I read a post the other day that caught my attention and I feel the need to respond in an attempt to clarify the situation.  It read, “Don’t shop at Piedmont Lumber in Pittsburg”.

Piedmont Lumber  Company closed the doors temporarily in our Pittsburg facility to retail operations in May.  Although we are not currently operating as a full service Lumber Yard out of this particular location, our commitment to Eastern Contra Costa County has not diminished.  We have trucks in the area daily making deliveries and we are committed to servicing the area for years to come.

We are currently housing our Outside Sales Staff in this location and we are actively evaluating plans for the future use of the facility.  We are a phone call away and if you would rather speak to someone in person, come on by and ring the door bell.  We will be happy to assist you with pricing and availability out of our Walnut Creek facility.  Whether you are looking to pick the items up or have them delivered, we are still here and ready to help.

Again, I would like to thank the community for their support for the last 40 years!

Thanks for the support!  I being a lifelong resident of Pittsburg, shopped here as a kid with my parents.

At any rate, we charge $ 35.00 for deliveries in Contra Costa County if the order is less than $1,000.  Over $1,000, we are at your door step for free!   We deliver Monday through Friday and can usually get stock inventory items to your site the next day.  You cannot rent a truck and put gas in it for $35.00.

Tom Thank You for your many years of service in Pittsburg. Once I became a home owner I used your business many times. While the location may not have been the best place to do business, the service was worth looking you up. Over the years I’ve spent my money where I recived the best service and when it comes to home improvements your store and Ace has proven to be the best for me and my home. If you decide to come back make sure you let the people know, you take their business serrious and will make sure every customer gets the personal required to get their home improvement projects completed.

Thanks! David

David:

Thank you for the kind words and the support.  We have all intentions of coming back sometime in the future and we will make it a point to make sure that we let the community know that we are back.  When we built the facility 40 years ago, there were no buildings around us.  We were visible from everywhere.  Over the last many years, we have had numerous buildings crop up that lowered our visibility.  I have a picture in my office that was taken shortly after the facility was built.  Hanging next to it is a picture taken several years ago.   The difference is amazing, and pretty much sums up what you mentioned about the location.

I have worked for Piedmont Lumber for many years (OK, decades), and we are very fortunate to have some of the best in the business employed with us.  Much or our business comes from word of mouth from individuals such as yourself.

I am glad that we were able to assist you and others in the past and look forward to doing so again here in the future.  In the meantime, we have other locations that will provide the same level of service.

Thanks Again!

Tom Drolet
