemed books in its 2007 top 10 banned or challenged books.
The list was led by "And Tango Makes Three," a tale of two male penguins who become companions at the Central Park Zoo and try to hatch an egg-shaped rock together...
Organizers said the books would bring balance to the library, which has books supporting same-sex marriage or the idea that homosexuality is fixed at birth....
Other groups are launching similar campaigns to get books challenging homosexuality on library shelves. Virginia-based Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays maintains a list of titles and encourages its members to donate them to libraries.
And Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, described on its Web site as a "group dedicated to exposing the homosexual activist agenda," is poised to launch a Library Fairness Project.
Peter LaBarbera, president of the Naperville, Ill.-based group, said libraries already have scores of books with positive views of homosexuality. "That seems to be something that is going to be very difficult to change," he said. "Instead let's expand the selection to get both sides in the library."

They are now widely respected community figures here.
...Obama and Ayers moved in some of the same political and social circles in the leafy liberal en[bleep]e of Hyde Park, where they lived several blocks apart. In the mid-1990s, when Obama was running for the Illinois Senate, Ayers introduced Obama during a political event at his home, according to Obama’s aides.

N.Y. Times whitewashes Obama-Ayers connection Fails to report key associations, ignores incriminating documents given to paper Posted: October 04, 2008 By Aaron Klein © 2008 WorldNetDaily
JERUSALEM – A prominent article by the New York Times this weekend purporting to investigate the connections between Sen. Barack Obama and former Weathermen radical Bill Ayers omits key associations between the two and in some cases seems to minimize their relationship.
One law professor and blogger who was interviewed for the Times piece says he provided the newspaper with key documentation showing Ayers was directly involved in the formation of the board of an education organization on which Obama served as chairman.
But the Times did not present that information and instead made the claim Ayers was not involved in the selection of Obama as chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, or CAC, which was founded by Ayers.
The Times article was first released online under the title "Obama had met Ayers, but the two are not close." That title was soon changed to, "Obama and the '60's Bomber: A Look Into Crossed Paths."
The piece purports to present the scope of Obama's relationship with Ayers, an increasingly public point of contention during this campaign season, with Gov. Sarah Palin just yesterday highlighting the controversial relationship.
News reports, archived records, interviews and Ayers' own curriculum vitae document that Ayers was the founder of CAC, which bills itself as a school reform organization. Documentation shows Ayers led the application process to apply for the original grant that funded the CAC.
Ayers served as co-chairman of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, one of the two operational arms of the CAC, from its formation in 1995 until 2000. In 1995, Obama was appointed as the CAC's first chairman.
The Times, though, does not mention Ayers' role in founding the CAC, documented in several articles in 1994 and 1995 in the Chicago Tribune, which detail Ayers' extensive work to secure the original grant from a national education initiative by Ambassador Walter Annenberg, as well as Ayers' molding of the CAC guidelines.
Many argue it would have been unusual for Ayers not to have been involved in the selection of the chairman of the group he himself founded. The Times claims that "according to several people involved, Mr. Ayers played no role in Mr. Obama's appointment (to chair the CAC)."
The newspaper says Obama was suggested as a nominee to lead the CAC board by Deborah Leff, then president of the Joyce Foundation, a Chicago-based group whose board Obama, a young lawyer, had joined the previous year.
Reported the Times: "At a lunch with two other foundation heads, Patricia A. Graham of the Spencer Foundation and Adele Simmons of the MacArthur Foundation, Ms. Leff suggested that Mr. Obama would make a good board chairman, she said in an interview. Mr. Ayers was not present and had not suggested Mr. Obama, she said."
The Times did not quote either Leff or Graham as directly stating Ayers was not involved in the selection of Obama, just that Leff originally suggested Obama. The article then continued to other matters.
Steve Diamond, a political science and law professor and a blogger who has posted on Obama, said he was interviewed for the Times piece. He said he provided Times writer Scott Shane with documentation that proves Ayers was directly involved in forming the board and leadership of the CAC.
Among the documents is a letter from November 18, 1994 in which Vartan Gregorian, president of Brown University and a member of Annenberg's selection committee, asked Ayers to "compose the governing board and the Collaborative, to engage people who reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of Chicago."
A copy of the letter and Ayers' reply are available on Diamond's blog.
On December 1, 1994, Ayers and Anne Hallett, who co-chaired a CAC branch with Ayers, wrote back to Gregorian:
"Thank you for your letter of November 18, 1994. We are continuing to build a broad base of consensus and support for the main thrust of the proposal. ... We have given careful thought to the issues raised in your letter. We are working with Adele Simmons, Deborah Leff, and Pat Graham on issues of management and governance to ensure that Chicago's Annenberg Challenge initiative is successful.
"We offer the following responses: ... Board of Directors. A five-to-seven person Board of Directors of highly respected Chicagoans is being assembled. Pat Graham, president of the Spencer Foundation, has agreed to serve and is willing to work with the Board. The duties of the Board will be to approve grants, to help raising matching funds, and to hire the executive director. ... The Board and the Collaborative will reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of Chicago."
Diamond concluded that Ayers, who conceived and led the organization, submission and implementation of the CAC grant application, was viewed as responsible for composing the board on which Obama served.
But that information was not included in the Times piece, which bases its claim that Ayers was not involved in the appointment of Obama largely on Leff's statement that she first suggested Obama.
But documents from 1994 that Diamond said he provided to the Times indicate Leff viewed Ayers as in charge of the CAC:
Wrote Leff: "The Joyce Foundation strongly supports the proposal for the Annenberg Challenge Grant submitted from Chicago. At its meeting just two weeks ago, our Board of Directors approved a grant of $80,000 to Professor William Ayers at the University of Illinois at Chicago to establish the Chicago School Reform Collaborative – the working group that Ayers organized to develop and submit the CAC grant proposal and that would become an arm of the CAC once established in 1995."
Also missing from the Times is information, first exposed by WND, that Obama and Ayers used the CAC grant money to fund organizations run by radicals tied to Ayers, including Mike Klonsky, a former top communist activist who was a senior leader in the Students for a Democratic Society group, a major leftist student organization in the 1960s from which the Weathermen terror group later splintered.
National Review Online writer Stanley Kurtz pointed out the Times article also ignored individuals connected to Ayers and the CAC he said helped block his original attempts to obtain the CAC archives housed at the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago. It was Kurtz who found that along with Leff and Graham, Ayers was one of a working group of five who assembled the initial board of the CAC, which hired Obama.
The documents obtained by Kurtz showed Ayers served as an ex-officio member of the board that Obama chaired through the CAC's first year. Ayers also served on the board's governance committee with Obama, and worked with him to craft CAC bylaws, according to the documents.
Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Obama. Ayers also spoke for the Chicago School Reform Collaborative before Obama's board, while Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the collaborative, the CAC documents reviewed by Kurtz show.
The Times piece goes on to document what it titles "other connections" between Obama and Ayers.
It reported that in 1997, after Obama took office, the new state senator was asked what he was reading by The Chicago Tribune. He praised a book by Ayers, "A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court," which the Times noted Obama called "a searing and timely account of the juvenile court system."
The Times, though, did not report Ayer's book could easily be characterized as anti-American, comparing the U.S. to South African apartheid and dismissing the notion the U.S. is a just nation while questioning whether America should maintain a prison system.
The Times also reports that in 2001, Ayers donated $200 to Mr. Obama's re-election campaign.
It then recognized - as WND first exclusively reported - that Obama served on the board of the Wood's Fund, a liberal Chicago nonprofit, alongside Ayers.
But the newspaper got the dates wrong and here again seemed to minimize the pair's relationship, saying Obama and Ayers "overlapped on the seven-member board." It claimed the two served together on the Wood's Fund from 2000 to 2002, while the Fund's own website documents indicated Obama and Ayers served together beginning in 1999.
The Times ignored altogether that Obama and Ayers appeared together as speakers at several public events, including a 1997 University of Chicago panel entitled, "Should a child ever be called a 'super predator?'" and another panel for the University of Illinois in April 2002 entitled, "Intellectuals: Who Needs Them?"
The Times article seemed to go to great lengths to argue Ayers, once a domestic terrorist, is currently rehabilitated.
"In Chicago, Mr. Ayers has largely been rehabilitated," the Times article stated.
"Federal riot and bombing conspiracy charges against him were dropped in 1974 because of illegal wiretaps and other prosecutorial misconduct, and he was welcomed back after years in hiding by his large and prominent family," stated the article.
Toward the end of the piece, the article acknowledges it was the New York Times which on 9/11 profiled Ayers and quoted from his just-published memoir, "Fugitive Days," in which he write: "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."
Ayers posed for a photograph accompanying the 9/11 piece that shows him stepping on an American flag.
In response to controversy following the Times piece and the 9/11 attacks, the Times this weekend noted Ayers wrote on his blog in 2001 that his memoir "is from start to finish a condemnation of terrorism."
But unreported is that just last month, Ayers wrote on his blog he still feels not enough was done to oppose the Vietnam War, although he clarified, "I don't think violent resistance is necessarily the answer, but I do think opposition and refusal is imperative."

The mask is off. The pretense over. After decades of pretending they're not biased leftward – even though everyone else knew it – America's "mainstream media" have finally, during 2008, dropped the façade of fairness and impartiality.
# The big media openly worship Barack Obama. MSNBC's Chris Matthews, upon listening to Obama speak, says almost mystically, "I felt this thrill going up my leg." Rolling Stone magazine rhapsodizes, "There is a sense of dignity, even majesty, about him …
# For its October cover, The Atlantic magazine hires a photographer who intentionally photographs John McCain to look ugly and threatening. ("I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad," she later admits, adding, "maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for [the Atlantic] to hire me."
# The New York Times publishes Barack Obama's op-ed on Iraq policy, but refuses to run McCain's op-ed. At the same time, all three network's news anchors tag along with Obama like groupies on his overseas stump tour, while McCain receives scant media coverage.
# The pregnancy of Sarah Palin's teen daughter is national news, as is the presence in the Alaska governor's mansion of a tanning bed (which Palin paid for herself). But Obama being mentored and nurtured for years by terrorists (William Ayers), communists (Frank Marshall Davis) and America-hating racists (Rev. Jeremiah Wright), which helped shape him into the most left-wing, America-blaming, radically pro-abortion and tyrant-appeasing presidential candidate in U.S. history, is not news.
Yes, the media have long been biased to the left. But this year it's different. This year, the mask has come off and the real face of the mainstream media – or MSM as they're popularly called – has been revealed for all to see. And it ain't pretty.
Documenting this stunning transformation of the American news media – and pointing to amazingly positive changes now occurring in the evolution of the free press – is the October edition of WND's elite monthly Whistleblower magazine, titled "THE YEAR THE MEDIA DIED."

The good news, says Whistleblower, is that while the Old Media are rapidly waning (the New York Times Company is worth only half of what it was a year ago), the New Media – talk radio, Internet news, bloggers, cable news (well, some cable news) and more – are growing exponentially in readership and influence.

The Times/BANG/Medianews message boards are certainly a 'funny' place to post - what with the regular trashing of the readers by the Thought Police acting as 'watchdogs' for the Old Media.
Not only does messing with the board fonts and spacing make it more difficult for the General Lurking Public to follow any debate, but it also discourages writers from posting anything longer than a sentence...

Alameda Co. Supervisor Haggerty Trashes Men - Old Media Ignores Misandry, so what else is new?
The following announcement from Weimar Kalifornia's Radical Gender Feminist Power Structure speaks for itself - Except for the part about Men being Denied Equal Representation or Voice in the decisions of the State, which is probably a bit too Ungood for inclusion...
Anywayyy - I actually personally attended the "Appointments Training" session in the bulletin, on September 17, 2008 in Dublin. There were about two dozen Womyn and two other Males there, one was Alameda County Board of Supervisors President Scott Haggerty (a big time Democrap Machine Politician) and the other was a police officer - called in no doubt to keep an eye on the only obvious non feminist in the audience - Yours Truly. Such is the paranoia of the Twysted Systerhood... And such their myopia too - for it was my use of my voice that did their nefarious plans awry, and not the 'brutishness' of my manly physique.
Long Story Short: This was a Radical Feminist Insider love fest where Womyn were targeted with training tips on how to move up the political ladder, by others who had done so. Supervisor Haggerty was the only male on the panel and when discussing commissions proudly highlighted his own appointments to the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Womyn. Then Supervisor Haggerty Said: "I would Never Appoint a Man to the Status of Womyn Commission; that would Not be the right thing to do."
Which was an excellent intro for My follow-up Question to him, in which I reminded him of a Letter I had Written Supervisor Haggerty almost a decade ago when he was recruiting for the Commission for Womyn. I did not ask to be named to that commission, but rather asked for Equal Treatment for Men in creation of a similar body on behalf of the Despised and Disposable Male Minority.
Supervisor Haggerty not only admitted that he remembered the letter, but that he (and other County Supervisors) had also dismissed the very notion of Equal Treatment for Men as Inappropriate.
I suppose it would have ended there, but the eternal politician Haggerty just had to try and make a joke out of Anti Male Discrimination, and quipped that perhaps he should appoint me to the Commission for Womyn...
Which I found mildly amusing, right up until I tool a look around at the faces of the Twysted Systerhood assembled in the room...

It is unfortunate that the 2008 presidential candidates and their friends in the media have said very little about military/social issues that will be decided by the next Commander in Chief.
The presidential and vice presidential debates are now over, but not a single question was asked on matters such as gays in the military, women in land combat, or whether young women should be required to register with Selective Service.
That is disappointing, but these issues are not going away. The Center for Military Readiness is an independent, non-partisan public policy organization. We do not endorse candidates, but we do write about military personnel issues of importance to our men and women in the military.
In recent weeks I have written several articles on these issues, and will continue to do so before and after the election on November 4. I thought you might be interested in these four articles, which I wrote for National Review Online’s “The Tank” section so far this month:

Old Media Bias so pervades even their pathetic attempts to cope with the challenges of the internet, that their Will to Censor often outstrips the ability to follow through, no matter how badly they want to suppress Ungood Ideas from reaching the 'Vanilla' (clueless voters / readers) before the election. It is particularly prevalent when it comes to the Old Media agenda of MISANDRY (Hatred of Men, Masculinity and Normal Heterosexuality), and the banning of language used to accurately describe the phenomenon.
The latest Censorship Scam at the Times is to Ban / 'Bleep' Certain Words and Terms that are considered Ungood by the self anointed Thought Police of our bought and paid for 'free press', and the hyper militant radicals (aka the 'Resident Harpies" of the Net) who constantly mau mau them to enforce mandatory pandering on all readers. Like George Orwell mapped out in his book 1984, if the language to even think of opposition is eliminated, then Big Twysted Syster can eliminate all dissent, by eliminating the very concept.
While the number words the Times Censors have now made to 'disappear' is as yet uncertain (we find new limits on free speech / thought every day now) there are a number of handy examples to illustrate the pogrom. One newly censored Idea is a short hand contraction for 'Feminist / Nazi' (or F.e.m.i-nazi / [bleep]), which is a widely recognized Term of Art for Hyper Militant Misandrists - such as the self avowed Separatist / Neo-Exterminationist Dykes who stage the Annual Frisco Dyke March / Anti Male Hate Riot... Which in itself is a subject Completely Censored by the Times / BANG / MediaNews / Singleton syndicate.
Indeed, the Old Media will run color pictures of "Dykes on Bikes" and happy face stories about the Sunday 'pride' parade - and Completely Censor any information about the gridlock created when the Same Dykes take over the streets on Saturday Night (without permit or payment of fees) and BAN MEN from the Public Street - as part of their goal of bringing about a "World Devoid of Men." Same Dykes, Same Bikes, but a different story when the Old Media 'Watchdogs' want to Spin it to keep Ungood Facts from publication in the suburbs.
Even More Bizarre is how the Censors Here have now banned the Term "H.O.M.O." - as it is 'bleeped' whenever it appears in a story, regardless of how used or construed. For Example: Homo-sex vs H.O.mo-sex / homosexual vs. H.O.mo-sexual... And Here is How it Plays Out:
The San Francisco Chronicle (part of the incestuous leftist Old Media) recently ran a blurb in its 'Matier & Ross' Column (10/6/08) about one of the more notorious Coprophile Party Animals in Sodom by the Sea, a major flaming figure in the cities sodomite select named 'Stanlee Gatti.' I recall him well, and not just for his intimate relations with the First Marriage of Mayor Gravid Nuisance, but also because I used to work in the catering field and his reputation for Romanesque / Calligulan Buggery Bashes was well documented in the party notes from the managers (often female) forced to witness such depravity.
Anywayyyy... The same story printed in the Chronicle can not be quoted on the Times Boards, although the Times also uses the term itself (like they do 'F.A.G.' / [bleep]) when they feel it helps make a political point. Here is the Chronicle Blurb, and for those still curious the Censored term is that of "H.O.M.O.-Land Security", even though it originates from a prominent H.O.mo-sex Activist like Catty Gatti:

News Media At A Loss For Words (www.protectmarriage.com)

Honestly, the news media is at a bit of a loss. It’s hard to write bad news about something that is so clearly a big success. Several reporters were so skeptical that a “million lawn sign grassroots effort” would really materialize. We could easily have used two million! So many supporters are calling in trying to get more signs, more bumper stickers, more wave signs, that the campaign is hustling to meet demand.
In the Latino community, ad campaigns are sweeping through on the big networks and throughout television stations statewide. Radio campaigns will also be heard, with well-respected Latino figures standing up for the sacred tradition of marriage. Religious leaders will be heard from as well.
In the African American community, there are scores of pastors who are deeply committed to this cause. Their sermons are devoted to igniting their members. They are proud to stand with religious people from all corners of the state to protect marriage. You will be seeing many of them soon, making public their deeply-held convictions.
In the Asian community as well, there are great members of your community who are placing their own ads and reaching out to many cultures to alert them to vote.
I have enjoyed doing interviews with college editors from California universities across the state. A lot of younger adults aren’t in tune with the “price” of gay marriage….just the love angle. Once they realize the real consequences of Prop 8…..they seem to give it real thought.
The big city media outlets, for the most part, are opposing Prop 8. Often it seems their decisions are made even before reviewing the facts. This past week’s “photograph of the month,” in the San Francisco Chronicle, featuring 18 little 1st graders perplexed and dropped on the steps of San Francisco’s City Hall…was one for the ages. Mayor Gavin Newsome made it perfectly clear for parents throughout the state that the target is not just marriage for gay activists, they have also set their sites on our schools.
This brings me to recount something that happened a day or so after that no infamous 1st grade field trip. After spending the day answering media inquiries (about every 3 minutes), I took a stray call from a father, a fireman, of a beloved gay son in Greater Los Angeles. He just wanted to talk to ANYone who would listen on the campaign. He disliked our ads, but also disliked the extremists on the NO side of Prop 8. He just wished people would understand that there are many good people in California who don’t have all the answers, but are trying to love and accept their children and have Thanksgivings that are a little different than they ever expected.
As we defend the traditions of marriage, and especially the critical rights of our children, it helps to remember that there are families and good people on both sides of this passionate debate.
Those of us involved in the backrooms of the campaign feel your support, we see the work of your bare hands as we drive to and from interviews and press conferences. We are inspired by the great Latino community where so many are beginning to make their OWN signs because they can’t wait to take to the street corners and wave. We say thank you to the good people from Carson, from Los Angeles, from SAN CLEMENTE even, who drove all the way to downtown Los Angeles just to take an important seat at a hearing on Prop 8.
This is a campaign of the people, by the people, and of the people. We don’t call the media when we need help….we call our good neighbors. Because we know they will show up. And a dozen years from now when our kids or our grandkids ask us where we were when marriage was on the ballot in California……all of us, all the millions of you, will be able to say, “I was there. And I did it for you.”

These were some of the questions addressed by panelists at a Time Warner media summit here this week — "Politics 2008: The Media Conference for the Election of the President." The answer may be right under their noses. Sarah Palin.
Love her or hate her, Palin has done for media ratings what she did for the Republican base. Her debate with Joe Biden was the most-watched cable TV show for viewers ages 18 to 34, according to Jonathan Klein, president of CNN/U.S.
Obama has had a similar effect.
Jim VandeHei, executive editor of Politico, reported that traffic on politico.com is "exponentially higher" for Palin- and Obama-related stories.
Whereas the mainstream media (MSM) are widely viewed as being pro-Obama, the same MSM are viewed as being hostile toward Palin. It is possible to be critical of Palin's lack of qualifications and experience without conveying contempt, but that hasn't always been the case. Early attacks on Palin
To those folks, it is laughable when the media ask themselves, "Are we too elitist?" The answer seems to be implicit in the question.
As a self-described spy for Bubba who moves between home in the rural South and inside the Washington Beltway, I get more than an off-the-bus glimpse of the Palin phenomenon. Inside the Beltway, I've often felt like Jane Goodall, summoned from the hinterlands to explain the behaviors of the indigenous peoples.
We're not talking disconnect, but worlds apart.
Back home at my local grocery checkout counter, most of the other folks in line don't know or care how Tina Fey totally owns Sarah Palin. They only know that their food costs too much and gas prices are making the trip to work prohibitive.
So how do the media win back the trust and respect of this segment of the population? Klein said media folk need to get out of their bubble and find out what people think. Indeed.
After George Bush won re-election in 2004, few were more baffled than the media. In the South and flyover country, almost no one was surprised. How does that work?
To remedy the gap between the two Americans, pundits came up with some novel ideas. One Los Angeles Times writer suggested an exchange program through which families in red and blue America could swap children for a while.
The gap has only grown wider in the years since as an ever-expanding new media permits people to ratify their own worldview without straying far afield or tapping into a well of shared information.
The result is greater partisan division, greater allegiance to bullet-point thinking, less mutual understanding. As panelist Peggy Noonan commented, "You lose something in the nation when you're cut into as many small pieces as America is. There's no boring old central reality that we can all argue over."
That is surely true. But there is a boring old central reality that characterizes the lives of the many Americans who are not perpetually plugged in. Their narrative may lack a dramatic arc, but their story is familiar and deserves respect. It's called paying the bills, getting the kids schooled and fed, and trying to keep a rapacious culture at bay.
These are the folks who have found light in Sarah Palin and who have been a major part of the Palin frenzy. They will vote the McCain ticket regardless of whether Palin can rattle off Supreme Court cases with which she disagrees.
They recognize themselves in her. To them, her lack of polish and knowledge feels like an absence of slickness and glibness.
McCain's hunch that Palin would catapult him into the White House ultimately may prove wrong, but the Palin phenomenon and the mainstream media problem are of a piece. Therein lies the answer to the media's self-inquiry.
Contempt for one's audience is not a sure way to its heart. Palin's people feel that contempt and they have identified its source as the enemy.

Proving once again that with our Old Media - What is Censored is often far more important than what is included, the 'profile' did mention Biden (#2, and also in line to be Commander in Chief) graduating from Law School and going in to Private Civilian Practice - But OMITTED HIS RECORD OF DRAFT DODGING - INCLUDING CLAIMING HE WAS UNFIT TO SERVE AS A MILITARY ATTORNEY.

A Military Times poll indicates landslide support for John McCain, who captures 68 percent of the military vote to Barack Obama's 23 percent. Tuesday, October 21, 2008
A poll by the Military Times newspaper group suggests that there is overwhelming support for John McCain among U.S. troops in every branch of the armed forces by a nearly 3-1 margin.
According to the poll, 68 percent of active-duty and retired servicemen and women support McCain, while 23 percent support Barack Obama. The numbers are nearly identical among officers and enlisted troops.
The Military Times, which publishes the Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times, polled 80,000 subscribers from Sept 22 to Sept. 29. The non-scientific survey gathered 4,300 respondents -- all of them registered and eligible to vote.
A racial divide was immediately evident among the respondents. Nearly eight in 10 black servicemembers chose Obama, while McCain captured 76 percent of white voters and 63 percent of Hispanic voters.
Numbers among men and women respondents were also visibly different. Men overwhelmingly said they would vote for McCain, 70 percent to 22 percent. But among women the margin was much closer: 53 percent support McCain, while 36 percent support Obama.
U.S. troops also said in the poll that they prefer McCain to handle the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- 74 percent said McCain would perform better, while just 19 percent said Obama would.
Four years ago the Iraq War was the single most important issue on which the military voted. But the war now ranks third in importance to these voters. The most important issue among the respondents was character (42 percent), followed by the economy (25 percent) and the Iraq War (16 percent).
There was a racial divide on these issues, as well. Black servicemembers said the economy was the No. 1 issue that affected their vote, and white troops said character was paramount.
The Military Times offered certain caveats for its poll, which was open only to its 80,000 subscribers. Responses were entirely voluntary and were not focused on a representative sample of the public, as scientific polls are. The troops polled were also somewhat older than average enlisted servicemembers and included more officers than is representative of the military as a whole.
Yet judging by the numbers, it appears that the Democratic party has not made many inroads into the traditionally Republican military.

Coverage of McCain Much More Negative Than That of Obama

Media coverage of John McCain has been heavily unfavorable since the political conventions, more than three times as negative as the portrayal of Barack Obama, a new study says.
Fifty-seven percent of the print and broadcast stories about the Republican nominee were decidedly negative, the Project for Excellence in Journalism says in a report out today, while 14 percent were positive. The McCain campaign has repeatedly complained that the mainstream media are biased toward the senator from Illinois... the imbalance is striking nonetheless.
...But McCain's running mate remains a media magnet, drawing three times as much coverage as the Democrats' VP nominee, Joe Biden. He was "nearly the invisible man," the group says, and his coverage was far more negative than Palin's. That may be because Biden tends to make news primarily when he commits gaffes...
Obama's coverage since the conventions represents a fall to earth from the early primaries of 2008, when the project found that, horse-race stories aside, positive narratives about Obama were twice as frequent as negative ones, 69 percent to 31 percent.

California supporters of Proposition 8 are taking issue with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).
Proposition 8 is designed to overturn the state Supreme Court decision legalizing homosexual "marriage." Brad Dacus of Pacific Justice Institute tells OneNewsNow why many voters are upset with the utility.
"Pacific Gas & Electric shocked and stunned many of its customers and shareholders when it decided to give $250,000 dollars -- a quarter of a million dollars -- specifically to oppose Proposition 8, which is a pro-marriage amendment to recognize marriage between one man and one woman," he explains.
American Family Association, a pro-family group based in Mississippi, sent its California subscribers an e-mail on the subject and, so far, 4,500 PG&E customers have cancelled service. Dacus expects that number to be 10,000 to 20,000 by Election Day. "People need to understand that there's [sic] two ways they can vote on this issue," he contends. "One is by going to the polls and voting for Prop. 8. The other is by choosing to switch from PG&E to an alternative natural gas provider -- and I think that in the long run, the latter can be just as important."

Our “Watchdogs” in the press have spent a lot of time lately dissecting the media equivalent of flea census reports and presenting it as breaking news to the masses, not that this isn’t important info to anyone considering ‘lying with dogs’ (talking to a reporter), on the record or off. However, the distraction is really more a part of a somewhat successful attempt to divert attention from ‘Ungood’ stories and subjects that said masses are better off remaining ignorant about, at least in the opinion of said media watchdogs and their editorial boards if not said masses of ‘clients / readers’ themselves.
A recent CC Times story [“Police Prepare for Anarchists on the march” by D. Stober and A. Tong; KR 6/22/5] illustrates this process quite wonderfully, and when juxtaposed against the media’s treatment of the scheduled Illegal Government Sponsored Anti Male Hate Riot known as the Frisco Dyke March, provides insights that Ought to be Ignored, lest the specter of “Ism-Obia” be loosed upon the land, only different. The article warns locals that some several hundred “Anarchists” (Def: those who dress in black and hang around a plaza) will be marching in Palo Alto on Saturday night, and police are worried after a few books were overturned in last years quasi-fracas. The quote that most sums up the story is from 17 year old ‘Anarchist’ Megan Haigh, who is not only expecting a lot of police but is also “a little afraid of horses.”
Just how Megan feels about close encounters with enraged bulls on revved up hogs was not reported, but then the CC Times seems content so far (with the rest of the media) to ignore the scheduled Dyke March – Despite its Stated Intent to Again Kick All Men out of the Public Road. One would think that there might be some sort of courtesy warning issued to the unwary out of town visitor thinking it was OK for him (just like in Free parts of the country) to ‘innocently’ stroll about the city with a penis. The simple truth is that if such a male tourist is found in possession of such an instrument of rape and oppression in a public park or street during the Dyke Riot, the odds of a happy outcome depend largely on ones point of view, or proper gender as the case may be.
For those who prefer their irony pre-soaked in the tax trough, consider that the City of San Francisco hasn’t posted any Traffic Advisories for the 2005 Government Sponsored Hate Riot (yet), although I do have a copy of the ‘Advisory’ from last year which I didn’t find until after the Hate Riot, and which disappeared shortly after I copied it. Likewise, a search of the SFGov archives reveals only the one mention of the Dyke March, from the minutes from the last years entertainment commission discussing the illegal nature of stage put up with some of the tax dollars that funded the Hate Riot:

A media analyst says because the mainstream news media fears that Sarah Palin is not in her last national political race, they have been on a mission to attack and discredit the Republican vice-presidential nominee.
A recent study by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism shows Governor Palin has drawn three times as much coverage as Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden since the political conventions. It also concludes that 39 percent of the print and broadcast stories about Palin were negative, while 28 percent were positive and 33 percent were neutral.
Tim Graham, director of media analysis at the Media Research Center, says there are two main reasons why the Alaska governor receives not only more coverage, but also more hostile coverage than Senator Biden.
"They're familiar with Joe Biden. He's run for president several times. They all know him. He's been in Washington for a long time, and they agree with his point of view on the issues. That makes him non-controversial. That makes him really old news to a certain extent," he contends. "[But] Sarah Palin's a brand new story. Even people who support her are not that familiar with her, and she represents to the news media a dangerously ultra-conservative [and] inexperienced person."
The only positive news story about Palin in the mainstream media since the Republican Convention, according to Graham, focused on how her eyeglasses have become a popular new fad.

its possession that reportedly shows Barack Obama toasting
Rashid Khalidi-a mouthpiece for the Palestine Liberation

In the toast, Obama is said to speak of his long friendship
with Khalidi. One speaker evidently compares Israeli "Zionists"
to Osama Bin Laden.
Voters deserve to confirm or deny this report with their
own eyes! Only then can they decide what to believe about

There are many unanswered questions presented by this video.

Is there a media bias against media bias? Lets put it another way, is it possible that even when a member of the media elite admits to media bias that others in the media refuse to even talk about it? That question was raised recently by John Fund in his story in Political Diary.
Two weeks ago there was a major conference in New York sponsored by TIME magazine and CNN. One of the speakers was Mark Halperin, an editor-at-large for TIME and co-author of the campaign field guide, "The Way to Win." During his panel discussion, Mr. Halperin was asked if the media has been too soft on Senator Barack Obama. To the surprise of his mostly liberal audience, his answer was yes.
He went on to explain that the media helped Senator Obama in many ways through the stories they chose to cover and the way they covered them. He concluded that the national media handed Senator Obama "hundreds of millions in free publicity."
He attributed some of the bias to the historic nature of the Senator Obama's candidacy. But he also attributed it to political bias. He noted that only a few hands went up when earlier the audience was asked how many voted for George W. Bush.
He also noted that John McCain had been the beneficiary of positive media coverage in his 2000 campaign. He also concluded: "It is interesting that the media's favorite candidates in both parties both won their party's nominations this year."
So how much coverage did Mr. Halperin's comments get from the reporters and bloggers who were present? According to John Fund, there was essentially a media blackout of Mr. Halperin's poignant and controversial comments.
So I return to my original question. Is there a media bias against media bias? It seems that even when someone in the media elite admits to the fact that political coverage of a campaign has been biased, other biased reporters refuse to report it.

Network news paying price for liberal bias

Media analyst Robert Knight believes the consistent drop in viewership of the mainstream media news programs shows that Americans are on to the media's liberal bias, most notably their glowing coverage of Democrat Barack Obama's presidential run.
A study by Nielsen Media Research shows that the Big Three network news programs experienced a sharp drop in viewers last week during the height of the presidential campaign. CBS Evening News with Katie Couric lost a half-million viewers, as did World News with Charlie Gibson on ABC. Ratings leader NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams dropped from 8.2 million viewers to 7.8 million.
Robert Knight is director of the Culture and Media Institute (CMI), a division of the Media Research Center. He believes the ratings decline indicates that Americans have a healthy skepticism of the three evening news shows.
"The fact that this is happening at a time of year when a lot of people are glued to the screen -- right before an election -- shows that there is a systemic problem with the network news. People don't believe it any more. They're tuning out by the millions,"
Knight explains. "This continues a trend we've seen over the last couple decades, but it's experienced a real uptick lately. Katie Couric in particular is down below figures Dan Rather descended to after he misplayed his accusation of President Bush and his National Guard records."
If the news media are unwilling to be fair and objective, Knight says they deserve to lose viewers. He notes distrust of the mainstream media has been a strong sentiment on display at several John McCain-Sarah Palin rallies.

The Disgusting Heavy Handed Political Bias of our Bought and Paid for 'free press' is highlighted in the manner in which almost all stories are slanted in the most biased manner possible in favor of the Old Media's preferred Candidates and Issues. Not content with endorsements on the Editorial Page and Harangues by Columnists, even such 'news' that is not actually Censored - is spun in to Political Propaganda of the Vilest Sort.
Consider the latest clumsy political endorsement inserted in to a story ostensibly about "Veteran's Day Events" - by such a sly 'reporter / editor' that many probably absorbed the Political Message (just three days before the election) without noticing they had been force fed it.
In a piece published by the (CC Times / BANG / MediaNews / Singleton Syndicate propaganda organization) reporter Cameron Sullivan interviews a 'Veteran' (without mention of his Political Affiliation / Party / Endorsements) who is quoted as saying: "The only reason I joined the VFW was because I met Jerry McNerney," said Evans of his 2006 chance encounter with McNerney, a Democrat from the 11th District, who at the time was running for his freshman Congressional term. "
Gosh - Golly Campers - Free Publicity - Aimed at a target audience of Veterans (known as voters) Just Before the Election, Without mention of why this source (and Not a Supporter of His Opponent - many of whom are Also Vets) is the one quoted!

Comical Media Bias
Not content with filling the 'news' with their Political Propaganda - our Bought and Paid for 'free press' at the (Times / BANG / MediaNews / Singleton Syndicate) has again Loaded the Comics with Political Harangues.
Going even further over the top than usual (which is pretty far) the Race Baiting Hate Monger who produces the "Candorville" comic has simply provided a panel showing a Black Voter Voting for the Obamacon... Nothing at all devious about it, simply heads on in your face Race Hate Propanda.
Doonsbury is bashing both McCain and Bush again - but that has been an Old Media "funny page' staple through out the election, and the report is that the Obamacon victory strip is already written - with the headline: "Dewey Wins"... Ahem.
Even Wiley is in the act - although tangentally, with a Pre-Announced Victory for its own character...
And the Old Media 'watchdogs' - also printed their own Recommendations, Again, just in case anybody forgot how biased they are, which with one execption means Voting the Straight Democrap Ticket all the way.

Crouching Fascism, Hidden Media

According to a conservative media watchdog, the mainstream media is completely ignoring a wave of quasi-fascism that has descended upon California and several other states by radical homosexual activists who don't respect the will of the people.
Brian Fitzpatrick, senior editor at the Culture and Media Institute, recently wrote a column called "Crouching Fascism, Hidden Media." He says on November 4, a majority of voters in liberal California approved Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment declaring that only marriages between a man and a woman are valid in the state. But he points out that militant homosexuals have not respected that decision and have vandalized property, threatened people, and mailed white powder to Mormon churches. Fitzpatrick calls that "fascism."
"Fascism rejects democratic values. We see outright rejection of democracy in California. We see people trying to turn to the courts," he explains. "We see people trying to victimize or punish people who voted against them -- and this is not the American way. It's a very frightening cultural development."
The national media, Fitzpatrick adds, has been AWOL concerning these incidents. "All we've seen is continued coverage of this issue as a civil rights battle or this issue as a blow against homosexuals and homosexual couples. We see emotional pitches," he says. "We see no serious analysis of the significance of homosexual or same-sex marriage, whether it's good or bad for society."
Fitzpatrick, whose columns appear regularly at OneNewsNow, believes America has not yet seen political violence of the kind that led to takeovers of Germany and Italy by fascist elements before World War II. He contends if media outlets do not investigate these current incidents, expose the perpetrators, and pressure the government to press charges, only greater political violence can be anticipated -- even eventually against the media themselves.

Voters not fooled by media bias - Zoghby says

A media analyst says a new study shows that even though mainstream network news anchors and reporters pretend to maintain objectivity, most Americans know they are blatantly biased.
A Zogby poll commissioned by the Independent Film Channel finds that 38 percent of Americans surveyed consider the Internet the most reliable source of news. Twenty percent consider national television news most reliable, and only 16 percent say radio is the most reliable source.
Seton Motley, a spokesman for the Media Research Center, says the survey findings can be attributed to the overwhelming bias displayed by the traditional media in its coverage of the presidential campaign.
"I think it reflects the results of this terrible work the media did over the last two years in their efforts to elect Barack Obama," he contends. "There was a Pew poll in October that said by an eight-to-one margin the American people thought the media was actively working to elect Barack Obama. And when it gets to that kind of a ratio by October, it doesn't surprise you to see a people like this with these kinds of numbers."
The Zogby poll also found that 73 percent believe the news they read and see is biased.

Turning the Bible on its Head -- Newsweek Goes for Gay Marriage
December 08, 2008 (AFA) - Newsweek magazine, one of the most influential news magazines in America, has decided to come out for same-sex marriage in a big way, and to do so by means of a biblical and theological argument. In its cover story for this week, "The Religious Case for Gay Marriage," Newsweek religion editor Lisa Miller offers a revisionist argument for the acceptance of same-sex marriage. It is fair to say that Newsweek has gone for broke on this question.
Miller begins with a lengthy dismissal of the Bible's relevance to the question of marriage in the first place. "Let's try for a minute to take the religious conservatives at their word and define marriage as the Bible does," Miller suggests. If so, she argues that readers will find a confusion of polygamy, strange marital practices, and worse.
She concludes: "Would any contemporary heterosexual married couple—who likely woke up on their wedding day harboring some optimistic and newfangled ideas about gender equality and romantic love—turn to the Bible as a how-to script?" She answers, "Of course not, yet the religious opponents of gay marriage would have it be so."
Now, wait just a minute. Miller's broadside attack on the biblical teachings on marriage goes to the heart of what will appear as her argument for same-sex marriage. She argues that, in the Old Testament, "examples of what social conservatives call 'the traditional family' are scarcely to be found." This is true, of course, if what you mean by 'traditional family' is the picture of America in the 1950s. The Old Testament notion of the family starts with the idea that the family is the carrier of covenant promises, and this family is defined, from the onset, as a transgenerational extended family of kin and kindred.
But, at the center of this extended family stands the institution of marriage as the most basic human model of covenantal love and commitment. And this notion of marriage, deeply rooted in its procreative purpose, is unambiguously heterosexual.
As for the New Testament, "Ozzie and Harriet are nowhere" to be found. Miller argues that both Jesus and Paul were unmarried (emphatically true) and that Jesus "preached a radical kind of family, a caring community of believers, whose bond in God superseded all blood ties." Jesus clearly did call for a commitment to the Gospel and to discipleship that transcended family commitments. Given the Jewish emphasis on family loyalty and commitment, this did represent a decisive break.
But Miller also claims that "while the Bible and Jesus say many important things about love and family, neither explicitly defines marriage as between one man and one woman." This is just patently untrue. Genesis 2:24-25 certainly reveals marriage to be, by the Creator's intention, a union of one man and one woman. To offer just one example from the teaching of Jesus, Matthew 19:1-8 makes absolutely no sense unless marriage "between one man and one woman" is understood as normative.
As for Paul, he did indeed instruct the Corinthians that the unmarried state was advantageous for the spread of the Gospel. His concern in 1 Corinthians 7 is not to elevate singleness as a lifestyle, but to encourage as many as are able to give themselves totally to an unencumbered Gospel ministry. But, in Corinth and throughout the New Testament church, the vast majority of Christians were married. Paul will himself assume this when he writes the "household codes" included in other New Testament letters.
The real issue is not marriage, Miller suggests, but opposition to homosexuality. Surprisingly, Miller argues that this prejudice against same-sex relations is really about opposition to sex between men. She cites the Anchor Bible Dictionary as stating that "nowhere in the Bible do its authors refer to sex between women." She would have done better to look to the Bible itself, where in Romans 1:26-27 Paul writes: "For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."
Again, this passage makes absolutely no sense unless it refers very straightforwardly to same-sex relations among both men and women -- with the women mentioned first.
Miller dismisses the Levitical condemnations of homosexuality as useless because "our modern understanding of the world has surpassed its prescriptions." But she saves her most creative dismissal for the Apostle Paul. Paul, she concedes, "was tough on homosexuality." Nevertheless, she takes encouragement from the fact that "progressive scholars" have found a way to re-interpret the Pauline passages to refer only to homosexual violence and promiscuity.
In this light she cites author Neil Elliott and his book, The Arrogance of Nations. Elliott, like other "progressive scholars," suggests that the modern notion of sexual orientation is simply missing from the biblical worldview, and thus the biblical authors are not really talking about what we know as homosexuality at all. "Paul is not talking about what we call homosexuality at all," as Miller quotes Elliott.
Of course, no honest reader of the biblical text will share this simplistic and backward conclusion. Furthermore, to accept this argument is to assume that the Christian church has misunderstood the Bible from its very birth -- and that we are now dependent upon contemporary "progressive scholars" to tell us what Christians throughout the centuries have missed.
Tellingly, Miller herself seems to lose confidence in this line of argument, explaining that "Paul argued more strenuously against divorce—and at least half of the Christians in America disregard that teaching." In other words, when the argument is failing, change the subject and just declare victory. "Religious objections to gay marriage are rooted not in the Bible at all, then, but in custom and tradition," Miller simply asserts -- apparently asking her readers to forget everything they have just read.
Miller picks her sources carefully. She cites Neil Elliott but never balances his argument with credible arguments from another scholar, such as Robert Gagnon of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary [See his response to Elliott here]. Her scholarly sources are chosen so that they all offer an uncorrected affirmation of her argument. The deck is decisively stacked.
She then moves to the claim that sexual orientation is "exactly the same thing" as skin color when it comes to discrimination. As recent events have suggested, this claim is not seen as credible by many who have suffered discrimination on the basis of skin color.
As always, the bottom line is biblical authority. Lisa Miller does not mince words. "Biblical literalists will disagree," she allows, "but the Bible is a living document, powerful for more than 2,000 years because its truths speak to us even as we change through history." This argument means, of course, that we get to decide which truths are and are not binding on us as "we change through history."
"A mature view of scriptural authority requires us, as we have in the past, to move beyond literalism," she asserts. "The Bible was written for a world so unlike our own, it's impossible to apply its rules, at face value, to ours."
All this comes together when Miller writes, "We cannot look to the Bible as a marriage manual, but we can read it for universal truths as we struggle toward a more just future." At this point the authority of the Bible is reduced to whatever "universal truths" we can distill from its (supposed) horrifyingly backward and oppressive texts.
Even as she attempts to make her "religious case" for gay marriage, Miller has to acknowledge that "very few Jewish or Christian denominations do officially endorse gay marriage, even in the states where it is legal." Her argument now grinds to a conclusion with her hope that this will change. But -- and this is a crucial point -- if her argument had adequate traction, she wouldn't have to make it. It is not a thin extreme of fundamentalist Christians who stand opposed to same-sex marriage -- it is the vast majority of Christian churches and denominations worldwide.
Disappointingly, Newsweek editor Jon Meacham offers an editorial note that broadens Newsweek's responsibility for this atrocity of an article and reveals even more of the agenda: "No matter what one thinks about gay rights—for, against or somewhere in between —this conservative resort to biblical authority is the worst kind of fundamentalism," Meacham writes. "Given the history of the making of the Scriptures and the millennia of critical attention scholars and others have given to the stories and injunctions that come to us in the Hebrew Bible and the Christian New Testament, to argue that something is so because it is in the Bible is more than intellectually bankrupt—it is unserious, and unworthy of the great Judeo-Christian tradition."
Well, that statement sets the issue clearly before us. He insists that "to argue that something is so because it is in the Bible is more than intellectually bankrupt." No serious student of the Bible can deny the challenge of responsible biblical interpretation, but the purpose of legitimate biblical interpretation is to determine, as faithfully as possible, what the Bible actually teaches -- and then to accept, teach, apply, and obey.
The national news media are collectively embarrassed by the passage of Proposition 8 in California. Gay rights activists are publicly calling on the mainstream media to offer support for gay marriage, arguing that the media let them down in November. It appears that Newsweek intends to do its part to press for same-sex marriage. Many observers believe that the main obstacle to this agenda is a resolute opposition grounded in Christian conviction. Newsweek clearly intends to reduce that opposition.
Newsweek could have offered its readers a careful and balanced review of the crucial issues related to this question. It chose another path -- and published this cover story. The magazine's readers and this controversial issue deserved better.

A conservative media analyst says a Newsweek cover story suggesting that the Bible condones same-sex "marriage" is evidence the publication is a "fully owned subsidiary of the gay rights movement."
The article by Newsweek's religion editor Lisa Miller contends that "Scripture gives us no good reason why gays and lesbians should not be [civilly and religiously] married -- and a number of excellent reasons why they should." The story declares that "religious objections to gay marriage are not rooted in the Bible at all...but in custom and tradition."
Bob Knight, director of the Culture and Media Institute, believes there is ample evidence of media bias on the marriage issue, but calls this example one of the worst he has seen. Knight says Newsweek published a "cartoon version of Scripture that is a gay activist's dream."
Robert Knight"It would be one thing if people promoting the homosexual agenda just said, 'Look, the Bible says it's wrong. We don't buy into the Bible's authority, and so we don't agree with you.' But to try to take the Bible and make it say something it flat-out does not say is journalistic malpractice," he argues.

Memo to Newsweek: Give the Real Bible Equal Time

Newsweek magazine effectively declared war on marriage this week, running a long essay on "The Religious Case for Gay Marriage" as their cover story. In the wake of the victory of California's marriage amendment (Proposition 8) on Election Day, homosexual marriage advocates are realize that their opponents are not going to fade away or compromise their convictions. Not content any longer to make a "separation of church and state" argument for same-sex "marriage," they are instead mounting a direct attack on Christian opposition to homosexual conduct and to same-sex "marriage" on biblical grounds.
There was little that was original about the essay. It strung together a lot of talking points that have wafted about the homosexual movement for years. What was astonishing was that the author (Newsweek's religion editor Lisa Miller) not only tried to explain away the Bible's condemnation of homosexual conduct, but actually claimed that "Scripture gives us no good reason why gays and lesbians should not be (civilly and religiously) married-and a number of excellent reasons why they should."
The article included blatant factual errors, such as the claim that Jesus never "explicitly defines marriage as between one man and one woman" (see, e.g., Mark 10:6-8-"But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh."), and the claim that "nowhere in the Bible do its authors refer to sex between women" (see Romans 1:26). It also had logical contradictions, arguing for the Bible's support of "gay marriage" while simultaneously dismissing the Bible as supportive of slavery and anti-Semitism.
If homosexual activists want to simply ignore the Bible, they are free to do so. If they are going to blatantly distort its teachings, Newsweek should not help them do so.
We urge you to email Newsweek today and demand that the magazine print an accurate article presenting the Bible's true teaching about homosexual conduct and same-sex "marriage"-one equal in length to the Miller piece (which was over 2,700 words) and also run as the cover story.

The most unnerving aspects about the Democrats' sweeping victory Nov. 4 are their intolerance for dissent and their willingness to censor and otherwise suppress their opponents. Consider:
We keep hearing that Sarah Palin's criticism of Obama for "palling around with terrorists" increased death threats against him, which is bogus in the extreme but consistent with the inveterate liberal tactic of chilling conservative speech by saying it incites violence.
Ohio state employee Vanessa Niekamp said she was ordered to run a child-support check on Joe the Plumber, the man who asked Barack Obama an innocuous question about redistributing taxpayer income. Niekamp doesn't remember ever having checked into anyone else without having a legitimate reason to do so, such as discovering that someone recently came into money.
Democratic prosecutors in St. Louis threatened criminal prosecution against candidate Obama's critics. In Pennsylvania, lawyers for Obama wrote intimidating letters to TV and radio stations that aired unflattering ads documenting Obama's anti-gun record. The Obama campaign complained to the Department of Justice about the American Issues Project's ad tying Obama to William Ayers. Obama supporters flooded Chicago radio station WGN with harassing calls during its interviews of conservative writers investigating Obama.
On election night, Philadelphia police arrested a man who dared to wear a McCain-Palin '08 T-shirt at an Obama celebration rally. What's scarier is that the Obama crowd reportedly chanted with joy as cops arrested the man for exercising his freedom of political expression. According to the liberal worldview, arresting someone for disagreeing with you is not censorship, but implying someone is not patriotic is.
Obama has made no secret of his plan to pass "card-check" legislation, which some have described as the most radical revision of labor law since 1935. It would permit unions to eliminate secret ballots -- against the wishes of 78 percent of union members -- which would represent a radical blow to democratic principles.
Democrats fully intend to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine, a euphemistically named regulation aimed at shutting down conservative talk radio, which Sen. Chuck Schumer has compared to pornography. Remember that conservatives have never advocated government action to suppress or censor the liberal media monopoly, which has existed for decades and still dominates mainstream media today. Their answer was the alternative media.
But what is even more frightening than the sinister schemes of liberal politicians to silence and criminalize political opposition is the apparent eagerness of rank-and-file liberals to go along with them, as witnessed by the many examples I've cited and numerous gleeful e-mails I get taunting me about the imminent re-invocation of the Fairness Doctrine.
I believe this arrogant attitude can largely be traced to the top-down indoctrination in our schools, cultural institutions and media that liberalism is morally superior because it is tolerant, diverse, intellectual and enlightened. This view holds that conservative expression doesn't deserve constitutional protection because it is inherently evil. As one liberal academic administrator said in justifying his Draconian action in suppressing a Christian viewpoint, "We cannot tolerate the intolerable."
This self-blinding, superior mindset explains how liberals can accuse conservatives of racism for their legitimate political differences with Barack Obama while demeaning, with racist epithets, Condoleezza Rice or Clarence Thomas. It's how they can mock conservatives for being close-minded while unilaterally declaring the end to the debate on global warming because of a mythical consensus they have decreed.
It's how they can demand every vote count and exclude military ballots.
It's how they can glamorize Jimmy Carter for gallivanting to foreign countries to supervise "fair elections" and pooh-pooh ACORN's serial voter fraud in their own country. It's how they can threaten the tax-exempt status of evangelical churches for preaching on values, even when the churches don't endorse candidates, but fully support a liberal church's direct electioneering for specific candidates.
It's how they can ludicrously depict President Bush as a dictator while romanticizing brute thug tyrants Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. It's how they can falsely accuse President Bush of targeting innocent civilians in Iraq when he does everything possible to avoid civilian casualties but demand our withdrawal from South Vietnam, which resulted in the massacre of millions of innocents. It's how they can advocate the banning of DDT in the name of environmental progress but be unconcerned about the untold malaria deaths that resulted.
It's how they can oppose the death penalty for the guilty but protect the death penalty for the innocent unborn. It's how they can prevent the teaching of "intelligent design" in schools in the name of science but defend the many documented myths of biological evolution in public-school textbooks, also in the name of science.
If you believe the left is tolerant, open-minded and democratic, you're in for a rude awakening.

Networks promote Prop. 8 protesters

Network coverage of the victory of California's Proposition 8 has focused principally on the supposed denial of rights to homosexuals, rather than the public affirmation that marriage is between a man and a woman.
...California voters upheld traditional marriage by approving Prop. 8, the ballot measure that overturned a state Supreme Court decision granting same-sex couples the right to marry. Though the victory of a socially conservative ballot initiative in a very liberal state, in a very liberal year, is a major story, the networks have preferred to focus on the homosexuals protesting the will of the people.
The networks covered Prop. 8 heavily between Nov. 5 and Nov. 9, the five days after Election Day. In a total of 13 network news stories, only four supporters of traditional marriage appeared on air, compared to 15 opponents. Only one story, a package aired on ABC's Nov. 9 Good Morning America, noted that Proposition 8 passed by a half-million votes.

MSNBC's Matthews wins blunder award

MSNBC's Chris Matthews has won the "Quote of the Year" award from a conservative media watchdog organization.
The Media Research Center (MRC) recently released its report on "The Best Notable Quotables of 2008: The 21st Annual Awards for the Year's Worst Reporting." Chris Matthews won the dubious honor of Quote of the Year for gushing over an Obama speech back in February during an exchange with colleague Keith Olbermann.
Matthews: "The feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama’s speech. My -- I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often.”
Olbermann: "Steady."
Matthews: "No, seriously. It’s a dramatic event. He speaks about America in a way that has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the feeling we have about our country. And that is an objective assessment.”
Tim GrahamTim Graham, director of media analysis at the MRC, says Matthews' quote defined the media bias in 2008. "Chris Matthews was just a little more out there, a little more expressive than the average journalist," he contends. "But these journalists were bringing their children to Obama rallies. They were expressing to each other that they had trouble remaining objective because he was so fantastic -- and that's the kind of year it was."
He credits the media for Obama's election to the office of president of the United States.
In the days immediately following the election, Matthews stated it was his job as a journalist to "make...this new presidency work." (See related story)

SEX, LIES, AND RAPE - How to Recognize False Allegations of Rape

Sexual assaults occur in the military as well as the civilian world. There is nothing in civilian society, however, which duplicates the incomprehensible reaction of military officials who lose all perspective when dealing with this problem. Unnamed complainants are labeled “victims” even before legal proceedings determine that a crime has been committed. Publicly named men accused of misconduct are treated as “innocent until accused,” and are rarely given the benefit of the doubt.
Victimology vs. Justice
It is a primary tenet of “feminist jurisprudence” that women never lie when complaining of sexual abuse. This delusion is as ludicrous as the notion that all women think alike.
Any man who states the obvious, however, puts his career at risk. Even liberal Law Professor Alan Dershowitz was accused of sexual harassment just for discussing in class the possibility of false rape allegations. In 1993 Dershowitz told author David Horowitz that he began videotaping classroom lectures on the subject for his own protection, and that other experts in the field stopped teaching rape law rather than take the risk. 1
According to a report of the Defense Department Inspector General released in 2005, approximately 73% of women and 72% of men at the military service academies believe that false accusations of sexual assault are a problem. But military officials keep pretending that the problem does not exist.
Untruths Without Consequences
Linda Fairstein, a former head of the sex-crimes unit of the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, has criticized the doctrinaire belief that women never lie. Writing in Cosmopolitan magazine, Fairstein quoted FBI statistics on unfounded claims of forcible rape. These reports, she wrote, occur at rates as high as 9%, compared to between 1.5% and 5% of reports submitted in all other criminal categories. She continued,
“Having worked in this field for decades, I’ve found this phenomenon especially painful to witness. Innocent men are arrested and even imprisoned as a result of bogus claims, and the precious resources of criminal justice agencies are wasted….[T]hese falsehoods trivialize the experience of every rape survivor.” 2
A June 3, 2004, Washington Post article titled “Sexual Assaults in Army on Rise” reported the results of a five year study of reports of abuse. The number of “unfounded” cases tripled from 48 to 157 between 1999 and 2003. An Army spokeswoman could not explain why. It is time to find out.
Every allegation is different, and appearances often deceive. Certain indicators should be investigated in order to separate truthful allegations from fabricated ones. Primary motives for false reports, which are not uncommon, include a) Jealousy or Revenge; b) Need for an Alibi; and c) Emotional Problems/Desire for Attention. None of these should be a surprise.
a) Jealousy or Revenge
The phrase “woman scorned” is more than a stereotype. Linda Fairstein described several cases in which women “cried rape” in order to have revenge on former lovers. One involved a secretary who accused her boss of assaulting her after hours. The tearful woman seemed very credible—at first—but the man told Fairstein an entirely different story.
His admitted affair with the accuser was documented with a paper trail of travel receipts over a period of two years. The alleged rape occurred on the night that he refused her demand to divorce his wife. When Fairstein confronted the accuser, she admitted to being so upset with her former lover that she wanted to make sure he lost both his job and his marriage.
Accusations motivated by revenge are not uncommon. In a study done in a small Midwestern city over a period of nine years, Eugene J. Kanin, Ph.D. found that 27% of recanted allegations (12 of 45) were filed for purposes of revenge—usually after a real or perceived love affair ended. 3 Dr. Kanin added that because the suspect is always identified to authorities, revenge cases present the highest risk of a miscarriage of justice.
An average of 41% of accusers over nine years (45 of 109) recanted allegations of rape, even when facing possible penalties for filing false police reports. These recantations did not follow prolonged periods of investigation or interrogations that victim advocates frequently describe as “second assaults.” 4
Seeking more information on the phenomenon, Dr. Kanin studied rape reports at two Midwestern universities over the course of three years. Counting only those allegations that were officially recanted by accusers, the study found a false allegation rate of 50%. The police agency involved, headed by a female investigator, found that in this group revenge was the motive for 44% of the recanted rape allegations. 5
b) Need for an Alibi
Sex crime investigator Fairstein compared alibi allegations to Pinocchio’s nose—a white lie that grows and grows. She described, for example, a young woman who had traveled with a group and spent the night with a co-worker after drinking with him in the bar. She was not in her room to receive calls from her boyfriend, who instigated a search. This “victim” tearfully accused her co-worker of raping and restraining her in his room. The man was taken into custody, but a paper trail of receipts contradicted the woman’s story. The accuser recanted, and investigators recommended psychiatric help for her.
In the military, one of the most egregious alibi allegations occurred in the aftermath of the Navy’s infamous 1991 Tailhook scandal in Las Vegas. Ensign Elizabeth Warnick, known as “Belly Button Beth” because she allowed drunken aviators to drink tequila from her navel, accused two of her colleagues of gang-rape. Her accusations devastated the careers of the men, but Warnick admitted later that she had lied to mislead her boyfriend about her own behavior at Tailhook.
The Navy’s failure to prosecute Warnick for her blatantly false allegation against male officers was an early example of “Double Standards Involving Women,” a phenomenon CMR identifies as DSIW. Policies based on DSIW hurt women by creating resentment and distrust. Women in the military are not responsible for DSIW, but they frequently get the blame.
c) Emotional Problems/Desire for Attention
The May 2005 saga of “Runaway Bride” Jennifer Wilbanks, who fled her own lavish wedding and concocted a kidnapping story to explain her disappearance, demonstrates a syndrome psychologists call pseudologia phantastica. 6 The disorder, which is not limited to women or rape charges alone, requires identification and treatment, not unquestioning belief.
MSNBC commentator Tucker Carlson faced this problem in 2001. A woman he had never met claimed that he had drugged her at a Kentucky restaurant and sexually assaulted her with violence. Many sleepless nights and $14,000 in legal fees later, the accuser dropped the charges. Carlson survived, but the lives of many men falsely accused never are the same. 7
The military is not exempt from this unusual but disturbing behavior. At a recent Article 32 hearing to determine the need to court-martial Spec. Cooper Jackson, civilian Ashley Elrod testified that she made up a story about being raped by a Marine, Cpl. Justin Huff. Elrod told the lie to Spec. Jackson, who is accused of kidnapping and murdering Cpl. Huff, the alleged rapist. Spec. Jackson allegedly cut Cpl. Huff’s throat and set him on fire. Under oath Ashley Elrod admitted making phone calls in which she lied to military men since she was 15 years old. “I have low self-esteem,” she said. “I need someone to talk to.” (Navy Times, June 26)
False rape accusations also have been filed to extort money from celebrities, to gain sole custody of children in divorce cases, and even to escape military deployments to war zones. All of these possibilities and more must be objectively considered by investigators, without interference from victim advocates who wrongly insist that women can do no wrong.
Objective Investigation of the Crime of Rape
Rape investigations are inherently difficult. Sex crimes usually occur in private, with few witnesses. Alcohol dulls memories, and “he said, she said” stories are frequently inconsistent. At the military service academies, personal conduct rules that do not apply in the civilian world create a perverse incentive for alibi reports.
These factors can be mitigated when authorities apply the same investigative techniques that they do in other criminal cases. Visible clues and patterns of behavior help to distinguish truthful allegations from those that are false.
Charles P. McDowell, Ph.D., of the U.S. Air Force Special Studies Division, has incurred the wrath of victim advocates by spotlighting the reality of false accusations. Writing in a publication of the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, McDowell notes that:
“The ambiguity of many rape allegations is a genuine test of an investigator’s ability; an inherent conflict arises between the investigator’s obligation to accept the victim’s complaint as legitimate and his obligation to remain open to the possibility that there may be a ‘hidden agenda.’ ” 8
McDowell recognizes that an investigator’s questions can make a victim of assault feel wronged again. This is especially so when investigators who have been misled in the past betray suspicion when inquiring about sensitive, personal matters.
The only way to minimize that problem is to understand the dynamics of false rape allegations and, in the process, learn the hallmarks of truthful accusations. This effort is essential not only for women’s sake, but to avoid grievous injustice to men who may be severely punished for crimes they did not commit.
Trained investigators recognize “shorthand” cues that are not infallible, but are useful in assessing the validity of complaints. They also recognize that self-esteem is a central feature of human personality. Some people who fail to live up to their own standards try to protect their self-image by denying wrongful acts or offering excuses. McDowell analyzes how some accusers use false accusations as defense mechanisms to protect self-esteem:
“They do so by selectively ‘forgetting’ what happened, denying responsibility, projecting blame to someone (or something) else, overcompensating, or by seeking escape in a world of fantasy….When a person falsely claims to be the victim of a crime, an alternative reality is created. The focal point of that alternative reality becomes the crime itself, reducing the role of the “victim” to passive non-culpability.” (pp. 59-60)
Validating Accusations
McDowell’s article cites findings from a 1983 study of 556 rape investigations in which 27% were found to be false. Noting certain characteristics that set the two groups apart, McDowell explained factors that are sometimes but not always present when questionable allegations are made:
• Many people have no understanding of what real victimization actually entails. ”Their imperfect understanding of rape is often transparent, raising the suspicion of investigators who are sensitive to allegations that are either atypical or unrealistic.” (p. 61)
• Some individuals try to restore self-esteem and evade responsibility for their own behavior by fabricating claims of being “lost, intoxicated, frightened, confused, or otherwise incapable of preventing their victimizations.” These stories are frequently rewarded with the “protected status” of “victim,” which enlists the support of friends and sympathetic advocates. (p. 61)
• Medical literature acknowledges that some patients make apparently credible but false complaints of physical ailments. False reports of rape, however, are sometimes bolstered by bizarre scenarios or self-inflicted injuries. Law enforcement people accustomed to seeing injuries are usually credulous, but they can recognize questionable characteristics. Self-inflicted wounds, for example, usually avoid sensitive areas or permanent disfigurement of the body. (62-63, 67)
• Seventy-five percent of confirmed rape victims in the study said they knew the assailant. About half of the false claims involved a non-existent stranger, with another third involving slight acquaintances. The essentially anonymous rapist effectively absolves the complainant of responsibility and affirms her innocence. An unsolvable case also shifts responsibility to the alleged offender and ultimately to the police.
• Genuine rape victims invariably are able to provide detailed descriptions of the rape. Women making false allegations typically are not clear in their descriptions. Some claim that they were unconscious or had their eyes closed. Others provide exquisitely detailed accounts, described with pleasure. Investigators must be cautious, but extreme under- or over-reporting can be suspicious, especially if stories change.
McDowell acknowledges that investigators’ questions might upset women who have been sexually assaulted. In a discussion of ways to maintain rapport with women making questionable allegations of rape, he recommends that investigators closest to the complainant remain supportive, professional, understanding and non-judgmental. If unresolved conflicts emerge, they should be raised by a supervisor who assumes and recognizes the complainant’s desire to be a responsible person.
Some accusers are relieved when disparities discredit their story because it is exhausting to maintain a lie. Others react with outrage because they need to believe what they have claimed, and fear losing control. In all cases, investigators should work with families to provide emotional support
McDowell also notes that even those who are emotionally prone to make false allegations can, indeed, be true victims of rape. All the more reason to maintain professionalism, objectivity, and compassion when investigating sexual misconduct and rape. (pp. 71-73)
Rape by Accusation
Author Warren Farrell, a former board member of the National Organization for Women (NOW) in the 1970s, made an interesting personal transition from male feminist to an advocate of equality that does not discriminate against men. In his 1993 book The Myth of Male Power, Farrell examined the McDowell study and other available reports. “False accusations are not a rarity,” he wrote, “they are themselves a form of rape, and a political hot potato. It will doubtless take a female politician of enormous integrity to confront the issue.”
The armed forces need to find out why indicators of false accusations are so persistent. Extreme feelings of guilt because some military women have been abused are no excuse for denying reality. The first step in solving a problem is to first admit that the problem exists.

Soldiers say they'd leave military if 'gay' ban lifted

A conservative military watchdog is very concerned about a recent survey of military personnel that indicates a significant number of service members might leave the all-volunteer force if the ban on open homosexuals in the military is lifted.
The annual survey was conducted by the Military Times, which once again asked active duty personnel if they oppose the effort led by Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher (D-California) to repeal the 1993 law -- Section 654, Title 10 -- which clearly states that open homosexuals are not allowed in the military.
Approximately 58 percent of the respondents indicated that they were in favor of continuing the ban. But Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, is more astonished at the response to a question that had never been asked on that survey before.
"In essence, what would you do if the law is repealed?" she relates that question. "The Military Times found that 10 percent of respondents said they would leave the military, and an additional 14 percent said they would consider ending their careers," she points out. "Now, even if half of those numbers turned out to be an accurate prediction, that would be devastating to our volunteer force. It would pretty much destroy the military as we know it."
Elaine DonnellyShe believes those who might consider leaving have legitimate concerns if the law is repealed. "The new policy would be forced co-habitation with homosexuals 24-7 in all military communities," Donnelly adds. "Corollary programs to make the program work would include professional diversity training to enforce acceptance and zero tolerance of anyone who disagrees."
Donnelly expects Tauscher to reintroduce the repeal legislation within the next several weeks.

Change: In the Air-but Not on It (www.frc.org)
Trying to hedge off an inevitable attack on free speech, Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) introduced the Broadcaster Freedom Act at a press conference today on Capitol Hill. While liberals try to resurrect the 1949 Fairness Doctrine that was repealed in 1985, this bill would prevent the FCC from reinstating it.
As you may remember, the Doctrine didn't promote fairness but the suppression of the First Amendment.
If Congress revives it, for-profit broadcasters would be forced to give liberals equal air time to counter conservative messages on the air waves. The policy would essentially kill talk radio because broadcasters would have to subsidize liberal programming that does not attract listeners and therefore advertising revenue. Most liberals believe that government controls are needed to restore "balance" to the airwaves.
But in reality, conservatives are the balance, since most of the cable and network news hosts are nothing but mouthpieces for the political Left.
We applaud Pence, Walden, and DeMint for their work to protect the airwaves from government control and pledge to join them in this fight.

Media bias apparent on inaugural prayers

A media analyst says the big three broadcast news outlets -- ABC, CBS, and NBC -- have deemed Barack Obama's selection of California evangelical pastor Rick Warren to give the invocation at Tuesday's Presidential Inauguration far more controversial than his choice of openly homosexual Episcopal bishop V. Gene Robinson to pray at a separate inaugural event.
Colleen Raezler at the Culture and Media Institute believes the networks are giving Warren the "controversial" label simply because he supports traditional marriage and spoke out in favor of Proposition 8, a ballot initiative that banned same-sex "marriage" in California.
But she notes that ever since Robinson was chosen by Obama to pray at an official inaugural ceremony on Sunday, the networks have been silent about the large rift that the New Hampshire bishop has caused in the Anglican Communion with his ordination and his homosexual activism from the pulpit.
Colleen Raezler"It's a clear indication of what the media is trying to do, and what we believe the media is trying to do is promote the idea that everybody is okay with this bishop getting up and speaking as a Christian," she contends. "Yet he's not speaking about God. He's not speaking from a biblical standpoint, so that's where the real controversy should be."
Raezler argues that since Robinson has said he will not use the Bible as a basis for his inaugural prayer and he will not pray to God, the question the networks should be asking the bishop is: "Who are you praying to then?"

Silence 'deafening' over murder by homosexual

A pro-family activist is questioning why there is no outrage over the murder of a college student by a homosexual.
On November 21, William Smithson, 43, of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to life in prison for the September 2006 strangulation murder of 23-year-old Jason Shephard. Smithson, a homosexual, murdered Shephard after slipping him GHB, a date rape drug, then hid the body in the basement of his home.
Diane Gramley, president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania, says it is ironic that homosexuals used the murder ten years ago of Matthew Shepherd to push for hate crimes laws -- yet remain largely silent about the murder of Jason Shephard.
"[It's] a true double standard, because Jason Shephard's murder has been under the radar screen -- and basically, unless you're in Pennsylvania monitoring this kind of stuff, you don't hear about it," says Gramley. "But Matthew Shepherd? Everyone in the country knows who Matthew Shepherd is."
Gramley points out homosexual activists claim Matthew Shepherd was targeted because he was homosexual. But ABC News later revealed that Matthew Shepherd was the victim of a botched robbery -- a finding the media has largely ignored.
The Pennsylvania activist wonders where the outrage is from homosexuals over the 2006 murder. In a press release, she describes the silence from that community as "deafening."
"The murders of both Matthew Shepherd and Jason Shephard were tragic, but one murder is being used by homosexual activists to push their agenda of special rights," she states. "Murder is murder and increased penalties for attacking a specially protected group listed in a hate crimes law is a waste of everyone's time and resources. Such a law creates unequal protection under the law."
She cites two other murders committed by homosexual men that met with relative silence in the homosexual community -- the murder of 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising in Arkansas in 1999, and the 2002 murder of Mary Stachowicz in Chicago.

Where, Oh Where are the stern denunciations by the self avowed 'Watchdogs' of our bought and paid for 'free press' - when the Swastika Symbol of Hatred is Spray Painted (along with other Hate Slogans) on a Church in that Bastion of Tolerance formerly known as the City of Saint Francis - and now more widely recognized as Sodom by the Sea???
Well, the answer is, turning their myopic blind ole media eyes in any direction but there, in the service of 'tolerance' of course. After all, it is simply not possible to remain an activist cheerleader on behalf of promoting Mandatory Pandering to the Sick Misandrist Hatreds and Vile Coprophile Perversions of the Radical Leftist / Gender Feminist / Homosex movement - and Still Report about the Hate Crimes they are targeting at their opponents (defined as anyone who gets in the way of their Thought Policing Pogroms) in a true orgy of Misandry.
One gets the distinct impression that if there were a less appropriate target than a Catholic Church for such Swastika Spray Paint Vandalism - say a Synagogue or Homosex Activist Center, that our 'watchdogs' might be a little more attentive...
But then perhaps only if the Political Value in Mau Mauing the 'Vanilla' (clueless voters / readers) in to doing as they are told - outweighed any Un-Good publicity regarding the perpetrators.
Best keep quiet about it regardless - wouldn't want to spread any "Ism-Obia" now would we, at least not until after the spray paint dries.

GAYS VANDALIZE SAN FRANCISCO CHURCH

Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, in the heart of San Francisco’s gay Castro community, was vandalized over the weekend by opponents of Proposition 8, the California resolution passed by voters in November that rejected gay marriage.
Swastikas were painted on the church and the names Ratzinger (referring to Pope Benedict XVI) and Niederauer (the San Francisco Archbishop) were scrawled besides the Nazi symbol.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue is asking Catholics nationwide to respond to this incident:
“In the wake of Proposition 8, innocent persons have been assaulted, churches have been vandalized, a white substance resembling anthrax was sent to the Knights of Columbus and to Mormon temples, supporters of traditional marriage have been branded Nazis, African Americans have been called the ‘N-word,’ houses and cars have been trashed, etc. Unfortunately, most of those in the gay community have been silent about these acts.
“Part of the blame for the latest attack goes to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Both Newsom and the Board have shown nothing but contempt for the First Amendment rights of Catholics.
When crucifixes are sold as sex toys and Catholic sensibilities are assaulted by naked men in the street at the annual Folsom Street Fair, they say nothing. When gay men dressed as nuns show up at Mass—at the same church—they say nothing. But the Board was quite vocal about condemning the Catholic Church in 2006, something which led to a lawsuit triggered by the Catholic League and the Thomas More Law Center.
“For those who love to write about ‘root causes,’ let them ponder the guilt of these public officials. Moreover, leaders in the gay community show no leadership when it comes to denouncing incivility committed in the name of gay rights. This has got to end.”

Well, the high-sheen veneer and cult-of-personality euphoria surrounding America's new oratory endowed president looks to be dissolving rather quickly. While millions had hoped for a political "messiah," it's fast becoming evident that, instead, we've stuck ourselves with an extreme leftist ideologue whose brand of "change we can believe in" is, in fact, "change we never imagined." (Sorry to burst the Barack bandwagon bubble, but I say it like I see it.)
The examples are piling up in terms of the radical pro-abortion polices he's planning to implement, the many-times-failed Marxist fiscal policies he's promised to test yet again, and – relative to his national security goals – the noxiously naive peacenik policies that have Mahmoud and Osama giggling themselves to sleep at night.
But on issues involving marriage, family and sexual morality, Obama's been even more brazen than some of his most ardent detractors could have expected. (See related article) Literally within minutes after he took the oath of office, the official White House webpage was updated – under the heading of "The Agenda: Civil Rights" – to detail his wholesale "support for the LGBT (homosexual activist) community." His stated plans include the following:

Defeating all state and federal constitutional efforts to defend the millennia-old definition of natural marriage from attacks by "gay marriage" activists.

Repealing the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1996. This is the only line of defense keeping all 50 states from being forced to recognize so-called "same-sex marriages" from extremely liberal states like Massachusetts and Connecticut.
*
Repealing the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy despite the fact that the vast majority of military commanders and personnel say it will dangerously disrupt unit cohesion and troop morale.
*
Passing constitutionally dubious and discriminatory "hate crimes" legislation, granting homosexuals and cross-dressers exclusive rights – denied other Americans – based on sexual behaviors that are deviant, changeable, and widely regarded both here and around the world as immoral.
*
Passing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) which would force business owners (religious and otherwise) to abandon traditional values relative to sexual morality under penalty of law.
*
Creating intentionally motherless and fatherless homes and sexually confusing untold thousands of children by expanding "gay adoption."
The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated. Right out of the chute, Obama has told the world that he is signing off, without exception, on every demand of the extremist homosexual and transsexual lobbies.
homosexual flagThe radical homosexual agenda and religious/free-speech liberties cannot occupy the same space. It's a zero-sum game. When 1-2 percent of the population is granted exclusive rights based on the aforementioned deviant sexual proclivities and changeable sexual behaviors – to the detriment of everyone else – that's called tyranny of the minority.
Obama recently said, "I don't want to pit Red America against Blue America. I want to be President of the United States of America." Well, Mr. President, remember that whole actions versus words cliché? Your words ring hollow and your actions speak volumes. Every policy you promise to implement does exactly what you've denounced. Both your actions and your words very much pit Red America against Blue America.
For all the talk of "hope," "change," and "coming together," it's becoming abundantly clear that Barack Obama's administration will be the most leftist, divisive and discriminatory in recent memory. I suspect the immediate, stark and in-your-face revisions he's made to the White House website are a metaphor for what we can expect, in terms of broader policy, from his administration.
Obama said in an August 19, 2008 speech: "Change doesn't come from Washington. Change comes to Washington." Well, radical change in the form of Barack Obama has certainly come to Washington. Not just in terms of the man's skin color – which is historic and most encouraging – but in terms of his exceptionally extreme and demonstrably dangerous liberal policies (not so encouraging).
So it would seem that change does in fact "come from Washington." Change more radical than our nation has ever seen. Change our founders could have never imagined.
People of faith, conservatives, and those of you with traditional values: hold on to your hats – it's going to be a bumpy four years.

Old Media Writes Very Small...

In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better.
When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity.
To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed.
A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.

Fairness Doctrine' - a misnomer that may become law

A Republican senator is co-sponsoring a bill aimed at preventing reinstatement of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" -- and a prominent member of the National Religious Broadcasters hopes the senator is successful.
Mississippi's Roger Wicker serves on the Senate Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over telecommunications. He is co-sponsoring the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009, a measure designed to prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, which he believes is the opposite of fair.
"The Fairness Doctrine is a misnomer. It is anything but fair," Wicker contends. "And when it was allowed to go out of existence, then talk radio actually flourished and we had much more of an opportunity for all viewpoints to be taught on the air."
Roger WickerWicker contends the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009 is important because of the probability of an FCC packed with Obama appointees. "You give president-elect Obama a few months or a few years in office, and pretty soon he will have appointed a majority of the Federal Communications Commission," he says. "And my fear is that Commission could reimpose the Fairness Doctrine without ever having a vote in the United States House or Senate."
The Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009 (S. 34) was introduced by Republican Senators Jim DeMint (South Carolina) and John Thune (South Dakota). The bill is a companion to House legislation (H.R. 226) introduced by Republicans Mike Pence (Indiana) and Greg Walden (Oregon).
In agreement with Wicker, a well-known Christian broadcaster says if the Fairness Doctrine is resurrected, it would have a chilling effect on free speech. Recently, the National Religious Broadcasters said it supported bills to block reimposition of the doctrine and was prepared to go to court if necessary.
Rich Bott, vice president of the Bott Radio Network, believes the Fairness Doctrine would be harmful to Christian broadcasters because, in a nutshell, it would require broadcasters to air both sides of controversial issues.

We want the other side presented as well.' If you say that marriage is between a man and a woman, these days people are going to say, 'I've got another opinion about that,'" he points out. The true objective of the Fairness Doctrine, according to Bott, is to squelch any sort of discussion on controversial issues.

Will the 'O's' be Missing from White House Computers?

Karl Rove was asked on Fox and Friends this morning about his memories of his first day at work in the Bush White House. He described finding some unidentifiable foul-smelling goop all over his compuer keyboard. He then walked down the hall to find another staffer’s office with the desk literally turned upside-down, papers everywhere, looking like a hurricane had blown through. And then there was the case of the missing “W’s” from the computer keyboards.
It’s amazing how quickly that was all forgotten, and how little the media made of it. Looking back for articles about it, there weren’t many. Part of the reason may be that, according to Rove on Fox and Friends today, and press reports quoting Ari Fleischer at the time, the Bush White House decided not to play it up, and certainly not to seek prosecutions for the destruction of government property.
But at the request of Bob Barr, the General Accounting Office looked into the reports and found that the Clinton team did about $15,000 in damage before vacating the White House. The GAO concluded that “damage, theft, vandalism, and pranks did occur in the White House during the 2001 presidential transition.”
Somehow I doubt the Obama team has anything to worry about along those lines.

Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?

An open letter to the local daily paper -- almost every local daily paper in America:
I remember reading All the President's Men and thinking: That's journalism. You do what it takes to get the truth and you lay it before the public, because the public has a right to know.
This housing crisis didn't come out of nowhere. It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.
It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans.
What is a risky loan? It's a loan that the recipient is likely not to be able to repay.
The goal of this rule change was to help the poor -- which especially would help members of minority groups. But how does it help these people to give them a loan that they can't repay? They get into a house, yes, but when they can't make the payments, they lose the house -- along with their credit rating.
They end up worse off than before.
This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it. One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules. The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.
Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. (Though why quasi-federal agencies were allowed to do so baffles me. It's as if the Pentagon were allowed to contribute to the political campaigns of Congressmen who support increasing their budget.)
Isn't there a story here? Doesn't journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout? Aren't you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefitting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?
I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal. "Housing-gate," no doubt. Or "Fannie-gate."
Instead, it was Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed.
As Thomas Sowell points out in a TownHall.com essay entitled Do Facts Matter? "Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush's Secretary of the Treasury."
These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ... the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was ... the Republican Party.
Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!
What? It's not the liar, but the victims of the lie who are to blame?
Now let's follow the money ... right to the presidential candidate who is the number-two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.
And after Franklin Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate's campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.
If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.
But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an "adviser" to the Obama campaign -- because that campaign had sought his advice -- you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an official adviser to the Obama campaign.
You would never tolerate such weasely nit-picking from a Republican.
If you who produce our local daily paper actually had any principles, you would be pounding this story, because the prosperity of all Americans was put at risk by the foolish, short-sighted, politically selfish, and possibly corrupt actions of leading Democrats, including Obama.
If you who produce our local daily paper had any personal honor, you would find it unbearable to let the American people believe that somehow Republicans were to blame for this crisis.
There are precedents. Even though President Bush and his administration never said that Iraq sponsored or was linked to 9/11, you could not stand the fact that Americans had that misapprehension -- so you pounded us with the fact that there was no such link. (Along the way, you created the false impression that Bush had lied to them and said that there was a connection.)
If you had any principles, then surely right now, when the American people are set to blame President Bush and John McCain for a crisis they tried to prevent, and are actually shifting to approve of Barack Obama because of a crisis he helped cause, you would be laboring at least as hard to correct that false impression.
Your job, as journalists, is to tell the truth. That's what you claim you do, when you accept people's money to buy or subscribe to your paper.
But right now, you are consenting to or actively promoting a big fat lie -- that the housing crisis should somehow be blamed on Bush, McCain, and the Republicans. You have trained the American people to blame everything bad -- even bad weather -- on Bush, and they are responding as you have taught them to.
If you had any personal honor, each reporter and editor would be insisting on telling the truth -- even if it hurts the election chances of your favorite candidate.
Because that's what honorable people do. Honest people tell the truth even when they don't like the probable consequences. That's what honesty means. That's how trust is earned.
Barack Obama is just another politician, and not a very wise one. He has revealed his ignorance and naivete time after time -- and you have swept it under the rug, treated it as nothing.
Meanwhile, you have participated in the borking of Sarah Palin, reporting savage attacks on her for the pregnancy of her unmarried daughter -- while you ignored the story of John Edwards's own adultery for many months.
So I ask you now: Do you have any standards at all? Do you even know what honesty means?
Is getting people to vote for Barack Obama so important that you will throw away everything that journalism is supposed to stand for?
You might want to remember the way the National Organization of Women threw away their integrity by supporting Bill Clinton despite his well-known pattern of sexual exploitation of powerless women. Who listens to NOW anymore? We know they stand for nothing; they have no principles.
That's where you are right now.
It's not too late. You know that if the situation were reversed, and the truth would damage McCain and help Obama, you would be moving heaven and earth to get the true story out there.
If you want to redeem your honor, you will swallow hard and make a list of all the stories you would print if it were McCain who had been getting money from Fannie Mae, McCain whose campaign had consulted with its discredited former CEO, McCain who had voted against tightening its lending practices.
Then you will print them, even though every one of those true stories will point the finger of blame at the reckless Democratic Party, which put our nation's prosperity at risk so they could feel good about helping the poor, and lay a fair share of the blame at Obama's door.
You will also tell the truth about John McCain: that he tried, as a Senator, to do what it took to prevent this crisis. You will tell the truth about President Bush: that his administration tried more than once to get Congress to regulate lending in a responsible way.
This was a Congress-caused crisis, beginning during the Clinton administration, with Democrats leading the way into the crisis and blocking every effort to get out of it in a timely fashion.
If you at our local daily newspaper continue to let Americans believe --and vote as if -- President Bush and the Republicans caused the crisis, then you are joining in that lie.
If you do not tell the truth about the Democrats -- including Barack Obama -- and do so with the same energy you would use if the miscreants were Republicans -- then you are not journalists by any standard.
You're just the public relations machine of the Democratic Party, and it's time you were all fired and real journalists brought in, so that we can actually have a daily newspaper in our city.

A 'Slobbering Love Affair' Between Obama and the Media

Well one of my favorite authors is out with a new book. Bernard Goldberg, former CBS News correspondent and author of “Bias” and “Arrogance,” among others, has now written “A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (and Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media.”
Goldberg, who has outlined many instances of media bias in the past, believes that in the case of Obama’s election, the media took it a step further. He told the website ‘TV Newser’ that in this election the media felt an obligation to shape history by helping to elect America’s first black president. He says that the book is “not an anti-Obama book. It’s an anti-media book.”
