Why should someone have to pay a fine for the police to do their job? Are you telling me that the police dept. has to call an off duty officer, have him come in and then go out and cehck an alarm? They are already on the job. They get called all day and night to situations that are cleared up before they get there, resulting in a "false alarm". Someone calls saying they think someone is breaking into their house, by the time they get there, they discover a kid kicked a ball through their window, "false alarm". Quit complaining, get your [bleep] out there and do your job.

I live in Concord and had to pay a one-time $40 registration fee for my monitored alarm system. The way it was explained to me is that the PD wants record of what we have/contacts, etc. because if the alarm goes off when we're not home, they will have info/know that we have this system. So, I guess I was essentially paying for the paperwork.

The problem isn't a false alarm here or there, it is dozens of them nightly. So the problem isn't dealing with a random false alarm. It is going to a false alarm on 1st for the 20th time in a month when someone is breaking into your house on A St. when you don't have an alarm.
The city needs to charge a small fee for repeat calls to the same place. On top of that, they should charge the Alarm Companies money annually, not the citizen.
Better yet, since the alarm companies are the ones installing the systems and collecting monthly fees, send them out to the house or business to check.

Oh quit crying, something was going to interupt their doughnut break.
In a troublesome city like Pittsburg, you are going to have to be somewhere, hopefully during your shift. does it really matter? the police are there doing their job, what extra expense does the city have to pay? What a bunch of bovine excreta.

Yeah.. that what the cops should be doing... in the neighborhoods, not on the thoroughfares looking to write tickest, and if an alarm is going off get out of your damn car and go look around the house! Geez. It is the PROPERTY TAXES that make up the majority of the city's revenues, RIGHT???!

Pay the police for their service??? Quit it. I think that the problem is dealing with a random false alarm. I think that the police depat. of a certain city needs to needs to check on the repeated calls of the same place. I believe that, not all home alarm systems companies are to blame with any malfunctions of their products. I believe that it is where we put them that detects something on its sensors that creates false alarms.
