Hey J.O., I know this article was for the general public, not for us Bear Backers, but I was a little disappointed that you didn't mention Nate's short-comings before the injury. For you to say that Nate "led" the team before the injury is a huge escape from the reality of '07. Forsett and big-time plays by other offensive and defensive players brought victory in those games. If it wasn't for Forsett returning in one game after an injury, or Monty's 1st down run late in another game, or Ezeff tackle in the Oregon game, or the Defensive stand on the goal line against the Vols in the 2nd Quarter, Longshore could have been hard pressed to win the games like he was in later games and failed. Longshore was just a long for the ride for those victories, and his dismal percentages, especially, in 2nd half prove my point. When he had perfect opportunities to put the Bear's up for good, he bit the dust. I'm willing to yield to Cignetti's and Tedford's opinion, if they go with him, but let's be frank that Longshore wasn't the reason for Cal's success in the first half of the season.
