O.k. so I'm new to the area and were I come from the newspapers or police department don't advertise where they place police check points. The point of a check point is to catch people off guard and not give them time to prepare alternate routes. So...why was is it placed on-line were pittsburg p.d. was having a check at????

where do you come from?  Its either state or federal law that they have to make them available to public.  I'm from WA state originally and they always put them in the paper too.

I come from IL. There they say there is going to be stepped up patrol OR there is going to be be check points but they dont disclose information on where they are going to be. I think that just nulls the purpose of a check point.

It's public knowledge and the public has the right to share that information. Stupid people will continue to drive through DUI checkpoints as well as Drunks. As a citizen, it is everyone's right to share that information whether you deem in inappropriate or not.

Policing the public is one thing, controlling their thoughts is another.
