A few blocks away a house sits with the lawn turning brown. Colored paper covers some of the windows. It has sat empty for many months. A lot of money was invested into this property and now it sits. I don't know the specifics but obviously someone thought it was worth more than it really is. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it the day it sells and apparently no one is willing to pay the asking price...Don't over-estimate the value of your house.

OMG!  That is so sad!  Poor little house!

Can't somebody at least water the lawn?

Our next door neighbors just moved out yesterday with no warning. Apparently they got the home with some kind of fishy deal and now they can't make the payments. This house must have a curse on it. In the 16 years we've lived here since the homes were built, there have been seven families in that house. The "family" that lived there prior to these people were criminals and made life hell for us for two years. We were one of the CAT unit's first customers before it was even called CAT. These latest people were really nice and quiet so and we were so relieved when they moved in. They completely renovated the interior which was trashed but never got around to re-doing the landscaping. Now we're back to worrying about a vacant home next door with dead landscaping and wondering what kind of neighbors we'll end up with next. This whole situation sucks. I wish we could afford to buy this place and do with it what we want. The bank owns it now and it's probably dirt cheap. Most of the other neighbors have been here as long as we have and are great. I'm just so tired of going through this poller coaster ride with the house next door.

Anyone out there interested in buying a nice home for chump change? We're great neighbors and I do a pretty mean BBQ in my smoker. I'll share the grub over the fence. The kid across the street that's been making all the noise with his car stereo is even moving out so the neighborhood is fairly quiet these days. I work on cars too. Do I sound desparate?

Hey, maybe you can hire the poster on this thread who calls himself Gardner, if he'll take care of mowing the lawn and pulling the weeds?  If he's a real Gardner, that should be no big deal for him.
